Trainers with multiple runners engaged in any race were questioned as to their intended driving tactics.

All horses that raced at the Tasmanian Trotting Club meeting on 20/5/22 underwent a veterinary examination and were deemed suitable to race tonight.

RACE 1 – LADBROKES RACING CENTRE– 2200 METRES

DEADLY ASSASSIN pulled hard during the event.

EQUITY STRIDE pulled hard during the event.

THE DEMOCRAT was inconvenienced around the last turn and contacted marker pegs. No action was taken.

Driver N Ford (DEADLY ASSASSIN) was fined the sum of $200 after pleading guilty to a charge of careless driving. Particulars of this charge were that he allowed his horse to progress into a gap at the 400 metres where there was not a full run present and consequently contacted the sulky of BLACKBIRD POWER and broke as a result. 

RACE 2 – COLLINS HOMES PACE – 2200 METRE

ROCKNROLL WIZARD broke shortly after the start and will continue to be out of the draw in future mobile barrier events.

DRAGON BLOOD led and contacted his sulky wheels during the event. Trainer T Rattray was advised to make modifications to his sulky set up to ensure no further occurrences of this.

IDEN DELIGHT raced roughly in the early stages then forced wider at the 400 metre mark before contacting another sulky and breaking.

Driver S Davis (THE GARDENER) was suspended for a period of two race dates after being found guilty of a charge of interference. Particulars of the charge were that he allowed his horse to shift wider on the track at approximately the 400-metre mark obliging the horse on his outside IDEN DELIGHT to move up the track and make contact with the horse on his outside and ultimately gallop.

RACE 3 – DHRC DEVONPORT BELMONT – 1680 METRES

IMA MAKO raced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw

Stewards delayed the all clear on this event to view the official replays of the home straight in regard to CENTURIAN MISS racing inside several marker pegs in the home straight. After viewing the films Stewards were satisfied that no advantage had been gained by CENTURIAN MISS racing inside the pegs and all clear was given on the judges numbers.

Driver S Davis (CENTURIAN MISS) was fined the sum of $100 for allowing his filly to race inside several marker pegs in the home straight.

IMA MAKO tired to be beaten in excess of 102 metres and has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory requalifying trial.

RACE 4 – CUB QUALITY1680 METRES

JOE NIEN had a tendency to hang out around the final time and has been placed on his last chance to race truly.

Trainer C Crook was reprimanded for failing to notify the tactics of his multiple runners in this event

 RACE 5 – TASRACING LEIGH PLUNKETT2200 METRES

MACHS MARETA NZ was held up in the vital stages before gaining clear running in the home straight

Stewards queried driver R Hillier (WITH REVENGE NZ) with regards to his driving tactics, most noticeably the reasons for being a distance from the preceding runner during the event. Mr Hillier stated that he was conscious of the fact that his horse was slightly out of form and he was reluctant to chase his mare too early in the event. WITH REVENGE NZ then battled on well in the run home to finish in third position. Stewards noted Mr Hilliers explanation for future reference.

RACE 6 –LADBROKES SHEFFIELD CUP2698 METRES

EARL JUJON galloped away and has been placed on his last chance in future standing start draw.

After beginning satisfactorily JAMES DEAN NZ has been reinstated in the standing start draw.

After beginning satisfactorily HAYDEN BROMAC NZ has been reinstated in the standing start draw.

BEAST MODE pulled hard during the event.

TAROONA BROMAC NZ hung up the track and contacted the sulky of YOUNG ROOSTER racing down the back straight the last time before breaking. The gelding has been placed on his last chance to race truly.

RACE 7 – LUCAS HOTEL LATROBE CUP2200 METRES

TARLETON RILEY was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.

DAPPER NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.

TARLETON RILEY was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.

DEBT TILL WE PART was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.

THE BLACK ASSASSIN was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.

GRIZZLY MONTANA was held up and unable to be fully tested.

After beginning satisfactorily, THE BLACK ASSASSIN has been reinstated in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 8 – JEREMY ROCKLIFF PACE2200METRES

BENJAMIN NIADH was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.

BEAM ME UP CHOPPER was held up and unable to be fully tested.

RACE 9 – S & M HORSE TRANSPORT1680 METRES

KIKKIMI was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.

BITOSCOTTY was held up and unable to be fully tested.

RAFFAS ACE was held up and unable to be fully tested.

MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS NZ was held up and unable to be fully tested.

LIVE FOR PEACE was held up and unable to be fully tested.

VIGOROSO NZ was held up and unable to be fully tested.

After beginning satisfactorily VIGOROSO NZ has been reinstated in the mobile barrier draw.
