Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – BARTLETTS MANUFACTURING TROTTERS HANDICAP (2190 SS)
ALFIE ALWAYS – Surrendered the lead to SALSKI approaching the 2000m mark, pulled hard in the early and middle stages when racing with cover.
DELS DESTINY NZ – Held up for clear running entering the home straight before using the sprint lane.
SALSKI – Broke gait when free of interference after the start. As a result, SALSKI will be excluded from the barrier draw in future stand start races. Worked forward from the start to obtain the lead approaching the 2000m mark.
TICTOK – Broke gait when free of interference after the start, then trailed the field. As a result, TIKTOK will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in future stand start races. The mare broke gait again without interference approaching the 1800m mark. Consequently, a last chance to race truly was issued against the mare.
KYVALLEY PICASSO NZ – Began badly when the start was initiated. As a result, KYVALLEY PICASSO NZ will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in future stand start races.
PARTYTIME – Broke gait when free of interference after the start, then trailed the field. As a result, PARTYTIME will be excluded from the barrier draw in future stand start races.
EASY PICKINGS NZ – Broke gait when free of interference approaching the 600m mark. As a result, the gelding has been stood down from racing for a period of fourteen (14) days and must complete three (3) satisfactory steward’s trial before resuming.
MITCHELL WRAP – Stood flat footed when the start was initiated. As a result, MITCHELL WRAP will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in future stand start races.
RACE 2 – MARYBOROUGH IGA 3YO & OLDER MAIDEN TROT (2190 MS)
YOSHIDA – The sulky was contacted by HILLWINSOME approaching the 2000m mark.
HILLWINSOME – Approaching the 2000m mark, was tightened for racing room, making contact with the sulky of YOSHIDA, and subsequently broke gait.
TARA TUFF – Approaching the home turn, was tightened for racing room and contacted marker pegs when HEART OF GRACELAND hung in under pressure, before utilising the sprint lane.
KVINTET HILL – Inconvenienced leaving the 2000m mark when HILLWINSOME broke gait after making contact with the sulky of YOSHIDA.
HEART OF GRACELAND – Was inclined to hang in when placed under pressure entering the home straight, resulting in a tightening of TARA TUFF’s racing room.
LADY OF TIAVON – Checked and broke gait leaving the 2000m mark when HILLWINSOME broke gait after making contact with the sulky of YOSHIDA, subsequently trailing the field.
BRIGITTE ROYALE - Inconvenienced leaving the 2000m mark when HILLWINSOME broke gait after making contact with the sulky of YOSHIDA. Broke gait when free of interference approaching the 450m mark.
RACE 3 – WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL PACE (1690 MS)
ONA MERRY DANCE – Raced roughly after the start, a warning was subsequently placed against the mare.
MURIEL –Raced three wide after the start, advancing to race outside the leader approaching the 1400m mark, before obtaining cover from the 1100m mark.
ACE DUIGAN – Due to the gelding being 12 years of age, in accordance with HRV policy was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Raced three wide after the start, advancing to race outside the leader approaching the 1100m mark.
FAKE CULLECTION – Pulled hard during the score-up and was inclined to hang in and race roughly at various stages throughout the race.
SEA HAWKE – Held up for clear running entering the home straight.
RACE 4 – PETER EGAN BI-RITE ELECTRICAL TROT (1690 MS)
CRITICAL ADVANTAGE – Broke gait when free of interference approaching the 1400m mark, then trailed the field.
LADY LIL – Raced roughly numerous times throughout the race. A last chance to race truly was subsequently placed against the mare. Started to tire leaving the 700m mark to be beaten 118.5m. A last chance to race competitively was placed against the mare.
ALDEBARAN SELENA – Began poorly, breaking gait after the start and trailing the field. As a result, ALDEBARAN SELENA will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile races.
JESSICAS STORY – Surrendered the lead to AGAINST THE BRIDAL approaching the 1100m mark.
AGAINST THE BRIDAL – Worked forward from the start to obtain the lead approaching the 1100m mark.
MAJOR MAX – Began poorly, breaking gait after the start and trailing the field. As a result, JESSICAS STORY will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile races.
