RACE 1 – LADBROKES RACING CLUB TWO-YEAR-OLD – 1680m Mobile
OUR WILLOW – Raced rough after the start. Tired over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 70 metres. A post-race Veterinary inspection found the filly displaying solid upper respiratory sounds. Stewards acting on Veterinary advice stood OUR WILLOW down from racing until connections forward on a favourable Veterinary clearance certificate, which includes a satisfactory endoscopic report.
VINNI THE GANGSTER – Having its first registered race start. Raced green in the score-up, contributing to the gelding being back from its allotted position at the start. A warning was issued. Subjected to post-race blood sampling for TCO2 analysis.
SHEZALLLOLLIES– Stewards questioned trainer S Davis over the performance of SHEZALLLOLLIES, which after racing in a marker line position failed to run on over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 50 metres. Trainer Davis explained that he was not overly disappointed with the filly’s performance, stating that at this stage of her racing career SHEZALLLOLLIES lacks the top speed to keep up with her competitors, particularly over the final stages, however added he believes the filly is on the improve. The evidence was noted as tendered.
IDEN REGAL WAVE – Raced wide throughout.
RACE 2 – BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS FUNCTION WITH US FOR 1 DECEMBER STAKES – 2200m Mobile
FREMONT STREET – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field, once in this position tended to over-race and pull hard.
GYPSY AMOUR – Began well to be positioned outside the leader, gave ground sharply leaving the 500, beaten in excess of 130 metres. A post-race Veterinary inspection could find no obvious abnormalities. Stewards questioned connections regarding the performance who acknowledged their disappointment, indicating that armed with the knowledge of the performance of its stablemate, OUR WILLOW, in Race 1, they intend to have both GYPSY AMOUR and OUR WILLOW examined by their private Veterinary Surgeon. Stewards deemed the performance of GYPSY AMOUR well below the required standard and as such stood the mare down pending connections forwarding on a favorable Veterinary clearance certificate.

General: Stewards questioned driver T Hillier regarding his movement with DIDYALOUSAROOSTA closer to the markers shortly after the start, which appeared to tighten the running of KARALTA ARTEMIS. On hearing evidence from driver Hillier, and reviewing the official race footage, Stewards noted the following: KARALTA ARTEMIS had raced rough a number of times during the score-up, dropping back from its allotted position, in particular shortly before the start. As a result of KARALTA ARTEMIS losing ground driver Hillier shifted in behind the leader, at or about the same time KARALTA ARTEMIS returned to a pace and gained ground quickly, these combined movements resulted in both geldings being driven for the one position and KARALTA ARTEMIS being tightened for racing room. Stewards after considering all the circumstances, gave the benefit of the doubt to driver Hillier taking no action other than to issue a reprimand for careless driving and remind him of obligations when changing racing lines, particularly in the early stages of a race [AHR Rule 168(1)(a)].
General: Stewards questioned drivers T Hillier (DIDYALOUSAROOSTA) and N Ford (SWIMINTHERIVER NZ) into the reason why, shortly after entering the first turn, DIDYALOUSAROOSTA broke gait, Stewards, after considering the evidence tendered by the drivers, reviewing the official race footage and taking their own observations into account, charged driver Ford for “crossing” with SWIMINTHERIVER NZ, to a position behind the leader, however when doing so, failing to adhere to the required tolerances as specified in AHR Rule 165 and thereby causing DIDYALOUSAROOSTA to be checked by its driver before contacting the sulky of SWIMINTHERIVER NZ, with the ultimate result being SWIMINTHERIVER NZ breaking gait. Driver Ford originally pled not guilty, but on reflection changed his plea to guilty, and Stewards after hearing submissions on penalty, suspended driver Ford’s licence to drive for four(4) Tasmanian Race Dates, making him eligible to resume race driving on Monday December 2nd, 2024 [AHR Rule 163(1)(a)(i)].
RACE 5 – 6TY BANDBOX PRELUDE – 2200m Mobile

