SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Tasmanian Trotting Club - 17 July 2022 – Race 10
Trainer P Ashwood advised Stewards that blood samples obtained from IFITSTOBEITSUPTOME subsequent to the race revealed the gelding was recovering from a virus. Mr Ashwood further advised Stewards that he would continue on as planned with the geldings preparation.
RACE 1 – CARLTON DRAUGHT PACE– 2200 METRES
HEZ A FAKE broke in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
Driver C Castles (KENS CHIPS) was fined the sum of $100 after being found guilty of a charge under AHRR162(www)(c). Particulars were that in the home straight the final time he failed to take sufficient action to prevent his mare from shifting up the track allowing a run on his inside to HEZ A FAKE with that gelding going on to finish in second placing.
LONGNWINDINGROAD underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 101 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
WANDARY MUSCAT was caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field.
KEEP PLAYING underwent a post-race veterinary examination after giving ground to be beaten in excess of 37 metres. No abnormalities were detected.
Driver C Bell was advised to modify his whip action to ensure no breaches of the whip rule.
RACE 2 – LADBROKES STAKES – 1680 METRES
Racing to the 800 metre mark MAYS PLACE raced onto the back of the preceding runner and broke. MAYS PLACE has been placed on her last chance to race truly.
Driver N Ford (KENYA NZ) was suspended for a period of three race dates after being found guilty of a charge under AHRR163(1)(a)(iii). Particulars of the charge were that when crossing to the lead just after the bell he moved his horse to the marker pegs when not fully clear of HIS DREAM LIVES ON causing that gelding to be checked, race inside a marker peg and race roughly. Stewards took into account Mr Fords good record under this rule when determining penalty.
RACE 3 – GREAT NORTHERN SUPER CRISP STAKES – 2200 METRES
MISS TYLER was out of position at the start. Driver C Bell was reprimanded for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile
SOFTLY SOFTLY underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 100 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
MISS TYLER underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 75 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the mare has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
Driver S Freeman (STREZLECKI WATUSI) was fined the sum of $100 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(3). Particulars were that when driving out in the home straight she used her whip in a continuous manner.
RACE 4 – TRAINERS ENCOURAGEMENT PACE–2200 METRES
BOULDER CITY hung in during the score-up and was out of position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
NORTHVIEW DAVE NZ hung in around the last turn and a warning was issued.
CASTOR TROY was tightened and raced roughly around the final turn when NORTHVIEW DAVE NZ hung in.
BOULDER CITY had a tendency to strike his own sulky throughout the event. Trainer S Lukac undertook to take remedial action to prevent a recurrence of this.
RACE 5 – TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT STAKES–2200 METRES
AHA REACTION NZ pulled hard in the score-up and was then restrained to the rear of the field before pulling hard throughout the event.
MAJOR GENERALJUJON hung in around the final turn and has been placed on his last chance to race truly.
BOSTON BUSKER finished the race with a flat tyre. Upon review of the replays it was not apparent that any contact was made to the wheel.
After beginning satisfactorily JAMES DEAN NZ has been reinstated in the mobile draw.
RACE 6 –LONGFORD EQUINE CLINIC PACE–2200 METRES
MAJOR ASSASSIN hung in in the score up and was out of position at the start. The gelding has been placed on his last chance in the mobile draw.
MAJOR ASSASSIN underwent a post-race veterinary examination after giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 48 metres. No abnormalities were detected.
After beginning satisfactorily THE DUDE NZ has been reinstated in the mobile draw.
Driver C Bell, (THE DUDE NZ) was fined the sum of $200 after being found guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a) for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
Driver S Edyvean, (SOMEDAN) was fined the sum of $200 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a) for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
RACE 7 – TASSIE WASH PACE–2200 METRES
SUNROSE MASTER galloped away and has been placed on his last chance in the standing start draw.
OZZIE MAJOR galloped away and has been placed out of the draw in future standing starts.
IMAGE OF STARZZZ galloped away and has been placed on his last chance in the standing start draw.
STEVIE JOLT galloped away and has been placed on his last chance in the standing start draw.
RACE 8 – CROWN LAGER PACE–2200 METRES
LIVE FOR PEACE hung in and broke free of interference at the 800 mark and has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
TEE JAY CEE and DON HESTON were both severely checked when LIVE FOR PEACE broke.
LAURENS RUNNER was held up and unable to be fully tested.
SPIKEY BOY NZ was held up and unable to be fully tested.
LIVE FOR PEACE underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 97 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
KARALTA COURAGE underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 56 metres. No abnormalities were detected and acting on the recent race record of this gelding it has been stood down for a period of 14 days and until the completion of two satisfactory trials.
MY CELEBRITY tired to be beaten in excess of 58 metres and has been placed on his last chance to race competitively.
