Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – EUSTON CLUB 2YO & 3YO MAIDEN PACE (1790 MS)
HELENS BOY -Trainer Shane Sanderson was cautioned for failing to have the gear worn by this gelding correctly notified.
TO THE NINES – Trainer Jeffrey Gadsden was cautioned for failing to have the gear worn by this gelding correctly notified.
RUBBLEONTHEDOUBLE – Trainer Shane Osborn was cautioned for failing to have the gear worn by this colt correctly notified. Raced roughly as the start was effected and a warning was issued against the colts mobile barrier manners. Hung out and galloped rounding the first turn and was placed on its last chance to race truly. Inconvenienced and shifted out at approximately the 1200m as Angels Watching galloped.
DIAMOND KRUSHER – Hung in under pressure rounding the final turn amnd contacted a markerpeg and a warning was issued. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
SUPER SUSPECT - Inconvenienced rounding the first turn as Rubbleonthedouble shifted out and galloped. Tired in the back straight on the final occasion beaten 142m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had suffered atrial fibrillation. Stood down from racing and not to compete for a period of 14 days, Until a veterinary certificate inclusive of a clear EGC report and until the completion of one satisfactory trial. This action taken in accordance with Rule 101C.(2).
ANGELS WATCHING – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages. Hung out and contacted the sulky of Diamond Krusher at approximately the 1200m and galloped and was placed on its last chance to race truly. Held up for a clear run in the back straight on the final occasion as Super Suspect commenced to give ground.
FLOJOS BEST – Sulky contacted by Mustang Daisy leaving the front straight on the first occasion.
MUSTANG DAISY – Driver Brent Murphy was fined $100 under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that leaving the front straight on the first occasion, Mustang Daisy raced forward and contacted the sulky wheel of Flojos Best resulting in the filly galloping.
NORFOLK ISLAND – Checked and galloped when trailing Mustang Daisy rounding the first turn. Tired to be beaten 100m over the latter stages. Taking into consideration the early check and the beaten margin, some leniency was extended and Norfolk Island was issued with a warning against its performance.
RACE 2 –VERDE @ THE GATEWAY MAIDEN PACE (2190 MS)
KEEP BETTING -Tightened turning out of the back straight on the first occasion when challenged for the lead. Tightened and contacted a marker peg at the 200m resulting in the markerpeg being dislodged.
CARLY PEREZ – Driver Lochie Cook was cautioned for tightening the racing room of Keep Betting when challenging for the lead rounding the first turn. Contacted a markerpeg rounding the final turn while leading resulting in trailing runners also contacting the marker peg. Driver Lochie Cook was issued with a caution for contacting markerpegs.
MAGIC MATTY – Raced roughly when being restrained shortly after the start and a warning was issued against the geldings barrier manners.
YOUNG GUN LOU – Galloped clear of interference at approximately the 1300m and shifted inside the markerpegs to avoid causing interference to other runners. Placed on its last chance to race truly. Raced roughly under pressure rounding the final turn. Jumped a markerpeg which had been dislodged and galloped as a result at approximately the 250m.
MURRA LANE – Hung out and hung in at various stages. Raced greenly throughout and a warning was issued against the geldings racing manners.
HEART OF OAKLANDS Galloped clear of interference at approximately the 400m and was placed on its last chance to race truly.
BETTOR DOO NZ – Inconvenienced shortly after the start by Magic Matty. Which raced roughly shortly after the start.
RACE 3 – MALLEE STOCKFEEDS PACE (2190 MS)
ABOVE AVERAGE – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.
STONEBRIDGE STAR - – Pre and post race veterinary examination due to the gelding starting on more than 200 previous occasions with no obvious abnormalities detected.
OUTA CONTROL – Held up for a clear run during the early stages of the home straight.
NIGHT SAFARI – Hung in while racing in the one out line approaching the winning post with one lap to travel.
RACE 4 – ZILZIE WINES PACE (2190 MS)
ROCKING WROXTON – Pulled hard middle stages. Inconvenienced as Impetuoso gave ground leaving the back straight on the final occasion.
GUYS BETTOR BET – Pre and post race veterinary examination due to the gelding starting on more than 200 previous occasions with no obvious abnormalities detected.
RACE 5 – CLUB MERBEIN PACE (2190 MS)
UNETHICAL – Tired over the final 700m and was retired from the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Driver Wane Hill was of the opinion the mare is better suited over the shorter distance races and advised that the mare appeared to have come into season which may have affected the performance on this occasion. Given the performance Unethical was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
COURTNEY KATARINA – Tightened for racing room leaving the back straight on the first occasion as Love To Deal was shifted to the one out line.
LOVE TO DEAL- Driver Lochie Cook was cautioned for tightening the racing room of Courtney Katarina approaching the end of the back straight on the first occasion.
