Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – EUSTON CLUB RESORT PACE (1790 MS)

WILSHIRE BOULEVARD – Late scratching at 9.18am with Stewards Permission.

OZZIE PUNTA – Hung out at the 1600m before shifting out approaching the 1500m, inconveniencing La Captain and Dancing Finn.  Warning issued racing manners.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

WATCH THE ATTITUDE – Broke gait when clear of interference on the first turn and placed on last chance to race truly.

GOODTIME MADDIE – Hung in after the start.  Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RIO ROCK – Held up for clear running on the final turn and in the home straight.

MAJOR MEISTER NZ – Held up for clear running on the final turn.  Shifted out under pressure in home straight.

DAYLIGHT AT DAWN – Inconvenienced on first turn by Watch The Attitude, which broke gait.  Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to obtaining an inside run in the home straight.

ALL DA RAGE - Inconvenienced on first turn by Watch The Attitude which broke gait.

DANCING FINN - Inconvenienced on first turn by Watch The Attitude which broke gait.  Inconvenienced at the 700m by Ozzie Punta.

 

LA CAPTAIN - Inconvenienced at the 700m by Ozzie Punta.

RACE 2 –VERDE @ THE GATEWAY PACE FINAL(2190 MS)

AARDIES MIRACLE NZ – Broke gait when clear of interference in the home straight and placed on last chance to race truly.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

LE SPARTACUS– Underwent a blood test 3 hours post-race, in accordance with HRV Elevated TCO2 Level Policy.

ICY RECEPTION NZ- Held up for clear running on the final turn.

DIAMOND BIKINI- Held up for clear running on the final turn.

A ROCKNROLL JET– Hung out at the 1100m.

RACE 3 – PARK DOUGLAS PRINTING PACE (2190 MS)

ROCKNROOSTA – Began badly and will now be placed outside

ULTIMATE ROCKER NZ – Late scratching at 9.42am on Vets Advice.

AVOCA BLUES– Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

OUR ART WORK– Raced roughly at the 300m.

RIMU VALLEY NZ– Checked and broke after start.  Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RACE 4 – TASCO PETROLEUM PACE FINAL (2190 MS)

STONEBRIDGE STAR – (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.

Held up for clear running on the final turn.

DEADLINE– Pulled hard while leading.  Driver Wayne Hill fined $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.

PUNTO CALIENTE- Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RACE 5 – MCDONALDS IRYMPLE & MILDURA PACE (1790 MS)

OZZIE JOY – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

ROJENBYE– Began badly and will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

WHATA OPTIMIST– Pulled hard outside the lead.

MY LINE OF FIRE– Late scratching at 9.42am with Stewards Permission.

DALLAS MIKI– Driver Ros Rolfe cautioned for shifting ground in the home straight.  Ms.Rolfe was also fined $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.

MISS BALLYMENA NZ– Raced roughly at the 300m.  Inconvenienced in the home straight by Dallas Miki.

RACE 6 – CLUB MERBEIN PACE (2190 MS)

FORTITUDO – (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.

GUYS BETTOR BET– (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.  Held up for clear running on the final turn.  Checked and contacted marker pegs in the home straight.

SUNSHINE WARRIOR– Shifted out entering home straight and inconvenienced when locking wheels with Mikiyoursofine.

MIKIYOUSOFINE– Inconvenienced when locked wheels with Sunshine Warrior entering the home straight.

DEEWHY– ($2.60fav) Driver Liam Older was queried regarding the overall performance of the gelding which tired from the 400m to be beaten 86m into last placing.  Mr.Older could offer no explanation other than the gelding may not be suited racing outside the leader.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality and Deewhy was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

RACE 7 – IN MEMORY OF RON CHARLES PACE (2190 MS)

General – Stewards considered a protest by Aaron Coad, trainer of Captain Cosmonaut (driven by Luke Dunne) against Abstractor (Alex Ashwood) being declared the winner alleging interference in the home straight.  After considering evidence from all parties, Stewards were not satisfied that any interference had an effect on the placings and the protest was dismissed.  All clear was given on the judges placings 9-2-3-6.

ROBERT CROCKA – Pulled hard behind the leader.  Held up for clear running on the final turn.

CAPTAIN COSMONAUT– (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.   Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

WHITE STAR SAMMY – Driver Lochie Cook replaced Tristen Larsen (unavailable).

MACHSTIQUE – Pulled hard in the lead.

ABSTRACTOR– Trainer Kate Attard fined $100 under AHR Rule 273(6)(a) for not presenting with the incorrect saddlecloth number.  Raced roughly under pressure over the concluding stages.

RACE 8 – ZILZIE WINES PACE (1790 MS)

FREMONT STREET – Caused a false start when hung out in the score up, interfering with runners on the back row.  The gelding will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Hung out after the start and at various stages, warning issued.

JILLIBY SOVEREIGN – Late scratching at 9.42am with Stewards Permission.

RACE 9 – LASER SIGNS & PRINT PACE (2190 MS)

WHITE STAR VILLAGE - (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.   

HESASTAR– Hung in and contacted marker pegs on the final turn.

RACE 10 – MALLEE STOCKFEEDS MAIDEN PACE (1790 MS)

MAGIC MATTY – Driver Kathy Watson was queried regarding the driving tactics adopted and the overall performance of the gelding which tired from the 500m to be beaten 90m into last placing.  Ms.Watson explained that after attempting to hold the lead from an inside draw the gelding began to contact its own sulky and pull hard once crossed by Hello Sweetheart.  Approaching the 1300m, Ms.Watson elected to move away from the marker pegs as the gelding was to be placed three back on the inside, a position that wasn’t ideal given how hard Magic Matty was pulling.  Ms.Watson added that the gelding was inclined to shift out on each turn, a comment supported by the video review.  As Magic Matty tired in the home straight, it was checked when locking wheels with Miss Daphne.  Stewards noted the comments of Ms.Watson.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery and has now been placed on its last chance to race competitively.

OZZIES WATCHING – Tired to be beaten 79m into 9th position and placed on last chance to race competitively.

MISS DAPHNE– Inconvenienced at the 300 by Magic Matty.  Checked when locking wheels with Magic Matty in the home straight.

RACE 11 – PRESTIGE EQUINE VETERINARY PACE (1790 MS)

OUTA CONTROL – Driver Michael Francis cautioned for shifting ground in the home straight, inconveniencing Sporty Philtra.

KULANI COURAGE– ($3.70) Driver Wayne Hill was queried regarding the overall performance of the gelding which tired to be beaten 51m into last placing.  Mr.Hill could offer no explanation for the performance given connections were hopeful that gear alterations following the last start would be of benefit.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality, and a warning was issued against the performance.

COULDNT RECOMMEND – Driver Abby Sanderson replaced Tristen Larsen (unavailable).

SPORTY PHILTRA– Inconvenienced in the home straight by Outa Control.

WATCHING THE BOYS– Pulled hard in the score up.

RACE 12 – COLLIE & TIERNEY REAL ESTATE PACE (1790 MS)

UNETHICAL – Held up for clear running on the final turn.

OPAL CROWN- Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RIVERGUM COUNTESS– Driver Ryan Sanderson was fined $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip freehand soon after the start.
