On Inquiry Driver Scott Ewen (BULLETPROOF BOY) was found guilty to a charge under AHRR  163 (1)(a)(iii) for contributing to interference when tightening BACH NZ and causing PERFECT CLASS to check and break gait. Mr Ewen was subsequently suspended from driving in races for 10 days commencing midnight 16 June 2024. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

GENERAL – Prior to the all clear being declared the Stewards reviewed the start. SPIRIT OF PEARL then became fractious and veered out sharply striking the outside fence. When considering AHRR 128(2), 128(3) and 141(1)(a), Stewards were of the opinion that SPIRIT was afforded a fair start and all clear was declared.
