Trainers with multiple runners in a race advised Stewards of intended tactics.

RACE 1 –   LU RAIDER TWO-YEAR-OLD - 1680M MS

A post-race veterinary examination of HEY FRANCO (D. Ford) which gave ground with a lap to run and beaten 499 Metres revealed an extremely elevated heart rate for a considerable time after the race. Trainer advised a veterinary clearance required and gelding stood down until he completes a satisfactory trial.

Reins person C. Salter (IDEN MISSWORLD) raced inside marker peg home turn final occasion and Salter advised to exercise more care.

RACE 2 –GOING SOUTH STAKES – 1680M MS

DANCINWIVJOLENE (R. Hillier) inclined shift ground up the track over final stages of race.

DEBT TILL WE PART (P. Williams) held for clear run to finish of race.

RACE 3 – BETTY LEE PACE - 2200M MS

KEAYANG GALLIANO (J. Chibnall) which galloped shortly after start excluded from draw mobile barrier start races.

RACE 4 –LADBROKES BIG BETS STAKES – 1680M MS

CAMELOT JEDIMASTER (G. Rattray) hung inwards and contacted offside sulky wheel of HAY MIKI (G. Jones) home turn final occasion and galloped. A warning issued.

Reins person G. Jones fined $200 for using whip in more than a flicking motion. R 156 (2) (a).

RACE 5 –DOUG MARTIN DANBURY PARK CUP – 2698M SS

Start delayed allowing an overseas race to be run.

Stewards fined J. Walters (ROCKANDANDAHARDPLACE) $50 for allowing his horse to breast the tape prior to start being called 162 (1)(b). A warning placed on ROCKANDAHARDPLACE for hanging outwards back straight final occasion and allowing inside run to PARDOE PLUGGER. On home turn when tiring ROCKANDAHARDPLACE raced inside marker pegs.

The front barrier tape was slow to clear PARDOE PLUGGER (C. Castles) which shied at the tape.

Warnings placed on TOLD YOU TWICE (J. Duggan) and TRIPLE VINNIES (D. Ford) which commenced poorly.

ANYTHING GOES (H. Van Dongen) and GLENLEDI ELVIS (J. Chibnall) which commenced poorly will continue to be excluded from draw.

Stewards J. Chibnall and L. Older (IRON CLAD) as to reason GLENLEDI ELVIS galloped approaching 400 Metres. After taking evidence from all drivers, viewing films and acting upon their observations Stewards fined J. Chibnall $100 for taking a run between ANYTHING GOES and IRON CLAD where there was restricted room R 168 (1) (a).

RACE 6 –SHIRLEY MARTIN MOTHER OF PEARL – 2200M MS

No racing incidents.

RACE 7 –MERRY CHRISTMAS STAKES -1680M MS

 KARALTA ARTEMIS (J. Walters) which galloped in score up will continue excluded from draw.

LIFEINTHEBALANCE (J. Chibnall) out of position at star continue excluded from draw.

DIDYALOUSAROOSTA (J. Duggan) and NANCESTIGER (C. Castles) held up for clear runs over concluding stages.

RACE 8 – LOGAN DERBY PACE – 1680M MS

Stewards informed Trainer A. Duggan (ALWAYS AURORA) placed on gelding which was reluctant to enter the racetrack.

When questioned H. Van Dongen (BARNY BILL) stated that the murphy blind became detached early in the race and gelding raced inside marker pegs as it proved difficult to control.

Stewards cautioned M. Yole (PUNTARNO STRIDE) for when shifting outwards to gain clear running tightening ground of MODERN JIVE (G. Rattray) who had MOVESLIKEALADY (R. Hillier) racing tight to his outside.
