Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1  ZAC PEARSON PACE – 1780MS

CITYSIREN – Broken gait free of interference as the field raced into the first turn, a warning was issued.

SWISS LIGHTNING – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres, utilised the sprint lane and was fully tested in the final straight.

BETTOR SPORT – Inconvenienced as the field raced into the first turn when CITYSIREN broke gait in advance of him.

TRUE BLUE ROSE – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres, utilised the sprint lane and was fully tested in the final straight.

NICOLESCRUISER– Inconvenienced as the field raced into the first turn when CITYSIREN broke gait in advance of her. Unable to find a clear run over the final 400 metres of the event and was unable to be fully tested in the final straight.

RACE 2  MARCUS FITZGERALD FARRIER SERVICES PACE – 1780MS

ROCKING TIFF – Gave ground from the 350 metres to eventually be beaten 62.0 metres, a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

BAYSIDE VICTORY –. Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres but when clear was fully tested in the final straight.

RACE 3  VALE LESLEY MEDHURST PACE – 1780MS

OUR AMERICAN MAID NZ – Driver L. Older was fined $100.00 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to sectional time requirements by running his first half of the last mile in 65.2 seconds when the minimum is 64.0. The mare had a tendency to shift out under pressure in the final straight.

FIRE OFFICIAL – Trainer P. Matthews was fined $100.00 for an unacceptable scratching.

JOHNNY REDCOAT – As per HRSA policy for horses aged 12 years or older, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run. Utilised the sprint lane and was fully tested in the final straight.

ERNIELOVENBOY – Broke gait free of interference during the score up and was out of position at depatch, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events. The gelding had a tendency to contact its own sulky at various stages of the event.

LA PIERRE – Inconvenienced as the pace eased near the 1200 metres.

RACE 4  PHIL WOOD CATTLE SERVICES PACE – 2190MS

BURNING HOT – Showed gate speed and led the event, however, driver B. Howard elected to take a trail on the back of EMJAYBEE near the 2000 metres. Inconvenienced near the 1450 metres when DOUBLE THE HUNTER moved to the position on the marker pegs, in advance of BURNING HOT, when insufficiently clear of the gelding.

SHE WILL WANTANO – After showing gate speed the mare had a tendency to over-race when racing at the head of the one out line.

EMJAYBEE – Driver L. Dunne was reminded of his obligations when leading to meet minimum sectional times, as he ran the first half of the last mile in 64.2. When considering what action should be taken, Stewards were mindful of the very small margin of error as well as the early work done by EMJAYBEE.

DOUBLE THE HUNTER – Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead and then restrained into the position behind the leader. Driver L. Cook was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(i) for crossing with insufficient clearance over BURNING HOT near the 1450 metres.

MARTIN MAGIC – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested in the final straight

RACE 5  LADBROKES PACE – 1780MS

BILLEES JET – Driver M. Phillips was fined $100.00 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to sectional time requirements by running his first half of the last mile in 65.1 seconds when the minimum is 64.0.

GRINNING REACTOR – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested in the final straight

MASSIMO MILLY – Broke gait free of interference near the 1500 metres, a warning was issued.

RACE 6  MELTON SADDLERY PACE – 2190MS

STAR WRITER – As per HRSA policy for horses aged 12 years or older, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run. Gave ground from the 600 metres to eventually be beaten 87.0 metres, a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, a warning was placed on the performance of STAR WRITER.

LETHAL LOUIE – Broke gait in the score up and was out of position at despatch, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events. Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested in the final straight

MIKICOOL – Inconvenienced in the score up and was out of position at despatch, under the circumstances, no action was taken. Had a tendency to over-race when racing at the rear of the field and due to the slow tempo during the early stages of the event.

RACE 7  BETAVET NATURAL SOLUTIONS PACE – 1780MS

EASTBRO DEXTA – Broke gait in the score up and was out of position at despatch, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events, then performed poorly from that point on, taking no competitive part in the race, as a consequence the gelding will need to complete a satisfactory re-qualifying trial  prior to racing again. Driver M. Bellman was fined $100.00 under Rule 156(4)(b)(ii) for using his whip when not in contention.

MAJOR COOL – As per HRSA policy for horses which have not raced in 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.

CITYIDOL – Out of position when the start was effected, a warning was issued. Driver D. Millard was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(j) for moving down the track before the start was effected.

JOLEANER – As per HRSA policy for horses which have not raced in 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.
