RACE 1 – GREAT NORTHERN SUPER CRISP STAKES– 2200 METRES
SAFE UNDER FIRE galloped in the score-up and was out of position at the start and has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
LESYA hung in and contacted marker pegs on the home turn. A warning was issued.
MISS TYLER underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 140 metres and was found to have suffered a mild attack of the thumps. MISS TYLER has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory Stewards trial.
RACE 2 – FAITHFUL PARK STUD STAKES –2200 METRES
Driver P Williams (IDEN DELIGHT) was fined the sum of $200 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a). Particulars were that he used his whip with more than a wrist only flicking action.
RAFFAS ACE underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 60 metres. No abnormalities were detected and after taking into account the geldings recent race record he has been stood down for 14 days and until the completion of 2 satisfactory trials.
RACE 3 – TRAINERS ENCOURAGEMENT PACE – 2200 METRES
STREZLECKI WATUSI was held up over the concluding stages.
THE ATHERLETE hung in and contacted a marker peg. A warning was issued.
MISTA EAGLE hung in late in the score-up before restraining to race at the rear of the field and was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
Stewards questioned driver N Emery(BAROOGA ROCK) regarding the performance of this mare. Ms Emery stated that although BAROOGA ROCK had had a trial before resuming, she was of the opinion that the mare would benefit from the race tonight. Stewards noted her comments.
RACE 4 – IMPRESS PRINT TWO YEAR OLD–1680 METRES
HERAKLES broke in the score-up and caused a false start. HERAKLES has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
No action was taken against WAVES STRIDE being slightly out of position at the start at the second attempt due to the previous false start.
No action was taken against PROMISE STRIDE being slightly out of position at the start at the second attempt due to the previous false start.
An inquiry into the reasons for NAURU being tightened and checked racing around the first turn will be heard at a later date.
IMHOOKED tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 71 metres and has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
RACE 5 – CROWN LAGER - AUSTRALIA'S FINEST PACE–2200 METRES
HURRICANE ROCK hung in and contacted a marker peg around the final turn. A warning was issued.
IMPULZE contacted a marker peg around the final turn. A warning was issued.
IMPULZE broke free of interference around the final turn and has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
HURRICANE ROCK was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
SOUTHSHORE NZ contacted the sulky of PLAYFUL MISS and broke when the pace slackened approaching the 1400 metre mark.
RANGER STRIDE underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a dislodged tooth
RACE 6 –BEVAN LEE'S BUTCHERY GOLDEN MILE–1680 METRES
PARDOE PLUGGA pulled hard when racing outside the leader.
SIMILAN BEACH was caught three wide throughout the event.
EUREKA NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
BE MAJOR THREAT was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
RACE 7 – LADBROKES RACING CENTRE PACE–1680 METRES
FIGHTING FIRE was out of position at the start and will be placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
FOREGONE CONCLUSION NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight
CHRISTIAN JAZ NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight
ULTIMATE ME NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight
ARTYBOY GLENWOOD was held up and unable to be fully tested
PROFICIENT NZ was held up and unable to be fully tested
RACE 8 – LAUNCESTON VETERINARY GROUP STAKES–2200 METRES
VIGOROSO NZ broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start before taking no competitive part in the event. VIGOROSO NZ has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
ALTA CASSINO NZ hung in and contacted a marker peg. A warning was issued.
GORDIEVSKY LEIS sustained a flat tyre when his sulky was contacted at the 900 metre mark.
IM ROCK SOLID was checked and broke at the 900 metre mark
COOL SCOOTER NZ tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 80 metres and has been placed on his last chance to race competitively.
JUNIPER tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 65 metres and has been placed on his last chance to race competitively.
Driver H Van Dongen was suspended for a period of three race dates after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR163(1)(a)(iii). Particulars of the charge were that approaching the 900 metre mark she shifted her horse (BELIEVE IN FOREVER) away from the marker pegs when insufficiently clear of IM ROCK SOLID causing this horse to be severely checked and then break.
RACE 9 – LONGFORD EQUINE CLINIC PACE–2200 METRES
After beginning satisfactorily CLASSIE AMERICAN NZ has been reinstated in the mobile barrier draw.
BAO NIEN underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bled from both nostrils. BAO NIEN has been stood down for a period of three months and until a veterinary clearance is produced before completing a satisfactory trial before being eligible to race again.
RACE 10 – LADBROKE STAKES–2200 METRES
No racing incidents to report.
