Mount Gambier - 5th November 2024

The sprint lane was in operation at tonight’s event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – LADBROKES ODDS SURGE PACE - 1780MS

URBADBOY (A Clarke) raced wide throughout the race despite efforts of driver to obtain a forward position.

Leaving back straight final occasion THE STYLIST (J Glynn) was tightened for room and broke gait as HEZ ALL ROCK (M Bellman) which was racing on his outside hung inwards despite the efforts of Bellman as he had URBADBOY who was racing to his outside also hanging in. A warning placed on HEZ ALL ROCK and URBADBOY.

RACE 2 – DAVID SULLIVAN PACE  - 1780MS

No report.

RACE 3 – BUCIK TYREPOWER TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2190SS

All barrier tapes handheld.

A warning placed on WISTFUL LADY (N O’Connor) which reared after the start and swung sideways making heavy contact to Jason Glynn (BROWN EYED KATE) and checked SONARMII JOH (Jackie Barker).

After the race Jason Glynn was examined by Medical Officers as he had bruising to his right bicep however required no treatment.

Warning placed on ALDEBARAN SIMBA (M Craven) which galloped on two occasions over final 550 Metres.

RACE 4 - TREVOR & MAUREEN ASTON PACE  – 1780MS

Warning placed on VISTA SIERRA (J Barker) out of position at start.
After leaving back straight final occasion JACOSAS DREAM (M Bellman) hung inwards contacting and dislodging a marker peg. VISTA SIERRA shied at the peg and galloped. Warning placed on JACOSAS DREAM.

RACE 5 – SEYMOUR GROUP PACE – 1780MS

Warning placed on UNIVERSAL BOSS (L Cook) out of position at start.

Reinsperson Luke Dunne (STARZINHEREYES) fined $100 under R156 (4)(a) continuous use of whip over concluding stages.

RACE 6 THE TACK ROOM PACE – 1780MS

No action taken against Jackie Barker (FAMOUS LABEL) for whilst leading the race was outside prescribed time 64 seconds for first half last mile as her drive hung on both turns and raced ungenerously despite her efforts and warning placed on horse.

Reinsperson Jayson Finnis (GOLD IN PARIS) advised to follow his number at the start as his drive was not in true position at start. GOLD IN PARIS hung in and contacted marker peg home turn final occasion
