ONEHANDONEBOUNCE – Disappointed for clear running in the early stages of the home straight in the run to the finish.
MAGOMEDOV – Disappointed for clear running in the early stages of the home straight in the run to the finish.
IDEN BLACK PRINCE – Checked on the first turn when DEBT TILL WE PART broke gait.
DEBT TILL WE PART – Placed on its last chance to race truly after breaking gait, free of interference, on the first turn.
PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ – Checked on the first turn when DEBT TILL WE PART broke gait. Disappointed for clear running until well into the home straight.
General: The ‘All-Clear’ was delayed at the request of J Watson, the driver of JUMPING JOLT, as he had concerns with an incident late on the final turn where his sulky wheel locked with that of GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE. On review, no objection was lodged, and the Stewards declared the ‘All-Clear’ on the Judge’s numbers 9-8-11-10-13.
Stewards, in assessing driver Watson’s concerns, believed that rounding the turn, near the 300, three horses all had shifted in, namely, MACH ANGELO, GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE and JUMPING JOLT and after MACH ANGELO, which was racing to the inside of the other two runners, was corrected by its driver, this brought all three together causing tight racing. This resulted of the sulky wheels of GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE and JUMPING JOLT, initially crossing in behind each other, but as the race progressed and the horses were placed under pressure by their drivers, the sulky wheels locked for a short distance, and when disengaging both horses raced rough, particularly JUMPING JOLT as GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE shifted up the track into its running line. Stewards took no action over the events racing from the 300 as there were multiple factors all contributing to the congestion from that point until well after straightening for the run to the finish.
General: Racing near the 100, due to simultaneous movement of MAGOMEDOV and PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ, N Ford the driver of PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ was obliged to check away from MAGOMEDOV. This movement resulted in other runners being checked to varying degrees, in particular’ MACH ANGELO, which raced rough.

LOU LOUS ALLGOLD was subsequently stood down from racing until satisfactorily completing one qualifying trial.
