STEWARDS REPORT FOR MARYBOROUGH

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 –MCPHERSONS PRINTING GROUP TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP (2190M SS)
WATCH AND ACT – Galloped clear of interference after the start. Will be placed outside the standing start barrier draw.
THUNDA STRUCK – Subject to a post-race swab sample.
AVANT GUARD – Raced roughly after the start.
KYVALLEY PIERRO – Galloped clear of interference near the 700m the raced roughly near the 250m. A warning was issued.
NEPHEW OF SONOKO – Raced roughly near the 1300m.
RACE 2 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE (2190M MS)
SWEET FACE – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 51m into 7th place. A warning was issued.
ITSALLGEE – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 61m into 8th place. A warning was issued.
ONE LAST BELL – Due to the mare having not competed for a period longer than 12 months (Bendigo 21 August 2024) was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
COOL STORY – Raced roughly near the 400m before galloping clear of interference near the 300m. Will be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial and for a period of 10 days.
LOAN SAILOR – Inconvenienced near the 300m when Cool Story galloped.
ALI MACHCHRISTA – Due to the mare having not competed for a period longer than 12 months (Stawell 21 August 2022) was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities. The racebook failed to show Michael Bellman as the driver.
RIDDLEMETHIS – Pulled hard during the middle stages.
ILUVMYSELF – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 66m into 10th place. A warning was issued.
RACE 3 – WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL VICBRED VOUCHER 2YO & 3YO MAIDEN TROT (1690M MS)
General – Stewards delayed All Clear to review the available footage and take comment from Driver Brent Thompson, to considered if Little Miss Valley had maintained her position whilst in a gallop before regaining her correct gait over the concluding stages. After review of the footage and comments from Mr Thompson it was established that Little Miss Valley had lost ground whilst galloping and All Clear was given on the number 9,11,10 and 6.
ITZ CLASSIC GOLD – Galloped clear of interference near the 1900m then trailed the field.
VIXAN – Began badly. Will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
ALDEBARAN BRIANNA – Galloped clear of interference near the 1400m and again near the 400m. Will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
LITTLE MISS VALLEY – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Galloped clear of interference near the 250m.
KYVALLEY JOKER – Galloped clear of interference during the score up. Was out of position at the start. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Galloped clear of interference near the 800m. A warning was issued.
LADY MANCHE – Galloped during the early stages of the score up. Was out of position at the start. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 4 – ALDEBARAN PARK TROT (2190M MS)
ZESTA LA GO GO – Galloped clear of interference near the 200m. A warning was issued.
JOE LOU – Hung in and galloped near the 400m. Will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
FREEMARKS PEGGY – Galloped clear of interference during the early stages of the score up before regaining it correct starting position. Will be placed on its last chance in the draw. Galloped clear of interference near the 200m. Will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN – Pulled hard during the middle stages. Subject to a post-race swab sample.
SUZYS DREAM – The racebook failed to show Donna Castles as the driver. Checked near the 400m when Joe Lou galloped.
JESSICAS STORY – Checked near the 400m when Joe Lou galloped.
RASENGAN – Inconvenienced near the 300m when Zesta La Go Go galloped.
SHEZALOVER – Checked and galloped near the 400m when Joe Lou galloped.
TELLA SHES DREAMIN – Checked near the 400m when Joe Lou galloped.
RACE 5 – REDPATH TYRE & BATTERY SERVICE TROT (1690M MS)
General – Stewards delayed All Clear to review the available footage to ensure Off Your Faceski was in it correct gait at the finish. After this review it was the opinion of Stewards that Off Your Faceski was not in a gallop at the finish and All Clear was given on the numbers of 6,5,2 and 10.
ZINGARA LASS – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 156m into 12th place. Will be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
OFF YOUR FACESKI – Galloped during the first attempt to score causing a false start. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Galloped clear of interference during the middle stages of the second score up before regaining it correct starting position. Raced roughly over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near fore heel bulb. The gelding will be stood down for a period of 10 days.
PATNWILL – Pulled hard during the middle stages. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 87m into 11th place. Will be placed on its last chance to race competitively.
