RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1646 metres
CHLOBRO– Post-race swab sample.
POPSTAROMAR– Pre-race blood sample.
LIGHTNING BOB– Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
RACE 2 – MAX & MARGARET MURPHY MEMORIAL – 1646 metres
ABDICATE NZ– Post-race swab sample.
BETTERTHANFEDERER– Slow away as the start was effected.
ROGUE BLING– Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.
FAR OUT BRO–Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 3 – KIRKWOODS PRODUCE MAITLAND & SINGLETON PACE – 1646 metres
NEVER KNOW BLAZE– Pre-race blood sample. Checked and raced roughly as the field negotiated the final turn.
SHIRALEE– Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn. A warning was issued.
KINGSTON SHANNON– Hung in rounding the final turn and checked the running of NEVER KNOW BLAZE which raced roughly. A warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
SAINT KARAMARA– Raced roughly after the start was effected and broke stride upon entering the back straight on the first occasion. A warning was issued.
THEARTOFINFUSION– Broke stride during the latter stages of the score up and galloped excessively failing to complete the event. Connections were advised a warning would be issued for its manners during the score up in addition to being stood down for galloping excessively and failing to finish the event.
CHAPPY STREETNORTH– Upon the request of connections was reincluded into the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 4 – MULTICAM ROUTING SYSTEMS PACE – 1646 metres
DE LA RENTA NZ– had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. Post-race swab sample.
NIFTY STUDLEIGH– Pre-race blood sample. Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
RACE 5 – FOLLOW THE STARS AT MEDOWIE LODGE PACE – 1646 metres
ROBUST EASTON NZ– Driver B Lindsay was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that rounding the turn out of the home straight at approximately the 700 metres, she permitted her runner to shift wider which hampered the running of LACHIES GAMBLE (T Ison) obliging it to race 4 wide for a short distance. In not taking more severe action Stewards were mindful of TULHURST JANET which was racing in advance, having a tendency to hang in and race roughly. Post-race swab sample.
TULHURST JANET– Had a tendency to hang in passing the 700 metres and checked the running of CAPTAIN DORIAN. A warning was issued. Checked and broke stride upon entering the home straight for he run to the finish.
LACHIES GAMBLE– Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up. A warning was issued. Hampered and forced wide passing the 700 metres.
CAPTAIN DORIAN– Hampered passing the 700 metres. Broke stride prior to entering the home straight for the run to the finish.
FRANCOS DELIGHT– Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE – 1646 metres
WAR WESTERN– Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.
TULHURST WRITER– Post-race swab sample.
JOHNNY DEE– Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. Driver R Atkins explained that after being caught wide in the early stages of the event he was obliged to be restrained to the rear of the field and as a result commenced to over race.
ABRIDGED– Had a tendency to over race severely in the early and middle stages of the event and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
SWEET CREATION– Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn.
GHOSTLY COURAGE– Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 7 – THE BEATTY HOTEL BISTRO PACE – 1646 metres
FLEUR BELLA– When questioned regarding the performance Driver G Panella was disappointed in the performance given the run afforded and will look to continue on with its preparation and seek out suitable races.
CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ– Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. Post-race swab sample.
NOTMUCHUPTOP– Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
SHADOW ECLIPSE– Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
RACE 8 – ISSAC MCCALLUM AT THE INTER CITY FINAL PACE – 1646 metres
NOWORRIES– Slow away as the start was effected. Had a tendency to hang out and race roughly as the field entered the first turn.
DOUBLE LINES– Shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish a run opened up along the marker pegs however shortly thereafter whilst under pressure shifted up the track and locked wheels with BREXITT and as a result was checked.
ALTIANO– Checked approaching the 50 metres.
BREXITT– shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish hung out allowing clear running for DOUBLE LINES to progress to the inside however that runner shifted up the track and resulted in those two runners locking wheels.
BE GOOD BENNY– Post-race swab sample.
ROBYN TAYLOR– Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 9 – INTER CITY CALCUTTA AT THE WINSOR CASTLE PACE – 1646 metres
Shortly after the start was effected MOONLIGHT CRUISER broke stride and veered in sharply which severely checked the running and dislodged the drivers of GLENN FORD NZ (G Panella), BIG TIME HUSTLER (B Hughes) and SPOT ON NZ (C Griffiths). Shortly thereafter due to the driverless horses and in addition to G Panella who was prone on the track the race fall siren was activated and the race called to a stop. Following, it was determined the race be declared a no race after consultation with the on course veterinary surgeon due to the exertion of the remaining runners. In particular GLENN FORD NZ, SPOT ON NZ and BIG TIME HUSTLER were stood down for a period of 7 days under advice from the veterinary surgeon. Driver G Panella, B Hughes and C Griffiths were all cleared of serious injury. Driver B Hughes was stood down pending cognitive testing due to his head making contact with the track resulting in his skull cap being confiscated. Connections of MOONLIGHT CRUISER were advised it would be stood down indefinitely due to its tractability on which application can be made for this embargo to be lifted.
