RACE 1 – HOLLINGWORTH CRANE HIRE SERVICE MAIDEN PACE – 1710 metres

COULDNT CATCH HIM– Raced roughly rounding the first turn.  Inconvenienced approaching the 1000 metres as the speed of the event eased.  Inconvenienced approaching the 600 metres as SASSY MIA was commencing to give ground.  Jostled passing the 600 metres for a short distance with ARMA THE GREAT when shifting wider on the track.

TIGER LOLA– Pre-race blood test.

SASSY MIA– Driver Harrison Ross was questioned in regards to the driving tactics and the overall performance of the filly, after beginning well SASSY MIA continued on in a strong first quarter (28.3 seconds) when being challenged for the lead by ILLUSTRATION before surrendering the lead to that gelding passing approximately the 1200 metres. The filly then commenced to tire from the 650 metres before being retired from the event at the 300 metres.  Mr Ross explained that the filly was driven the same at Canberra at its previous start where SASSY MIA had performed well however felt the filly was extremely disappointing in today’s event.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly had tied up.  Acting on veterinary advice SASSY MIA was stood down for a period of 14 days and will also be required to perform one requalifying trial.

TRISTAR FOR CHRIS– Post-race swab.

ILLUSTRATION– Driver Zara Fitzpatrick was questioned in regards to her driving tactics and the overall performance of the gelding, after challenging for the lead before working forward to the front passing the 1200 metres.  Ms Fitzpatrick explained that it was the intentions of connections to drive ILLUSTRATION forward if possible to find the front as the gelding has a tendency to over race when driven with cover.  Ms Fitzpatrick felt the gelding was disappointing and the stable would reconsider how the horse would be driven in future starts. 

ARMA THE GREAT– Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1200 metres.  Engaged in a jostle passing the 600 metres as a result of COULDNT CATCH HIM moving away from the marker pegs.

MICKEY BE NIMBLE– Checked and broke approaching the 1000 metres as a result of the pace of the event easing.

 

RACE 2 – SUN SOLUTIONS HOME IMPROVEMENT GOULBURN TROTTERS MOBILE – 1710 metres

DAIMYO– Pre-race blood test.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

ONE PINEVALE HILL– Broke on two separate occasions firstly passing the 700 metres and then again passing the 300 metres.  Given the overall record of the mare ONE PINEVALE HILL will now be required to perform two requalifying trials and stood down for a period of 10 days.

PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ– Driver Glenn McElhinney was questioned in regards to the overall performance of PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ.  Mr McElhinney explained that it was the intention to drive mare with cover however PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ commenced to over race and was left in a position without cover which contributed to the overall performance when the mare tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 62.8 metres.

LAIR OF THE EAGLE– Inconvenienced passing the 450 metres as a result of KEEPER OFTHEPLAINS breaking gait.  Post-race swab.

TARENTAISE– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1250 metres.

KEEPER OFTHEPLAINS– Become unbalanced and broke gait passing the 450 metres for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 3 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS NSW PACE – 1710 metres

BELLRIVERGIRL– Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 61.2 metres for which a warning was issued.

ALL STAR MAGICIAN– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1350 metres.

TOP THE ACE– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  A false start was declared when the starter identified driver Allan Forrest had failed to properly affix his racing helmet.  At a subsequent inquiry driver Allan Forrest pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 159A(1) for failing to affix his helmet and was fined the sum of $400.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 82.3 metres.  In view of the overall performance the gelding TOP THE ACE will be required to perform one requalifying trial.

BETTOR BE LUCKY– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Pre-race blood test.

FIFTYSHADES CRESCO– Post-race swab.

 

RACE 4 – GOULBURN HAY SUPPLIES TWO YEAR OLD MAIDEN PACE – 1710 metres

KINGSTON RAINBOW– Driver Robert Morris was questioned in regards to the overall performance of KINGSTON RAINBOW after failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 65.4 metres.  Mr Morris felt that the gelding may have been hitting its knee which contributed to the colt racing roughly rounding the final turn, he also felt the colt’s performance was disappointing.  In view of the performance Stewards issued KINGSTON RAINBOW with its last chance to race truly.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ART SPACE– Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

GET US A TINNY– Driver Josh Gallagher was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that, passing the 450 metres he placed the filly into restricted when attempting to take a run between KINGSTON RAINBOW and TIGERMAC.

LIT THE WICK– Driver Taylah Osmond was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) in that passing the 300 metres she has allowed that runner to contact the sulky of GET US A TINNY causing the gelding to be checked and race roughly.  In taking no further action Stewards were mindful of the fact that GIVE US A TINNY at that stage had eased its pace, however felt that Ms Osmond could have done more to avoid the contact.

 

RACE 5 – RSM ACCOUNTANTS GOULBURN PACE – 1710 metres

ZOLTON– Post-race swab.

THE MALDIVES– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.

BENTLY BULLET– Pre-race blood test. 

JUST ROCKNROLL– Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 6 – SEIB RACING PACE – 1710 metres

MIGHTY JOLT– Post-race swab.

HOTDELIGHT– Pre-race blood test.  Checked and raced roughly approaching the 200 metres as a result of SHARK DANCER shifting wider on the track.

NIFTY RONALD– Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres.

SHARK DANCER– Driver Sebastian Piltz pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 200 metres he has allowed SHARK DANCER to shift wider on the track when not sufficiently clear of HOTDELIGHT causing that runner to be checked and race roughly.  Driver Sebastian Piltz had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of seven days to commence midnight 5 December 2024.  In assessing penalty Stewards considered Mr Plitz’s plea, record in relation to the rule and the circumstances of this incident.

 

RACE 7 – ASPIRE TRAFFIC OFFENDERS COURSE HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1710 metres

POPS JOY– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres.  Post-race swab.

CONSIDER IT DONE– Worked forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1400 metres.  Driver Graeme Watts was cautioned for his whip use in the early stages of the home straight.

PENCIL ME IN– Locked wheels with ELECTRA GIRL passing the 300 metres.

SKYE MARY MAC NZ– Trainers Dean and Kerry McDowell were fined the sum of $50 under rule 210 for failing to advise Lleyton Green as the driver of the mare by the prescribed time.  Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.  Inconvenienced passing the 300 metres as a result of ELECTRA GIRL and PENCIL ME IN locking wheels.

ELECTRA GIRL– Pre-race blood test.  Locked wheels with PENCIL ME IN passing the 300 metres. 

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2240 metres

MAJOR ALLEGIANCE– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.  Post-race swab.

ZEN MASTER– Caught three wide before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres. 

ROCK THE NATION NZ– Pre-race blood test.

 

RACE 9 – GOULBURN SOLDIERS CLUB PACE – 1710 metres

OUR GEORGE BOSTON– Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.

MONEYS ON MATILDA– Pre-race blood test.  Shifted out under pressure.

THE METAL FLYER– Post-race swab.

AERONAUT NZ– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having not started with in excess of 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ARK ALERT– Driver Harrison Ross was questioned in regards to his driving tactics.  Of concern to the Stewards was Mr Ross’ decision to elect to move three wide passing the 1300 metres in an endeavour to find a position outside the leader before being restrained in the middle stages to the rear of the field passing the 950 metres.  Mr Ross explained his gelding races best when outside the leader or in a forward position and passing the 1300 metres felt THE METAL FLYER was a length and a half back from the leader and may have been looking for cover, however he quickly realised when THE METAL FLYER moved forward that position was unavailable and as a result restrained the gelding to the rear of the field.  When considering evidence Stewards believed Mr Ross had erred in judgement for his drive on ARK ALERT but not culpable to the degree to warrant any further action to be taken.
