Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – DANCINGINTHEDARK M @ ALDEBARAN PARK 2YO TROTTERS HANDICAP (2190 SS)

The racebook failed to show Anthony Butt as the driver of Maori Franklin.

Ess Kay Hollywood and Mipersonaljet broke gait shortly after the start, with Mipersonaljet trailing the field for the greater majority. Considering the inexperience of the relevant horses, Ess Kay Hollywood and Mipersonaljet will be given one last chance in the standing start draw.

Cognati contacted its own sulky and veered out at the entrance to the home straight causing Triumph Stride NZ and Miss Francene to be inconvenienced. A warning was issued against the racing manners of Cognati.

RACE 2 ELAINE ANGUS MEMORIAL 3YO VICBRED MAIDEN TROT (2190 MS)

The revised start time of this race was 1:24pm.

Dynamic Star required farrier attention prior to the start.

Goodgirlsavenger galloped clear of interference at the start, trailed the field thereafter and will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

Dynamic Star galloped clear of interference shortly after the start, trailed the field thereafter and will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

Petite Four galloped clear of interference near the 1400m and trailed the field thereafter.

RACE 3 – KEYSTONE LODGE - TWO WELLS SA 2YO MAIDEN TROT (2190 MS)

The racebook failed to show Anthony Butt as the driver of Majestic Summer.

Majestic Summer galloped during the score up, was out of position at the start and will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

Majestic Tooth galloped clear of interference shortly after the start, trailed the field thereafter and will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

Whirlwind Wilbur galloped approaching the winning post on the first occasion, trailed the field thereafter and has now been placed on its last chance to race truly.

Aethon (5th place) and Muscle Miss (4th place) were held up for a clear run rounding the final turn.

RACE 4 –BLACK HORSE NATURALS TROTTERS HANDICAP (1ST HEAT) (2190 SS)

Shield Maiden which raced at Geelong the night prior (22/10/22) was subject to a veterinary examination before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Lady Madge Lewis (G Craven) required assistance from the Clerk of Course during the preliminary after it became apparent that the near side rein on the mare had come undone, resulting in Lady Madge Lewis ultimately pulling up at the top of the home straight. Lady Madge Lewis underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. A delay then ensued as Lady Madge Lewis required a change of sulky. At a subsequent inquiry with Glen Craven, driver and Kristy McEvoy, representative for trainer Danny O’Brien, Ms McEvoy pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 273(2)(b) for presenting Lady Madge Lewis in insecure gear. After taking into account precedent penalties, Ms McEvoy’s clear prior record as a stablehand since 2016, guilty plea and obvious safety ramifications, a fine of $500 was imposed with $250 suspended for 2 years provided there is no similar offence within that period.

Meadowvalley Lover trotted roughly after the start and will continue to be placed outside the standing start draw.

Mystic Chip galloped clear of interference approaching the winning post on the first occasion causing Shield Maiden to be inconvenienced and gallop.

Roi Du Soleil galloped clear of interference approaching the 500m and then trotted roughly approaching the home straight and a warning was issued.

Meadowvalley Lover galloped approaching the 400m.    

A veterinary examination of Aldebaran Jaytee revealed some minor wounds on and around the mouth region, however no other significant findings.

RACE 5 -ON A STREAK @ HARAS DES TROTTEURS VICTORIA TROTTERS DERBY (1ST HEAT) (2690 MS)

Kimora Saffi was out of position at the start, however due to some inconvenience suffered during the early part of the score up from Harry Stamper NZ, no action was taken against Kimora Saffi.

Hold That Gold began badly and will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

Stingofawasp galloped clear of interference approaching the first turn, then paced and broke gait whilst trailing the field during the middle stages. A veterinary examination revealed signs of the filly tying up. Stingofawasp was stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance has been provided.

Our Trixter trotted roughly approaching the 800m and then tired to be beaten in excess of 150m. Our Trixter was stood down from racing until having completed one satisfactory trial.

Iron Love galloped clear of interference near the 300m and a warning was issued.

RACE 6 – CLASSIC CONNECTION @ HARAS DES TROTTEURS VICTORIA TROTTERS DERBY (2ND HEAT) (2690 MS)

John Caldow replaced Daryl Douglas (unavailable) as the driver of Montana Chevelle.

Constant galloped during the score up, was out of position at the start, trailed the field thereafter and will continue to be placed right outside the mobile barrier draw.

Ebonys Avenger was out of position at the start and a warning was issued. Ryan Duffy, driver of Ebonys Avenger reported that the filly lost a off fore shoe during the event.

Montana Chevelle was out of position at the start and will continue outside the mobile barrier draw.

Plymouth Chubb hung in at the entrance to the home straight, and then galloped clear of interference resulting in You No Ill Be Late being checked and Courage Stride being inconvenienced. A veterinary examination of Plymouth Chubb revealed no obvious abnormalities.

Arcee Phoenix (3rd place) was held up for a clear run in the home straight.

Kyvalley Picasso NZ tired to be beaten approximately 58m and a warning was issued.

RACE 7 – USED TO ME @ HARAS DES TROTTEURS VICTORIA TROTTERS DERBY (3RD HEAT) (2690 MS)

Hesallmuscle NZ was out of position at the start and a warning was issued.

Mangana Joe galloped clear of interference approaching the first turn and trailed the field thereafter.

Millee galloped clear of interference rounding the first turn and a warning was issued.

Heir Apparent pulled hard during the middle stages.

Alfie Always tired to be beaten approximately 66m and a warning was issued.

RACE 8 – GET YOUR REDWOOD RATTLER TICKETS NOW TROT (2190 MS)

My Used To Be galloped clear of interference near the 1400m and again near the 600m. Considering the recent record of the gelding, My Used To Be was stood down from racing for 10 days and until having trialled satisfactorily on 1 occasion.

Alpha Male over-raced during the middle stages. Mark Pitt, driver of Alpha Male report that the deafener hood cord broke and he was therefore unable to activate this gear.

Classy Spirit tired to be beaten approximately 100m and the mare was placed on its last chance to race competitively. A veterinary examination of Classy Spirit revealed no apparent abnormalities.

RACE 9 – BLACK HORSE NATURALS TROTTERS HANDICAP (2ND HEAT) (2190 SS)

Te Amo reared and fell whilst circling at the start. Te Amo was subsequently a late scratching at 5:35pm on veterinary advice.

Rockford Peach galloped shortly after the start, trailed the field throughout, however due to the initial delay at the start no action was taken against this mare.

Abitofadreamer galloped shortly after the start and will continue to be placed outside the standing start draw. Abitofadreamer then galloped near the 1800m, trailed the field throughout and a warning was issued.

Kyvalley Heist NZ (4th place) was held up for a clear run rounding the final turn, raced inside the line of the final marker peg before accessing the sprint lane, however gained no tangible advantage in doing so. A caution was issued against Chris Alford, driver of Kyvalley Heist NZ for racing inside marker pegs.