KEAYANG CRIPPA – Galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start and was placed out of the draw in future mobile start races.
DRIBBLABILL – Fractious prior to the start and a warning was issued against the geldings mobile barrier manners.
SIR VINCENT – Pre and post race blood samples were obtained under the elevated TCO2 policy.
ROSTOVA – Pulled hard and worked forward to lead during the early stages.
RACE 6 – MCDONALDS IRYMPLE & MILDURA PACE (1790 MS)
ALLSOPP – Tired over the latter stages to be beaten 134m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Driver Boris Devcic was queried regarding his driving tactics before Mr Devcic was charged under Rule 149(2) which states: A person shall not drive in a manner which in the opinion of the Stewards is unacceptable. The particulars of the charge being that Mr Devcic drove Allsopp to show gate speed as the start was effected and after being crossed he immediately shifted away from a trailing position and challenged the leader Shes Poppy for the length of the back and then maintained a position on level terms rounding the turn out of the back straight. Considering the fast lead time recorded and the first quarter in 28.9 seconds, that Mr Devcic had options to allow Allsopp some respite and the performance of the gelding thereafter, Mr Devcic’s tactics where in the opinion of the Stewards unacceptable. Mr Devcic’s license to drive in races was suspended for a period of 3 weeks to commence midnight 22 November 2024. When assessing penalty, Stewards were mindful of Mr Devcic’s length of time in the industry, relatively good driving record in regards to this rule, the consequences of his actions and the HRV penalty guidelines.
APOLOGY ACCEPTED – Inconvenienced as Allsopp commenced to tire from the 700m.
LAZENA - Inconvenienced as Allsopp commenced to tire from the 700m.
SHES POPPY – Shifted out and galloped during the latter stages of the score up resulting in a false start being declared. Placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.
IM STUCK MAN - Inconvenienced as Allsopp commenced to tire from the 700m.
LETSGO BIG GIRL – Galloped during the score up at the first attempted at the start and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races.
RACE 7 – PRESTIGE EQUINE VET SERVICES PACE (2160 MS)
The start of this race was delayed due to Roscos Rescue requiring the farrier after casting a plate during the pre race warm up.
MEMPHIS BLASTER NZ – Galloped clear of interference at the 1500m and again at the 300m and was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
CAPTAIN DAN NZ – Inconveinenced by Memphis Blaster NZ at the 1500m. Checked at the 300m while trailing Memphis Blaster NZ.
ROSCOES RESCUE – Checked and locked wheels with Mighty Carson at the 300m.
MIGHTY CARSON - Checked at the 1500m by Memphis Blaster NZ. Checked and locked wheels with Roscoes Rescue as Memphis Blaster NZ galloped at the 300m.
YOU LITTLE TERROR – Inconvenienced as Memphis Blaster NZ galloped at the 1500m.
RACE 8 – KAREN FRANCIS APPRECIATION PACE (1790 MS)
TOUGH AINT ENOUGH – Hung in at approximately the 400m
LOUIEVILLE – Had a tendency to hang in and out at various stages throughout. Tightened for racing room at the 400m by Tough Aint Enough.
ULTIMATE ROCKER NZ – Held up for a clear run during the early stages of the home straight
TOO THE MAX – Tired over the latter stages to be beaten 59m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.
RACE 9 – VALE JACK ROGERS PACE (2190 MS)
SPORTING RAGE – The start was delayed due to a flat tyre and sulky change required.
STARVIN MARVIN NZ – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.
ROGENBYE – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.
MY LINE OF FIRE – Tired over the latter stages to be beaten 73m. Given the geldings recent racing record My Line Of Fire was stood down for a period of 10 days and until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
ONLY ONCE BITTEN NZ – Driver Ryan Sanderson was issued with a caution for abruptly easing the pace after unsuccessfully challenging for the lead and attempting to find a trailing position during the early stages.
RIMU VALLEY NZ – Pulled hard early stages. Inconvenienced and raced roughly at approximately the 1600m as the pace eased.
PRIORITISE – Late scratching at 1.43pm on Veterinary advice after the gelding was found to have swelling to the near foreleg. Stood down pending a veterinary certificate.
GO AWAY AGAIN – Galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start. Will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races. Trailed the field throughout.
RACE 10 – THE BUTCHERS MILDURA - BEST MEAT IN TOWN PACE (2160 MS)
OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH – Shifted out under pressure over the final stages of the home straight. Driver Jack Laugher was cautioned for his conduct towards another participant after the race.
IDEAL ESCAPE – Inconvenienced momentarily at approximately the 1700m.
MY ULTIMATE LEVI – Driver Boris Devcic was cautioned for the manner he shifted ground outwards at approximately the 1700m which inconvenienced Ideal Escape.
