Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – DYNAMIC PRINT GROUP TROTTERS FREE FOR ALL (2240 MS)

IM READY JET – Raced three wide in the early stages, worked forward and unsuccessfully challenged for the lead.

QUEEN ELIDA- Withstood a challenge for the lead in the back straight on the first occasion.

IMPERIAL MONARCH NZ– A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery and displaying signs of the thumps.

ARCEE PHOENIX– Held up making the turn into home straight.

STAR DOWN UNDER– Gave ground in the final lap.

 

RACE 2 – HYLAND HARNESS COLOURS SMOKEN UP SPRINT (GROUP 3) (1720 MS)

CATCH A WAVE – Shifted out slightly after the start and sulky contacted.

CANTFINDABETTORMAN NZ– Shifted in slightly after the start and broke gait after contacting a sulky.

LEAP TO FAME– Raced wide in the early stages.

RACE 3 – WOODLANDS STUD VICTORIA DERBY (1st Heat)  (2760 MS)

DEE ROE -Driver Aaron Dunn was fined $100 under AHRR 156(3) for unapproved whip use, for applying the whip to his drive on more occasions than are permitted over the final 200m.

MIKI TO SUCCESS – Raced three wide in the early stages.

HES FROM HEAVEN– Driver Greg Sugars was cautioned for being out of position in the score up.

METEOR MOTH– Driver Mark Pitt was cautioned for being out of position in the score up and he was fined $100 under AHRR 156(3) for unapproved whip use, for applying the whip to his drive on more occasions than are permitted over the final 200m.

KINGMAN NZ– raced three wide in the middle stages and then pulled hard after working forward.

SARGENT LOU– Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

RACE 4 – WOODLANDS STUD VICTORIA DERBY (2nd Heat)  (2760 MS)

NATHAN STREET – Trainer Freddy Taiba was caution for failing to declare gear for the horse. Broke gait in the score up and placed on its last chance in the draw. Pulled hard in running and hung in, contacting marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

NO NOTTHEBUTTONS– Trainer Emma Stewart was fined $100 under AHRR 263(6)(b) for failing to declare gear for the horse.

KOMODO – Gave ground in the final lap.

BAY OF BISCAY– Raced three wide in the early stages.

BROWNIESATMIDNIGHT– Held up making the turn into the home straight and inconvenienced behind KOMODO, which was giving ground.

SIR JIMMY – Withdrawn at 11.58am on Vets Advice and will now be stood down for a period of 28 days before being permitted to start again.

WILDBULL NZ– Trainer Greg Norman was caution for failing to declare gear for the horse. Inconvenienced in the score up. Pulled hard in running and held up making the turn into the home straight.

CARRAMAR OLAM- Trainer Robert McCartney was caution for failing to declare gear for the horse. Inconvenienced making the turn into the home straight.

RACE 5 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED VICTORIA OAKS (1st Heat) (2760 MS)

EUREKA JO– Pulled hard in running.

OUR ULTIMATE GRACY NZ- Withdrawn at 12.42pm on Vets Advice and will now be stood down for a period of 28 days before being permitted to start again.

DRAW A DREAM– Pulled hard in running and gave ground in the final lap. When questioned regarding the run Driver Kerryn Manning stated that the filly had pulled in running however disappointed when placed under pressure. A Post race veterinary examination revealed a Grade III EIPH. The filly will now be stood down for 28 days and must have a veterinary clearance and complete a satisfactory trial before being permitted to race again.

LOOK LIKE DIAMONDS– Hand a tendency to hang out in running.

RACE 6 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED VICTORIA OAKS (2nd Heat) (2760 MS)

SHOWSOMEJOY NZ– Pulled hard in running and held up making the turn into the home straight.

COASTAL BABE NZ- Trainer Steven Reid was caution for failing to declare gear for the horse.

UNIQUELY IDEAL– Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

THE ANSWER- Driver Michelle Phillips was cautioned for being out of position in the score up.

STITCHED UP DAN- Driver Jackie Barker was cautioned for being out of position in the score up.

TILLY JAYNE- Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

RACE 7 – ALDEBARAN PARK NEED FOR SPEED PRINCESS FINAL (1720 MS)

KEYANG ZAHARA - Trainer Margaret Lee was caution for failing to declare gear for the horse.

NORDIC REIGN– Broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

MAORIS MAC– Raced three wide in the early stages.

JILLIBY BALLERINI- Raced roughly in the concluding stages.

DALEY WATERS– Raced wide in the early stages. Inconvenienced and broke gait approaching the bell lap.

WE CAN HAVE IT ALL– Raced greenly and momentarily lost ground approaching the bell lap. Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – ALDEBARAN PARK NEED FOR SPEED PRINCE FINAL (1720 MS)

COURAGES LAW – Out of position after breaking gait in the score up. The gelding will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

DEREK THE JET- Trainer Nathan Jack was caution for failing to declare gear for the horse.

TURBRIDGE - Hung in and contacted marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.
