STEWARDS REPORT

Trainers with multiple runners in a race advised Stewards of intended tactics.

RACE 1 –   LAUNCESTON BELMONT - 1680M MS

JILLSTIGER (J. Walters) which was racing ungenerously contacted rear sulky on LITTLE CAPPUCCINA (A. Ashwood) after entering front straight final occasion and galloped. A post-race veterinary examination of JILLSTIGER revealed no abnormalities.

The rein burr on QUETZALLI (Rattray) became detached near 100 Metres.

RACE 2 –LADBROKES BIG BETS PACE - 1680M MS

FEELINKINDALUCKY (A. Turnbull) held up early for clear run.

RACE 3 – FIND US ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM -2200M MS

 STAR WATCHING (G. Rattray) raced roughly shortly after start.

HAY MIKI (G. Jones) raced roughly near 400 Metres when eased off back of STAR WATCHING.

RACE 4 –TASSIE GOLDEN APPLE 29 NOVEMBER PACE - 1680M MS

Start delayed whilst sulky replaced on YARECKON IM SWEET.

Reins persons J. Watson (ASHANTE QUEEN), L. Older (YARECKON IM SWEET) and H. Van Dongen (STIR ME UP) fined $50 for being out of position at start. R 162 (1) (h).

RACE 5 –FAMILY FUN NIGHT 29 NOVEMBER STAKES - 1680M MS

HUNGRY HIPPO (A. Ashwood) raced roughly shortly after star and was unable to hold lead. Held up for clear run until after entering home straight final occasion. Inclined also race roughly over final stages of race.

A hopple carry strap on ROCKS ROY (A. Turnbull) became detached over concluding stages. Gear inspected and found to be of good quality.

RACE 6 –BEVAN LEES BUTCHERY STAKES - 2200M MS

A false start called when MADDIS TIGER (A. Turnbull) galloped in score up and checked several runners. MADDIS TIGER, which was then fractious in score up and trailed field away will be excluded from draw in future mobile start races.

RACE 7 –BOOK INTO RESTAURANT 29 NOVEMBER TO WIN A $3000 TRAVEL VOUCHER PACE – 1680M MS

Stewards cautioned M. Jones (REPETITIVE) for allowing his drive to shift ground inwards over concluding stages which resulted in IMPERIAL LAZ (J. Watson) which had taken a tight run to his inside racing inside marker at winning post. R 163 (1) (a) (i).

RACE 8 – LADBROKES POPULAR SRM - 1680M MS

No racing incidents.

RACE 9 – THE BOTTLE – HADSPEN STAKES - 2200M MS

The breast plate on MAJOR LESTER (H. Van Dongen) became detached shortly after start with gelding galloping and taking no competitive part in the race. Gear inspected and found to be of good quality.

Stewards questioned A. Ashwood (ANGUS INDIANA) as to reason CAPTAIN PINS (T. Ford) was able to take an inside on home turn final occasion. He stated his drive was inclined to race off pegs at various stages when leading and it shifted out allowing a tight run to the inside and thereafter he held his ground as CAPTAIN PINS progressed through.
