STEWARDS REPORT FOR MELTON

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – ALABAR PACE (2240 MS)

YOUNG BLUEY – Held up over the concluding stages.

JOELITA– Inconvenienced and held up behind the tiring JUST AS WELL NZ in the final lap.

JUST AS WELL NZ– Raced three wide in the early stages. Pulled hard in running. Tired, beaten 183m. When questioned Driver Greg Sugars stated the mare pulled hard in running and disappointed when it failed to respond when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a Grade II EIPH. The mare will now be required to trial satisfactorily before being permitted to race again.

BLAKE BOLAC– Raced three wide in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a swollen near fore. It subsequently received veterinary treatment and will now be stood down for 3 days.

RADIUS– Contacted marker pegs over the concluding stages.

LAYDEN- Inconvenienced behind the tiring JUST AS WELL NZ in the final lap.

COURAGEOUS SAINT- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200 starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

DHAULAGIRI NZ– Prior to the race the gelding was claimed for $15,000.

RACE 2 – APG TROTTERS FREE FOR ALL (2240 MS)

IMPERIAL MONARCH NZ– Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

REVELSTOKE – Held up over the concluding stages.

NEPHEW OF SONOKO– Raced wide in the early stages.

MUFASA METRO NZ– Inconvenienced in the score up.

ONE OVER ALL NZ– Raced roughly over the final 400m.

RACE 3 – HYGAIN FREE FOR ALL (1720 MS)

HELLUVA NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages.

TRIPLE EIGHT NZ _ Raced three wide in the early and middle stages.

RACE 4 – ALDEBARAN PARK TATLOW STAKES (2YO TROTTERS) (2240 MS)

RAINBOW JESTER– Broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

ALRIGHTY– Raced roughly and gave ground ion the final lap. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a Grade II EIPH.

VYTIS- Hung in under pressure.

NIPOTINA– Raced wide in the early stages.

RACE 5 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS PACE (2240 MS)

NICHOLAS CAGE NZ– Hung in under pressure.

ROARFORROSCOE– Held up making the turn into the home straight.

RACE 6 – GARRADS TROT (1720 MS)

PICKET WIRE – Raced three wide in the middle stages.

KEYANG GUCCI– Broke gait after the start. No Action Taken. Broke gait near the 400m.

ALDEBARAN MILEY– Refused to score up and caused a false start. The mare will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Out of position in the score up.

ILLAWONG LARAJAY- Out of position in the score up. No Action Taken. Raced three wide in the early stages.

SEBASTIANS BOY- Out of position in the score up. No Action Taken.

RACE 7 – NEVELLE R STUD PACE (2240 MS)

CHIRRIPO– Held up over the concluding stages.

BETA THAN LOVE NZ– Raced wide in the early stages.

MOST TRIUMPHANT– Momentarily locked wheels in the home straight. As the mare was engaged to race to following day, in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy it underwent post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.

IM SHADOW BOXER– Held up making the turn into straight.

CAN FEEL THE FURY NZ– Raced roughly after the start and will now be placed its last chance in the draw. As the gelding was engaged to race to following day, in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy it underwent post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.

JILLIBY SELWOOD- Momentarily locked wheels in the home straight.

CLASSIC ANGELINA– Raced three early and middle stages.

RACE 8 – MIMOSA HOMES TROT (2240 MS)

AVANT GUARD– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

QUAKE PROOF– Raced wide in the early stages.

KINGS GUARD– Driver Stephen Boyington was cautioned for being out of position at the candy pole.

FOUROUTOFFIVE– Held up making the turn into the home straight.

ALDEBARAN BOYD– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

RACE 9 – CATANACH’S JEWELLERS PACE (1720 MS)

LOTAKEVI - In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200 starts and 12yr+) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

MONSIEUR FLAMEL– Raced wide in the early stages.

IM TERRORTORIAL NZ– Withdrawn at 10.02am on Vets advice and will now be stood down for a period of 28 days.

JIMMY BREEZE NZ– Raced wide early, hung in and broke gait on the first turn. The gelding will now be required to trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.

SASSYOLA- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200 starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.