RACE 6 – NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS GLOBE DERBY PRELUDE – 2200m Mobile
SERIOUSLY SAM – Inconvenienced when momentarily locking wheels with VINCENZO which was improving to its outside when full of running approaching the 200.
IDEN KAMAKAZI – Raced wide from the 1800, progressing forward before positioned outside the leader approaching the 1400. Gave ground over the concluding stages. Subjected to a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no obvious issues.
VINCENZO – Held up for clear running on the home turn and when easing wider in search of clear running momentarily locked wheels with SERIOUSLY SAM approaching the 200.
ROCK AMOUR – Reinstated in the barrier draw for races conducted under mobile start conditions after satisfying reinclusion requirements.
STRANDED LOLLIPOP – Will continue to be excluded from the barrier draw in mobile start events after failing to fill its allotted position at the start.
General: Stewards questioned driver J Duggan over his tactics on, and overall performance of, IDEN KAMAKAZI. Accompanying driver Duggan was trainer A Duggan. Driver Duggan stated that after securing the one-out, one-back position early, VINCENZO, which was positioned leading the one-out line was significantly restrained giving the impression that driver J Watson was looking for cover, and as such driver Duggan elected to race wide around the field. Adding to this decision was the knowledge that MIKI SANZ had also been switched wider to improve and driver Duggan felt that after being placed leading the one-out line he would again receive cover with MIKI SANZ’s improvement. These tactics however went astray as driver Watson urged VINCENZO forward, holding IDEN KAMAKAZI wide for 400 metres, and enabling MIKI SANZ to return to a midfield trailing position. Finally, on being questioned on the performance, driver Duggan stated that the effort required to race wide and find the position leading the one-out line, ultimately had an adverse effect on IDEN KAMAKAZI, contributing to the gelding giving ground over the concluding staged. Stewards on considering the evidence of driver Duggan took no action other than to note the circumstance believing the tactics adopted although not proving profitable were reasonable under the circumstances.
RACE 7 – LADBROKES BLACKBOOK FFA – 2200m Mobile
MAGNETIC TERROR NZ – Shifted out after the start checking GLENLEDI ELVIS NZ.

General: Driver J Chibnall pled guilty to a charge of careless driving through failing to keep MAGNETIC TERROR NZ from shifting ground shortly after the start, which resulted in contact with her sulky to the near-hind leg of GLENLEDI ELVIS NZ causing that gelding to break gait, inconveniencing other runners. Stewards after considering driver Chibnall’s guilty plea and her driving record fined her $300 [AHR Rule 168(1)(a)].
RACE 8 – FAMILY FUN DAY SUNDAY 1 DECEMBER PACE– 1680m Mobile
SERENGETI SUNRISE– Broke gait early in the score-up and failed to settle resulting in the gelding failing to fill its allotted position at the start, effectively taking no competitive part in the event. SERENGETI SUNRISE will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.

A GOOD RED – Had difficulty in securing clear running over the concluding stages.
ARTS CLASSIC– Forced to race wide from the 800, gave ground over the concluding stages, beaten in excess of 100 metres. A post-race Veterinary Examination failed to detect any adverse findings. On questioning trainer S Davis over the performance of ARTS CLASSIC stated that the gelding can prove to be a difficult horse to drive and can simply switch off mid-race, adding that ARTS CLASSIC is best suited to racing around the smaller Burnie track. Stewards gave the benefit of the doubt over the performance based on the evidence and the fact ARTS CLASSIC, however informed trainer Davis they would be in contact to see how the gelding had faired over the ensuing days.
ONLINE MODEL– Subjected to a post-race Veterinary Examination after tiring badly, beaten in excess of 120 metres. On examination ONLINE MODEL was found to have a heavy nasal discharge. Stewards acting under Veterinary advice, stood ONLINE MODEL down from racing until connections can forward on a Veterinary Clearance.
