STEWARDS REPORT FOR TABCORP PARK MELTON

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 NEED FOR SPEED NOMS CLOSIN 1st AUGUST TROT (2240 MS)

Imperial Whiz- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to his number of lifetime starts- no abnormalities apparent.

Dichotomy- Pre race swab samples taken.Failed to make ground from the rear of the field. Driver Amy Tubbs reported that her drive had hung out and  dropped the bit once asked to improve into the race into the back straight. A post race veterinary examination indicated no apparent abnormalities.

Easy Pickings NZ- held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.

Escape The Pace NZ- out of position at the start- warning issued. Caught wide in the early stages and was restrained to the rear. Broke free of interference approaching the 500 metres- warning issued.

I Am Pegasus- held up over the concluding stages

 

RACE 2 TAB WE’RE ON PACE (2240 MS)

Binn Watching- hung in and contacted marker pegs near the 350 metres. Then when corrected  shifted out,  then tired to be beaten 72 metres- warning issued.

Pet Kitty- post race swab samples taken.

Micton Mouse- gave ground around the home turn and was then checked as Binn Watching shifted out.

Really Smartie- caught wide early and restrained to the rear. Inconvenienced on the home turn when improving to the outside of Binn Watching, as that runner hung in then shifted out.

Odin- pre race swab samples taken.

Judes Dude- inconvenienced on the home turn.

Lavada Gold- pulled hard in running.

Pete Mitchell- improved into the race from the 400 metres, then checked and broke near the 300 metres.

RACE 3 – ALABAR  PACE (2240 MS)

Pickle It- held up and inconvenienced behind Go George Go as that runner tired.

Lotakevi- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to his age and number of lifetime starts- no abnormalities apparent.

Go George Go- worked forward to race outside the leader, then tired to be beaten 67 metres. Driver Michael Bellman reported that the gelding was caught wide early and  had endured too much work in the early stages which told on the gelding later in the race. A post race veterinary examination inclusive of endoscopic exam revealed npo apparent abnormalities. A warning was placed on the performance.

Treacheroustimes- pre and post race swab samples taken.

RACE 4 – GARRARDS 0-1 LTW  PACE (2240 MS)

Saverio- momentarily paced roughly after the start. Tired to be beaten 73 metres- warning issued.

Pistol Queen- inconvenienced around the home turn. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

Sweet Ideal- pulled hard in running, and shifted in abruptly when steered into the sprint lane.

Kwick Sand-Hung out in the score up. No action was takenm regarding sectional times due to the prevailing weather conditions.

                                                                                             

RACE 5 - HYGAIN PACE (1720 MS)

 Til Heavens Rockn NZ- hung in and contacted marker pegs around the home turn.

No Win No Worries- pulled hard in the score up,then driven forward after the start however was restrained to trail the leader around the first turn. Pulled hard from the 950 metres after the lead changed  before giving ground to be beaten 49 metres.

Hittheroadjack NZ- hung in near the 300 metres.

American Legacy NZ- pre race swab samples taken.

RACE 6 – 2CONSTRUCT TROT(2240 MS

Aardies Peak NZ- trotted roughly at various stages.

Fouroutoffive- post race swab samples taken.

Mielicki- gave ground to be beaten 41 metres. A post race endoscopic examination indicated Grade 2 EIPH.

Buslin Brody- pulled hard in running.

Desert Assassin- pre race swab samples taken.

 

RACE 7 – MELTON CITY COUNCIL PACE (2240 MS)

Writteninthesky- led and withstood a challenge from Kraft Candy early, then pulled hard whilst leading.

Paradigm- held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.

First Class NZ- driver Adrian Pace was cautioned for careless driving for allowing his drive to race up in close proximity to, then contact the sulky of Maxnjax near the 250 metres.

Krafty Candy- unsuccessfully contested for the lead early, then tended to pull hard.  

Elusive- post race swab samples taken.

 

RACE 8 – MIMOSA HOMES  PACE(1200 MS)

Terror The Christian NZ- pre race swab samples taken. Broke early in the score up before regaining his position prior to the start- placed on his last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Tired to be beaten 52 metres- no action taken due to the extended winning margin and fast sectional times recorded.

Shady Dancer- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to her number of lifetime starts- no abnormalities apparent.

Doitson NZ- tired to be beaten 58 metes- no action taken due to the extended winning margin and fast sectional times recorded. Hung in under pressure and contacted marker pegs near the 250 metres.
