Trainers with multiple runners in a race advised Stewards of intended tactics.
RACE 1 – LAUNCESTON TRAVEL AND CRUISE CENTRE STAKES - 1680M MS
A warning placed on SOHO PINA COLADA (J. Chibnall) which galloped approaching front straight first occasion.
Stewards reprimanded J. Duggan (SHEEZA SOHO) for racing inside marker peg approaching the finish of race. R 163 (1) (c) (i).
SHIBASAKI (R. Hillier) hung inwards when wide on track leaving back straight final occasion.
RACE 2 –LADBROKES BIG BETS PACE - 2200M MS
MUZZAMATE (R. Hillier) contacted marker peg home turn to receive the bell.
BARBETTE (M. Yole) had a minor laceration to its tongue however required no veterinary.
RACE 3 – VIZPIZ BROADCAST SERVISCES PACE - 1680M MS
TALK IS CHEAP (L. Older) and ALBERIO (G. Rattray) held up for clear running over final stages.
RACE 4 –IMPRESS PRINT STAKES - 2200M MS
LIFEINTHEBALANCE started from barrier seven as due to an administrative error had been drawn in field when an ODM draw horse.
Post-race veterinary examinations of DAZZLE ME (D. Ford), MODERN JIVE (H. Van Dongen) and ART HUNTSMAN (L. Hooper) which all performed poorly revealed no abnormalities. Trainers advised not start these horses until they can perform competitively.
Stewards advised L. Older to modify whip action and not to allow his body to be outside confines of the sulky.
RACE 5 –TASMANIAN HORSE TRANSPORT STAKES - 1680M MS
No racing incidents.
RACE 6 –VICTORY IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHY PACE – 2200M MS
Stewards questioned H. Van Dongen (MACH ANGELO) as to why she went to the head of one out line with 1600 Metres to run and then gave ground near the 500 Metres. Ishe stated that her instructions were to go forward if the speed came off as her drive has previously performed well when driven in a similar manner however tonight it had been disappointing. Stewards advised her they had concern with her drive.
RACE 7 –LADBROKES QUICK MUTI PACE - 2200M MS
No racing incidents.
