Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – SWAN DRAUGHT 2YO WESTBRED PACE (1823MS)
BUT JOE (T Wheeler) - Tainer P Anderson sought and was granted permission for the gelding to race bare in front. This information was disseminated.
MELLEK (N Turvey) – Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 75 metres. A warning was placed against the gelding’s performance.
DO IT MY WAY (A Markham) - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 2 – RADIO GREAT SOUTHERN 4YO+ WESTBRED PACE (2242MS)
LOCAL RESIDENT (C Peterson) - Hung outwards in the score up and was subsequently not in position at the candy pole.
FIVE STAR KEVIN (S Simm) - Out of position as the start was effected. A warning was placed against the gelding’s barrier manner.
ALTACHAERA (A Markham) – Gave ground from the 400m to be beaten 70 metres. A warning was placed against the mare’s performance.
RACE 3 – NARROGIN OBSERVER PACE (1823MS)
KEPTAIN COURAGEOUS (D Goulden) - Inconvenienced in the back straight on the final occasion.
CLASSNSMART (A Suvaljko) - Over-raced through the middle stages.
VINTAGE BLU (A Cortopassi) - Over-raced through the early and middle stages.
ALTA HURRAH NZ (R Donnell) - Galloped as the start was effected, displacing a shin boot and trailed the field thereafter and took no competitive part. Will continue to be placed outside the draw for future mobile events.
RACE 4 – TABTOUCH - SCAN MY BET PACE (1823MS)
The start was delayed to ascertain that all runners were in their correct barrier positions.
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 5 – BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS MARQUEE NOW PACE (2242MS)
The start was delayed approximately 7 minutes due to JADES FORTUNE (C Playle) sustaining a flat tyre during the preliminary.
HEZ SAM NZ (A Cortopassi) - Broke gait shortly after the start. The gelding will now be placed outside the draw for future mobile events. Trainer/Driver A Cortopassi advised the gelding will now be spelled.
AMERICAN MONARCH (J Suvaljko) - Held up for clear running for the entirety of the home straight.
KOLISI (A Markham) - Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
RACE 6 – GRAB DINNER TONIGHT PACE (2242MS)
THE BATMOBILE NZ (C Playle) - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
EASTERN ADVANCE (N Turvey) - Inclined to hang outwards throughout. Commenced to give ground from the 500m to be beaten 154 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The gelding will now be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
BRAVO CHRISTIANO (T Wheeler) - Inclined to hang inwards throughout. Commenced to give ground from the 500m to be beaten 102 metres. Now stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 7 – RACING WA CAREERS IN RACING 3YO WESTBRED PACE (2242MS)
BANK NOTICE (L Harper) - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
