 RACE 1 – LADBROKES IT! PACE- 2YO MAIDEN– 1680M - MOBILE START

INSIDE THREE BARS - Showed gate speed to lead the event.

CARMEN EMJAY - Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader after challenging for the lead.

TERESA DILLON - Raced roughly at the 800m resulting in the driver having to restrain.

UNOBETTER – Had a tendency to race roughly at various stages in the event. Raced roughly over the final stages resulting in the driver having to restrain.  Stewards spoke to trainer Gregory Scott in relation to UNOBETTER’S racing manners.  Mr Scott advised he will try a change of gear to improve the way the gelding performs in future race starts. A warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners and will be monitored by Stewards.

The announcement of all clear was delayed when the stewards wished to view the finish of the event to see if UNOBETTER, who was placed 3rd by the judge, gained an advantage when broke gait and galloped just prior to the finish line. After viewing the official patrol films and taking the margin of half head into consideration, Stewards were satisfied that the driver Dylan Ford restrained the gelding at this point and still had the momentum going forward to finish in third place. Stewards were satisfied with the judge’s placings and all clear was given.

RACE 2 – LADBROKES RACING CLUB STAKES- 2200M - MOBILE START

It was noted that the number 1 barrier arm was inside the peg running line, turning into the front straight prior to the start. This was brought to the starter’s attention.

PHOTO FIRST - Had to be reshod behind the barriers prior to the start. Showed gate speed and hung inwards at various stages. Hung in and contacted a marker peg on the home turn.

FRANCO TYSON - Showed gate speed to lead the event.

SCRUB BASHER - Hung inwards and contacted a marker peg.

MEMPHIS - Restrained at the start and severely checked making the first turn and locked wheels with another runner and broke gait. Trailed the field throughout the event.

DONE WELL - Restrained at the start and inconvenienced making the first turn when drivers had locked wheels in front and shifted inwards to avoid the two sulkies.

MOVESLIKEALADY - Severely checked approaching the first turn and locked wheels with another runner and was retired from the event.

Stewards questioned drivers Rohan Hillier (MOVESLIKEALADY), Kayleb Williams (MEMPHIS) and Mitch Ford (SCRUB BASHER) into the reason why MOVESLIKEALADY broke and locked wheels with MEMPHIS approaching the first turn, resulting in both horses being retired from the event. After taking evidence from all drivers, viewing the official patrol films and acting on their own observations, Stewards charged driver Mitch Ford with causing interference under the provisions of AHRR163(1)(a)(iii), alleging that he shifted inwards making the first turn to gain a position closer to the pegs and caused interference to MOVESLIKALADY (Rohan Hillier), resulting in that filly breaking gait and locking wheels with MEMPHIS (Kayleb Williams). Mitch Ford plead guilty to the charge.  The licence of Mitch Ford to drive in races was suspended for a period of 3 race meetings.  In considering penalty, Stewards took into account Mitch Ford’s previous good record under this rule.

RACE 3 –LADBROKES BLACKBOOK PACE – 2200M - MOBILE START

JAY MILLER - Showed gate speed to lead the event.

ROYAL REACTOR - Showed gate speed and gained the position outside the leader and obtained a trail entering the back straight on the first occasion.

SWEET AMOUR - Caught wide in the early stages and progressed forward to gain the position outside the leader. Obtained a trailing position in the middle stages.

SAPHIRE GAMBLER - Caught wide in the early stages and progressed forward and gained a position outside the leader.

LIFEOFBRIAN NZ - Caught wide in the early stages and restrained to the rear of the field. Pulled hard throughout the event. Was held up for a clear run at the vital stages of the event and shifted in to obtain an inside run.

ITS SUPER EASY NZ - Raced wide in the final stages. Driver Dylan Ford was fined $100 under provisions of AHRR156(2)(a) for his whip action approaching and entering the front straight.

RACE 4 – FIND US ON FACEBOOK PACE – 2200 M - MOBILE START

YARECKON IM SWEET - Showed gate speed.

NOVA BAXTER - Laid inwards entering the front straight under pressure.

JAMES IN CHARGE - Shifted wide on the track to gain clear running from the 600m.

SWIMINTHERIVER - Showed gate speed to lead the event and surrendered the lead shortly after.

ENSTEIN - Held up for a clear run over the concluding stages.

SERENGETI SUNRISE - After showing gate speed and leading, surrendered the leading position in the home straight to receive the bell.

MONEY NO ISSUE - Showed gate speed and raced wide, then progressed forward and raced outside the leader.

BETTER EXCLUSIVE - Left a trailing position to race three-wide in the middle stages to lead the event in the front straight to receive the bell.

RACE 5 – COLLINS HOMES GRANNY SMITH FINAL – 2698M – MOBILE START

MOTH HUNTER - Showed gate speed.

GYPSY AMOUR - Raced three-wide in the middle and latter stages.

SCARLET PLACE - Raced wide in the early stages and gained the position outside the leader.

REELY NAUTI - Raced outside the leader and obtained a trailing position in the middle stages. Pulled hard in the trailing position. Left a trailing position to race three-wide in the late stages and sat outside the leader.

IYLAC PAKARIA - Out of position at the start. Driver Mitch Ford was fined $200 under the provisions of AHRR162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position.

IDEN LADY LINC - Out of position at the start. Driver Rohan Hiller was fined $100 under the provisions of AHRR162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position.

