Trainers with multiple runners in a race advised Stewards of intended tactics.

GENERAL:

On Thursday 27 November 2025 out-of-competition samples were taken from 18 horses entered to race at tonight’s race meeting.

Following a report from the Tasracing Integrity Unit’s Investigations Team, that during a surveillance operation on 29 November 2025 it was suspected that Smooth Reason may have received race day administration, Stewards interviewed trainer Mr. Mark Reggett. Following this interview, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Smooth Reason at 4.20pm and under the provisions of HRR 183(a) directed that filly not be nominated for or compete in a race. Further, Mr. Reggett’s license was suspended under the provisions of HRR 183(d) pending the outcome of a Stewards Inquiry.

RACE 1 –   6TY YOUNGBLOODS HEAT ONE - 2200M MS

KARALTA ARTEMIS (B. Miller), which galloped in score up will be excluded from draw in mobile barrier start races.

BOLD CENTURIAN (M. Jones) which galloped shortly after start will be excluded from draw in mobile barrier start races.

Reins person B. Davis (MARTYR) fined $100 for allowing his drive shift ground up the track over concluding stages which advantaged MONEYS NO ISSUE (L. Older). R 162 (1) (www).

RACE 2 –BRIAN (DAVO) DAVIDSON MEMORIAL - 1680M MS

A post-race veterinary examination of ULTIMACTION (J. Chibnall) revealed a laceration to tongue which did not require any further action.

Stewards reminded J. Chibnall regarding continuous use of whip. R 156 (4) (a).

Stewards advised L. Older (FUN TO LOVE) of his obligations when his drive shifted ground over concluding stages. R 162 (1) (ww).

RACE 3 – 6TY YOUNGBLOODS HEAT TWO -2200M MS

MAGIC JOE (G. Hayward) which was racing tight to the outside of STRANDED LOLLIPOP (B. Miller) and Wazza (G. JONES) leaving winning post galloped when being checked off those runners and a warning was issued.

Reins person (G. Jones) fined $100 for using whip in more than flicking motion. R 156 (2) (a).

RACE 4 –LADBROKES GOLDEN SLIPPER - 1680M MS

Reins person L. Older (SOHO TUXEDO) fined $100 for using whip in more than a flicking motion. R 156 (2) (a).

A post-race veterinary examination of SNIPER SANZ (J. Walters) which after leading race hung up the track back straight final occasion allowing inside runs for trailing runners revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K. Rattray advised gelding placed last chance race truly.

RACE 5 –6TY BANDBOX - 2200M MS

Christian Salter (IDEN ELIZA JANE) advised not to use whip when his drives are out of contention.

RACE 6 –LEES ORCHARD TASSIE GOLDEN APPLE – 2200SS

HEZA PUNK ROCKER (A. Ashwood) and MAEBEE (G. Rattray) galloped away.

VANQUISH STRIDE (L. Older) reared as tapes released.

RACE 7 –NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS GLOBE DERBY - 2200M MS

Leaving the winning post after receiving bell PREPARATION (T. Rattray) choked down and veered up the track and fell over perimeter fence. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no injuries. Trainer T. Rattray was advised the gelding is stood down until it completes satisfactory trial. IDEN REGAL WAVE (C. Salter) checked in this incident.

A warning placed on JUSTLIKEDAVE (T. Ford) which galloped near 300 Metres.

T. Rattray was examined by Medical Officers and passed fit to fulfill his remaining driving engagements.

RACE 8 – 6TY GOLDEN GIRLS - 2200M MS

TWILIGHT BONNIE (L. Older) which was beaten 133 Metres underwent post-race veterinary examination with no abnormalities reported. Trainer W. Yole was advised the mare is stood down until it completes a satisfactory trial.

MISS DUTTON (T. Rattray) which was beaten 242 Metres underwent post-race veterinary examination which revealed respiratory condition.  Trainer C. Howlett was advised the mare is stood down until the result of an endoscopic examination is tendered.

RACE 9 – YOUNGBLOODS HEAT THREE - 2200M MS

Stewards reprimanded E. Arnott (FAMILY REASONS) for allowing drive race inside marker pegs on home turn final occasion. R 163 (1) (c) (i).

RACE 10 – 6TY YOUNGBLOODS HEAT FOUR – 1609M MS

No racing incidents.
