Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – DYNAMIC PRINT GROUP NMW PACE (1720 MS)

BRAEBEACH – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn before utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.

ANIMADO – Held up and was unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.

MAJOR MAL – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn.,

BANKSOFTHEMURRAY – Cast both hind shoes in the back straight on the final occasion. Held up and no clear run in the home straight.

STARZZZ DESTINY – Galloped during the early stages of the score up. In position at the start. Raced roughly for a short distance after the start and will be given one last chance in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 2 –2CONSTRUCT TROT  (1720 MS)

The start of this race was delayed approximately 6 minutes due to a technical issue with the oncourse ambulance.

CLAUDYS SECRET – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the mare racing at Ballarat on the previous evening with no obvious abnormalities detected. Slow to begin.

HARD ROCK ANGEL – Late scratching at 4.41pm on Veterinary Advice.

NELLIES JOY – Galloped under pressure at approximately the 400m.

MILLY METER – Cast its off fore shoe during the race. Commenced to give ground in the back straight on the final occasion and tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 134m. A post race veterinary examination inclusive of an endoscopic examination revealed a grade 1 EIPH and poor recovery. On veterinary advice, Milly Meter was stood down and not to compete pending a veterinary certificate. Also stood down for a period of 10 days and until it completes 1 satisfactory trial given its recent racing record.

MONT SALLY – Raced roughly for a short distance after the start then worked forward to lead in the front straight on the first occasion. A warning was issued against the mare’s barrier manners.

THE SKYS THE LIMIT – Driver John Caldow was cautioned for shifting out from his barrier position prior to the start. Hung in under pressure in the home straight despite the efforts of driver John Caldow and a warning was issued.

 

RACE 3 – LOGICAL STAFFING SOLUTIONS PACE (1200 MS)

HEYGOYOUGOODTHING NZ – Driver Ewa Justice was cautioned for tightening the racing room of Ooh Ah Lister leaving the front straight on the first occasion. Post race veterinary examination and endoscopic examination after performing below expectations. Upon inspection the gelding was found to have suffered an atrial fribulation. Stood down and not to compete pending a veterinary certificate inclusive of a satisfactory ECG. Also, for a period of 14 days and until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

OOH AH LISTER – Inconvenienced leaving the front straight on the first occasion.

RACE 4 – APG TROT (1200 MS)

DAVEY WATERS – Galloped during the middle stages of the score up and was out of position at the start and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw. Trailed the field throughout.

AARDIE PEAK NZ – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.

RASTAMON – Driver Tina Ridis was cautioned for allowing her drive to shift in and contact the final marker peg prior to entering the sprint lane over the concluding stages.

YOU NO ILL BE LATE – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

ROYAL CHARLOTTE – Galloped under pressure rounding the final turn and a warning was issued against the mares racing manners.

 

RACE 5 – SWIFT SIGNS PACE (1200 MS)

ANGEL OF ANGER – Galloped during the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw.

SKY CITY NZ – Driver Taylor Youl was cautioned for failing to maintain her barrier position prior to the start.

RACE 6 – HYGAIN 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE (1720 MS)

MALANI JOH – Pre and post race veterinary examinations conducted due to the mare not racing since September 2023 with no apparent abnormalities detected.

ROLLIN MARY – Tired to be beaten 82m. A post race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed a grade 1 EIPH with no other significant abnormalities detected. Placed on its last chance to race competitively for a poor performance.

SECOND EDITION – Tired to be beaten 59m and a warning was issued for a poor performance

RACE 7 – IRT PACE (2240 MS)

SHEZABLUECHIP – Driver Sean O’Sullivan was cautioned for allowing his drive to shift in and contact the final marker peg prior to entering the sprint lane on the final occasion.

INDI AIR TONIGHT – Pulled hard while racing without cover outside the leader throughout.

HARBOUR SPRINGS Gave ground after racing near the rear of the field throughout. Beaten 44m in last place. A post race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed a grade 1 EIPH and no other significant abnormalities. Trainer Matthew Craven reported that the filly appeared to have come to the end of this preparation, and he intends to now spell the filly.

RACE 8 – BERALDO COFFEE PACE (1200 MS)

PICKLE IT – Held up for a clear run rounding the home turn and early stages of the home straight.

BREATHE EASY – Held up for a clear run rounding the home turn and early stages of the home straight.

HARLEY BLUE – Out of position at the start despite the efforts of its driver and will be given one last chance in the mobile barrier draw.

ISLAND CEASAR – Worked forward during the early stages then pulled hard when attempting to restrain for cover in the back straight. Raced without cover throughout.