RACE 5 – MARYBOROUGH GOLF CLUB PACE (1690 MS)
ERNIELOVENBOY – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages of the race.
HAIR RAZOR – Pulled hard in the score-up, raced three wide without cover after the start, before racing outside the leader from the 1200m mark.
SPECULATOR NZ – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the race. Held up for clear running entering the home straight before using the sprint lane.
SILVER DOMINO – Held up for clear running entering the home straight, had no clear run over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
RACE 6 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (2190 MS)
IVAR – Had no clear run over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
KYVALLEY SURFRIDER NZ – Held up for clear running entering the home straight before using the sprint lane.
SHIELD MAIDEN – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the race. Hung in when placed under pressure approaching the 250m mark. Started to tire leaving the 200m mark to be beaten 45.7m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. The stable will monitor the mare’s recovery and report to the stewards if any issues arise within the next 48 hours.
RIGHT OF REPLY – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages of the race.
DHONI TROUBLE NZ – Raced three wide without cover from the 1400m mark before racing outside the leader from the 1100m mark.
SONNYBOY – Pulled hard in the score-up, breaking gait after the start when free of interference. As a result, SONNYBOY will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile races. Pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the race.
ALDEBARAN CAMPBELL – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the race. Broke gait when free of interference at the 400m mark. As a result, the gelding has been stood down from racing for a period of ten (10) days and must complete a satisfactory steward’s trial before resuming.
RACE 7 – ALDEBARAN PARK 0-2 LTW TROT (2190 MS)
AI SEDHAI – The sulky was contacted by FREMARKSTILLY approaching the 200m mark, resulting in a flat near-side tyre.
RILEYS PEGASUS – Raced fiercely through the early and middle stages, contacting the sulky of PROHIBITED BID approaching the 1400m mark and continuing to race ungenerously. Broke gait when free of interference at approximately the 350m mark when placed under pressure. A warning was subsequently placed against the gelding.
THE VICARS GIRL – Broke gait when free of interference at approximately the 250m mark when placed under pressure. A last chance to race truly was subsequently placed against the mare.
FREMARKSTILLY – Contacted AI SEDHAI sulky approaching the 200m mark, before using the sprint lane. Broke gait when free of interference at approximately the 100m mark when placed under pressure.
KOUFAX – Started to tire leaving the 500m mark to be beaten 58.8m. A last chance to race competitively was placed against the gelding.
PROHIBITED BID NZ – Broke gait when free of interference in the early stages of the score up, out of position when the start was initiated, as a result, PROHIBITED BID NZ will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile races. The sulky was contacted by RILEYS PEGHASUS approaching the 1400m mark, resulting in a flat near-side tyre. The filly was subsequently retired from the race leaving the 500m mark.
BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE – Started to tire the 400m to be beaten 59.2m. A warning was subsequently placed against the mare.
RACE 8 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS PACE (2190 MS)
HANOVER JACK – Raced three wide after the start, advancing to race outside the leader approaching the 1700m mark.
DANCIN DOLLY – Withstood a challenge for the lead during the middle stages from TERROROAN.
TERROROAN – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages of the race. It then raced three-wide without cover from the 1600m mark and made an unsuccessful challenge for the lead during the middle stages.
IAMAWINGATE – Held up for clear running entering the home straight before using the sprint lane.
PRESIDENTIALCHANGE – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the race.
REINDER – Had no clear run over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
RACE 9 – MCPHERSONS PRINTING GROUP PACE (1690 MS)
YAWOMA – Surrendered the lead to HURRIKANE DUSTY approaching the 1400m mark. Held up for clear running entering the home straight before using the sprint lane.
HURRIKANE DUSTY – Fractious in the early stages of the score up, a warning placed against the gelding. Worked forward to obtain the lead approaching 1400m mark.
BETTORSWEETVICTORY – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages of the race.
REGAL ROCK – Pulled hard in the score-up and was restrained to the rear of the field shortly after the start. It continued to pull hard in the early stages and then raced three-wide from the 1200m mark. The gelding broke gait without interference approaching the 1150m mark before working forward to race outside the leader at the 900m mark. Consequently, a last chance to race truly was issued against the gelding.
