Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – APG PACE FINAL (2190 MS)
OUR MASTER PLAY – Galloped during the score up resulting in interference to runners on the second line and a false start being declared. Placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.
CORNELIA - Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.
CALF PEN – Galloped when being restrained for a position closer to the markerpegs rounding the first turn. Placed on its last chance to race truly. Pulled hard and worked forward three wide to lead at the 1200m. Raced roughly rounding the final turn then shifted out under pressure despite the efforts of its driver in the home straight. A warning was issued against the racing manners of the gelding.
LOVE TO DEAL – Pulled hard when restrained in the middle stages to relinquish the lead.
GLITZY ALL OVER – Inconvenienced and held up for a clear run rounding the final turn as Beartastic Writer commenced to give ground after racing outside the leader throughout.
STONEBRIDGE STAR – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding racing on more than 200 previous occasions. No apparent abnormalities detected.
HESASTAR – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn as Beartastic Writer commenced to give ground.
KEAYANG CRIPPA – Galloped during the score up at the first attempt at the start and will be given one last chance in the mobile start races. The restart was delayed slightly due to a tongue tie being fitted to the gelding.
RACE 2 –GOOD JOB ALL BLINDZ PACE (1790 MS)
The start was delayed due to the race vision being momentarily unavailable.
ROYAL SAXON –Pulled hard middle stages. Commenced to shift out when wheel to wheel with Escobar rounding the final turn. Hung out despite the efforts of driver Ryan Backhouse on straightening for the run to the finish resulting in the right sulky wheel causing some inconvenience to Escobar. A warning was issued against the geldings racing manners. Post race blood sample obtained under the Elevated TCO2 policy.
RONZEL MICKY – Gave ground over the latter stages to be beaten 29m.Driver Jack Laugher stated that the mare never travelled well throughout which was uncharacteristic. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities however did confirm the mare was displaying signs of being in season which may have effected the performance.
FLYIN TOMMY – Galloped during the score up and caused interference to runners on the second line resulting in a false start being declared. Placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.
IM ALRIGHT JACK – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and early stages of the home straight.
ESCOBAR – Inconvenienced as Royal Saxon hung out upon straightening into the home straight.
RACE 3 – HAPPY 48TH BIRTHDAY SHODDY TARWOOD PACE (1790 MS)
ROCKING WROXTON – Pulled hard while leading during the early and middle stages.
DAYSIE BROWN – Pre race warm up approved.
PUNTO CALIENTE – Held up and unable to obtain a clear run over the latter stages.
GRENADE – Pulled hard score up. No clear run in the home straight.
ROBERT CROCKA – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding racing on more than 200 previous occasions. No apparent abnormalities detected.
UNCUT GEM – Held up for a clear run during the early stages of the home straight.
THE INTERCEPTOR NZ – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding not starting in a race since October 2024 with no apparent abnormalities detected. Galloped during the score up and was out of position as the start was effected and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races. Whilst in a gallop the third hopple carrying strap broke and the gelding was retired from the race.
RACE 4 – CLUB MERBEIN MAIDEN PACE (2190 MS)
LIVELY JOE – Hung in and locked wheels with Taraji which had shifted out slightly at the 700m. As a result the two runners were significantly hampered for a considerable distance.
YOU GIVE ME CHILLS – Inconvenienced at approximately the 650m as Lively Joe and Taraji locked wheels.
HOLD ON FOREVER – Trainer Francis Weston was cautioned for failing to advise of the intended tactics having dual runners engaged in the race. Pulled hard early and middle stages. Checked at approximately the 600m as Lively Joe and Taraji locked wheels.
MINI VINNEY – Checked at approximately the 650m as Lively Joe and Taraji locked wheels.
COLMAN SIGN – Pulled hard early and middle stages.
TARAJI – Hung out and locked wheels with Lively Joe at approximately the 700m. As a result, the two runners were significantly hampered for a considerable distance.
RACE 5 – ZILZIE WINES PACE (2190 MS)
FLAME BLASTER – Held up for a clear run during the early stages of the home straight.
THEBUCKSONYOU – Made slight contact with the outside of a marker peg which was dislodged at approximately the 200m. No action taken given the peg was not fully secured in position and dislodged with minimal contact.
CHEERS POVERTY – Hung in rounding the first turn when caught wide and was restrained to the rear of the field. Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn. Inconvenienced at approximately the 100m as Cotchinellie shifted out while held up for clear running.
STARVIN MARVIN – Pulled hard during the score up.
AMERICAN BOXER – Pulled hard middle stages. Held up and unable to obtain a clear run at any stages in the home straight.
COTCHINELLIE - Held up and unable to obtain a clear run at any stages in the home straight.
LOUIEVILLE – Sulky contacted by trailing runner Dallas Miki at approximately the 1400m.
DALLAS MIKI – Driver Ros Rolfe was cautioned for a lack of control at approximately the 1400m when she failed to restrain her drive sufficiently to avoid making contact with the sulky of Louieville while trailing that runner. Dallas Miki raced roughly as a result.
RACE 6 – LASER SIGNS & PRINT PACE (2190MS)
ELISSAS DELIGHT – Pulled hard during the score up. Pulled hard through out.
DIAMOND KRUSHER – Tired to be beaten 73.8m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.
MEMPHIS BLASTER NZ – Trainer/ driver Luke Watson was reminded of his obligation to seek permission from an official when gear is required to be fitted once entering the track and completing the preliminary warm up. Removable earplugs had been handed to him on track and were required to be fitted prior to the start.
ROOSTER PHILLIPS – At approximately the 400m the gelding was unable to obtain clear running while over racing. When restrained contact was made to its own sulky wheel resulting in a flat tyre on the right side and Rooster Phillips galloped. No action was taken given the circumstances. Continued to be held up for a clear run and failed to be fully tested over the latter stages.
DESTINY KEPT – Galloped rounding the first turn and trailed the field thereafter. Stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial taking into consideration the fillies recent racing record.
RACE 7 – VALE JOEY THOMPSON PACE (1790 MS)
KEAYANG MOROCCAN – The start was delayed due to a flat tyre and subsequent sulky change required.
RACE 8 – CLUB AQUARIUS FITNESS PACE (1790 MS)
GOOD BOOTS BINDI – Pulled hard early and middle stages. Held up and no clear run in the home straight.
AVOCA BLUES - Pre race blood sample obtained under the Elevated TCO2 policy
OUR ART WORK – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding not starting in a race since August 2024. No apparent abnormalities were detected.
OZZIE DAYBREAK – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn.
WIPEOUT – Pre race blood sample obtained under the Elevated TCO2 policy. Pulled hard during the score up. Pulled hard throughout.