NANCY’S HOPE - Out of position at the start. Driver Rohan Hadley was reprimanded under the provisions of AHRR162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account his excellent record under this rule.

RACE 6  –  DARREL ROCKLIFF GRADUATE PACE –  2200M – MOBILE START

MISS PAPENHUYZEN - Showed gate speed to lead the event.

STEPPING STONES - Showed gate speed.

JUST TIGER - After showing gate speed and sitting outside the leader, obtained a trailing position after ROCKANDAHARDPLACE worked forward. Held up for a clear run over the vital stages of the event.

ROCKANDAHARDPLACE - Raced wide in the early stages and went forward to sit outside the leader. Raced roughly entering the home turn.

THE SHALLOWS - Restrained at the start and was caught wide and was restrained to the rear.

KIVIK - Restrained at the start.

BLITZERN - Shifted outwards at the 400m to gain a clear run.

MAGICIAN - Left a trailing position in the middle stages to race outside the leader.

RACE 7 – TASFREIGHT RAIDER STAKES FINAL – 2698M- MOBILE START

HERES HENRY - Showed gate speed.

CAMELOT JEDIMASTER - Showed gate speed to sit outside the leader.

DE GOEY – Broke gait when placed in restricted racing room by another runner leaving the back straight on the first occasion. Left a trailing position at the rear of the field to race wide from the 800m.

NANCESTIGER - Raced wide in the early stages. Hung inwards despite the driver’s efforts.

KARALTA ARTEMIS - Broke in the middle part of the score up resulting in the gelding being well out of position at the start. Broke free of interference racing in the front straight. When questioned, trainer Kent Rattray could not offer any explanation for the geldings racing manners on this occasion and was advised the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to its next race start and will be placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.

NORBET - Held up for a clear run entering the front straight for the run to the finish.

Stewards questioned drivers Rohan Hillier (DE GOEY) and Charlie Castles (NANCESTIGER) into reasons why DE GOEY broke gait racing towards the front straight on the first occasion. After taking evidence from both drivers, viewing official patrol films and acting on their own observations, Stewards believed NANCETIGER had a tendency to lay inwards resulting in driver Charlie Castles having to try and straighten the gelding. CAMELOT JEDIMASTER (Kayleb Williams) who was racing inside DE GOEY moved out marginally at this stage and may have contributed to this incident.  Driver Rohan Hillier believed that although placed in restricted room, DE GOEY should not have broken gait and there was no contact to the gelding. Stewards did not take any action on this occasion however advised driver Charlie Castles a greater effort may have been taken to allow more room and took into account the track conditions in this incident.  DE GOEY was placed on its last chance to race truly.

RACE 8 – BEAUTIDE 3YO PRELUDE– 2200M - MOBILE START

SWIATEK LEIS - After showing gate speed surrendered the lead in the back straight on the first occasion. Shifted in under pressure inconveniencing SMOOTH MACHETE just prior to the finish line.

TAMBROS TILLY - Held up for a clear run in the early part of the home straight and shifted out to gain a clear run.

CUZZY BRO - Inconvenienced in the early part of the score up. Showed gate speed.

HAZEWILLREV - Broke in the score up and was placed out of the draw in future mobile start events.

SMOOTH MACHETE - Gate speed at the start and raced wide to gain the position outside the leader. Inconvenienced on the finish line.

BETTABLACK TIGER - Restrained at the start. Raced roughly at the 1400m mark and had to be restrained.

VINCENZO - Restrained at the start and caught wide. Raced three-wide in the latter stages.

Stewards questioned drivers Dylan Ford (SMOOTH MACHETE) and Todd Rattray (SWIATEK LEIS) into reasons why SMOOTH MACHETE momentarily blundered on the finish line. After taking evidence from both drivers, viewing official patrol films and acting on their own observations, Stewards charged driver Todd Rattray with careless driving under the provisions of AHRR168(1)(a), alleging that he allowed his horse SWIATEK LEIS to shift in and inconvenience SMOOTH MACHETE.  Todd Rattray plead guilty to the charge and was fined $100.  In considering penalty, Stewards took into consideration Todd Rattray’s previous good record under this rule.

RACE 9 - LADBROKES EASY FORM STAKES – 1680M - MOBILE START

MOST PERFECT MAJOR - Raced wide late.

FIVE STAR SHARK - Showed gate speed to lead the event.

BOTANY BAY WARRIOR - After showing gate speed gained the position outside the leader. Obtained a trial in the middle stages.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO - Restrained at the start. Held up for a clear run in the home straight.

SMOOTH DEAL NZ - Restrained at the start. Hung in and contacted marker pegs entering the front straight on the first occasion.

MACH ANGELO - Restrained at the start and caught wide and went forward to sit outside the leader. Pulled hard during the event.

IMPULZE - Pulled hard throughout the event.

Race 10 - VIZPIX BROADCAST SERVISES PACE - 1680M - MOBILE START

ROYAL APPOINTMENT - Showed gate speed to lead the event.

KHAKI NUI NZ - Restrained at the start.

MESSERATI – Sat outside the leader after showing early speed and pulled hard in the run.

Gave ground over the concluding stages. Trainer Wayne Yole advised Stewards the gelding will be sent for a break.

MAJOR DAVIN – Raced wide from the 800m.

JEREMY WELLS - Restrained at the start.

WE SALUTE YOU - Restrained at the start.