RACE 6 – BARTLETT MANUFACTURING TROT (1690M MS)
COUNTESS CHIRON – Due to the mare having competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
AGAINST THE BRIDLE – Galloped clear of interference shortly after the start. Then trailed the field. Will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Checked near the 700m when Parlezvous Patty galloped.
PARLEZVOUS PATTY – Galloped clear of interference near the 800m. Will be placed on its last chance to race truly.
SERTORIOUS – As the result of being momentarily tightened between runners Charlies Tactics which shifted in and Courages Law which shifted out marginally the gelding was checked by driver Tristain Larsen. As a result of being checked the gelding galloped soon after.
BLACK AND GOLD – Due to the mare having competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Held up for a clear run until approaching 100m before using the sprint lane.
AT THE DISTANCE – Checked and shifted out after the start to avoid the galloping Against The Bridle.
SABIHALIL – Was checked and galloped after the start by At The Distance when that runner was shifted wider to avoid the galloping Against The Bridle. The mare then trailed the field. Was inconvenienced near the 700m when Parlezvous Patty galloped.
MY HIGH PEAK – Subject to a pre-race blood sample. Galloped clear of interference during the middle stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. Will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. The gelding then trailed the field. Galloped clear of interference near the 250m.
RACE 7 –AB PAINT PACE (2190M MS)
JOEYS HANGOVER – Due to the gelding having competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Subject to a post-race swab sample.
ALLHEARTNOHEIGHT – Held up for a clear run until approaching 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind fetlock. The mare will be stood down from until a veterinary clearance is provided.
JOHNNY REDCOAT – Due to the gelding having reached 12 years of age and having competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
SKADI – Held up for a clear run until approaching 200m before using the sprint lane.
FAVOURITE HIGHLIGHT – Due to the mare having reached having competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
KIDWITHAGRIN – Held up for a clear run over the concluding stages.
RACE 8 – JOIN YOUR LOCAL CARISBROOK LIONS CLUB PACE (1690M MS)
SOAR – Held up for a clear run until approaching 200m.
KIMCHI – Pulled hard during the middle stages. Driver James Herbertson was queried regarding his drive Kimchi racing three wide for the majority of the event. Driver Herbertson explained he elected to work forward during the early stages of the event but was beaten to the position outside the leader by Princess Arna. Once this happened Driver Herbertson realised there was no other option but to restrain to the rear. Mr Herbertson further explained that while attempting to restrain to the rear of the field Kimchi began to pull hard and the speed of the race slackened significantly. Due to these factors, he was unable to restrain the gelding to the rear of the field. Mr Herbertson’s comments were noted.
MIKI MARK – Held up for a clear run until approaching 200m before using the sprint lane.
DOT BALL – Held up for a clear run until approaching 200m before using the sprint lane.
TEX GOES BANG – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
RACE 9 – SANTA'S SUMMER SPRINT ON DEC 23 PACE (2190M MS)
SHALLOW BEACH – Driver Ian McMahon was spoken to advisedly regarding his whip action used over the concluding stages.
DOUBLE THE HUNTER – Subject to a post-race swab sample.
TOPHUT JOHNY – Due to the gelding having competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Held up for a clear run until approaching 200m before using the sprint lane.
EYE SEE AMOUR – Held up for a clear run until approaching 200m before using the sprint lane.
HAVADASH JOH – The racebook failed to show Kerryn Manning as the driver.
RACE 10 – THANK YOU & GOOD LUCK JACKSON PACE (1690M MS)
INSIDER TRADING – Held up for a clear run over the later stages.
VAPAR BRENDA – Due to the mare having not competed for a period longer than 12 months (Charlton 3 July 2024) was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities. The racebook failed to show Michael Bellman as the driver.
DAVOLAS LEGACY NZ – Galloped clear of interference shortly after the start. Will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
LETS WENT – Due to the gelding having not competed for a period longer than 12 months (Ballarat 2 November 2022) and competed in more than 200 races was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race in accordance with HRV policy which revealed no apparent abnormalities.
JOE GOT ROLLED – Subject to a pre-race blood sample.
