STEWARDS REPORT FOR MELTON

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – TAB WE’RE ON PACE (2240 MS)

SASSYOLA - In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

TILLY JAYNE – Raced three wide in the early stages.

RAINBOWSEND – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight.

DOUGS FLAME – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 2 – RENOWN SILVERWARE PACE (2240 MS)

MIDNIGHT MOJO – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

JILLIBY TIDALWAVE - Held up making the turn into the home straight.

BIG SLEDGE HAMMER – Pulled hard in running. Tired and beaten 54m. When questioned Driver Ewa Justice stated that the gelding pulled extremely hard in running and felt that this had contributed to its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was issued in regard to the gelding’s performance.

DEUCE COUPE NZ – Raced wide in the early stages. Checked and contacted a sulky making the turn into the home straight.

PLATINUM JIVE NZ – Hung inwards in running and gave ground in the final lap. When questioned Driver William Pace stated that the mare hung inwards in the early stages and had to work hard when unsuccessfully challenging for the lead. He felt this may have contributed to its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

FEEL THE REIGN - In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities. Hung in making the turn into the straight, checked and raced roughly and sulky contacted. Returned with a flat tyre.

RACE 3 – DYNAMIC PRINT GROUP PACE (2240 MS)

COOL NIGHT – Held up and had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight.

LOVE INA CHEVY NZ - In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (12yr+ & 200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities. Raced three wide in the early stages. Pulled hard in running. Tired beaten 94m and was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

BIG BOY MAL – Withdrawn on Vets advise at 3.07pm and stood down for 28 days.

HARRYWHO – Tired and retired from the race. When questioned Driver Michelle Phillips stated that the gelding commenced to tire and was making respiratory noises, as such she became concerned the gelding may choke down and she retired it from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. The gelding will be stood down subject to a satisfactory trial before being permitted to race again.

 

RACE 4 – 2CONSTRUCT TROTTERS HANDICAP (2240 SS)

SISTER EVARISTA – Slow to begin, broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future standing starts. Trailed the field.

MISTER BLINDSIDE - Slow to begin, broke gait after the start and will now be placed outside the draw at its future standing starts. Trailed the field.

FLING IT RAINBOW – Began badly and will now be placed outside the draw at its future standing starts.

MAGIC LAW – Raced roughly and broke gait after the start. The filly will now be placed outside the draw at its future standing starts.

LATRELL – Inconvenienced after the start.

 

RACE 5 – WASTE SENSE PACE (2240 MS)

FOREGONE CONCLUSION NZ – Inconvenienced, raced roughly and held up making the turn into the home straight.

OUR TRUE COLOURS – Broke gear and retired from the race in the final lap. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

HIGHVIEW HAMMER – Inconvenienced after the start.

CALEDONIAN TERRA - Inconvenienced after the start.

CAPTAIN BOAK - Held up making the turn into the home straight.

BLACK TUXEDO – Pulled hard in running.

 

RACE 6 – GARRARDS TROT (1720 MS)

DA PREZ – Broke gait in the final lap near the 400m. Considering the gelding’s recent record it will now be stood down for 21 days and three (3) satisfactory trials before being permitted to race again.

AT THE DISTANCE – Raced three wide in the middle stages.

SHIELD MAIDEN – Inconvenienced in the final lap.

HERBERT – Broke gait in the final lap.

RIGHT OF REPLY – Out of position after being fractious in the score up. It will now continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Trailed the field.

CHARLIE WALKER - Out of position after breaking gait in the score up. It will now continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Trailed the field.

 

RACE 7 – NEVELE R STUD PACE (2240 MS)

IMA CHARMA – Pulled hard in running.

BLUE OCEAN – Raced three wide in the early stages.

ICANMOTOR - Pulled hard in running.

OSCAR BRAVO – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – SWIFT SIGNS MAIDEN PACE (1720 MS)

MIDNITE DESIRE – Broke gait in the score up and placed on its last chance in the draw.

VILLAGE RHYTHM – Raced tight on the first turn.

YA BOTTOM DOLLAR – Driver Rodney Petroff was cautioned for tightening on the first turn.

MISS MAGIK – Gave ground in the final lap.

INTO THE HARKNESS – Pulled hard in running ang gave ground in the final lap. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ANAKIN – Raced three wide in the early stages.

SHIKOBA – Inconvenienced on the first turn.

MIAMI ROCKS – Out of position in the score up and placed on its last chance in the draw. Gave ground in the final lap.

RACE 9 LIFESTYLE COMMUNITIES MAIDEN PACE (1720 MS)

EIGHT POUND HAMMER – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

SIR NIPPA – Raced three wide in the early stages.

DEFYING THE ODDS – Caused a false start due to gear failure, no action taken. Pulled hard in running. Broke gait in the final lap and placed on its last chance to race tractably.

COASTAL DRIVE – Pulled hard in running.

RIDDLEMETHIS – Broke gait in the final lap and will now be stood down pending a satisfactory trial before being permitted to race again.

 

RACE 10 ALLIED EXPRESS 2YO & 3YO PACE (1720 MS)
