Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – ALLIED EXPRESS FREE FOR ALL (2240 MS)
JILLIBYJACKSPARROW - Raced wide in the early stages and raced tight over the concluding stages.
YAMBUKIAN– Raced wide in the early stages and pulled hard in running.
MACH DAN- Raced tight over the concluding stages.
RAKERO REBEL NZ– Hung in under pressure.
RACE 2 – DYNAMIC PRINT GROUP PACE (1720 MS)
LAYDEN – Driver Jackie Barker was cautioned for half carting.
YAPPER– Raced three wide in the early stages.
CLEAR LEFT NZ– Raced three wide in the early stages.
BLASTER RANGER– Held up over the concluding stages.
OUTBACK QUEENIE– Hung inwards in the final lap. Returned with a flat tyre and having cast both hind plates.
RACE 3 – HIP POCKET CASTLEMAINE MARES TROT (1720 MS)
MAORI DUCHESS – Gave ground in the final lap.
KYVALLEY AMANDA– Dropped a bell boot in running.
LADY ADELIA– Broke gait on the first turn and will now be stood down from racing pending a satisfactory trial.
BLACK AND GOLD– Withdrawn at 4.00pm due to transportation difficulties. The mare will now be stood down from racing for a period of 28 days.
COURMAYEUR– Raced three wide in the early stages.
ALDEBARAN ACRUX USA- Held up over the concluding stages.
ALDEBARAN MILEY - Raced three wide in the middle stages.
RACE 4 – TAB WE’RE ON PACE (2240 MS)
HES CHARLIES ANGEL – Pulled hard in running.
CAPTAIN BELLASARIO - Withdrawn at 8.51am on Vets Advice. The gelding will now be stood down from racing for a period of 28 days.
PETRACCA – Raced roughly over the concluding stages. Returned have cast its near fore plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
RACE 5 – ALDEBARAN PARK TROTTERS FREE FOR ALL (1720 MS)
NEPHEW OF SONOKO– As a result of covering ONE OVER ALL NZ which broke gait and galloped across the finish, NEPHEW OF SONOKO, pursuant to the Victorian local rule Rule155(A) was promoted to 6th placing.
SUNDONS COURAGE– Inconvenienced over the concluding stages.
ONE OVER ALL NZ– Raced three wide in the middle stage. Broke under pressure in the concluding stages and galloped across the finishing line After reviewing the video footage which showed it was covered by NEPHEW OF SONOKO, pursuant to the Victorian local rule Rule155(A) ONE OVER ALL NZ was relegated to 7th placing with NEPHEW OF SONOKO, moving to 6th placing
RACE 6 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS PACE (2240M MS)
RAKAJED NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages.
HUGO ROCKS – Pulled hard in running and held up over the concluding stages.
OZZIE BATTLER– Pulled hard in running.
RACE 7 – PRYDES EASIFEED 3YO TROT (2240 MS)
MIDNIGHT EAGLE– Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
MISTER BLINDSIDE– Broke gait in the score up and caused a false start. The colt will now be placed outside of the draw at its future mobile starts. Broke gait in the second score up. Broke gait on two occasions in running and was retired from the race. The colt will now be stood down from racing pending a satisfactory trial. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
COURAGES LAW– Pulled hard in running, tired and beaten 84m. A post-race A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. When questioned Driver Jordan Leedham stated that after pulling hard in running the gelding may have chocked down. The gelding was placed on its last chance to race competitively.
ALL THAT REMAINS– Inconvenienced in the home straight.
APRIL SUN– Broke gait after the start and no action taken after considering the earlier false start. Hung in throughout running.
RACE 8 – RENOWN SILVERWARE PACE (1720 MS)
TALLARAS SHADOW– Held up making the turn into the home straight.
COOL NIGHT– Pulled hard in running.
SASSYOLA- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations. Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities. Raced wide in the early stages and raced three wide in the middle stages.
RACE 9 – LOGICAL STAFFING SOLUTIONS PACE (2240M MS)
GENERAL – Prior to the All Clear being declared the Stewards reviewed the start. It was established that the mobile had moved off for the score up and MAGNETIC TERROR NZ had then commenced to become fractious and refuse to score up. When considering AHRR 128(2), 128(3) and 141(1)(a), Stewards were of the opinion that MAGNETIC TERROR NZ was afforded a fair start and all clear was declared.
CARRAMAR SOLOMONA – Raced three wide in middle stages.
OURMATEMENKO NZ– Pulled hard in running.
MAGENTIC TERROR NZ– Fractious and refuse to score up, resulting in it being out of position. The gelding will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. The gelding trailed the field and was subsequently retired from the race. MAGNETIC TERROR will now be stood down from racing pending a satisfactory trial.
VERY PRETTY– Raced roughly in the early stages. Shifted outwards over the concluding stages.
