STEWARDS REPORT FOR KILMORE MEETING

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 BERALDO COFFEE 0-2 LTW PACE (2180 MS)

Feng Shui Star- contacted marker pegs near the 200 metres.

Firecracker Nola- pre race swab samples taken.

Freak Out- hung in after the start for some distance- warning issued.

Im Jimmy Jones- hung out at various stages

Letsgo Big Girl- withstood a challenge in the middle stages, then gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten

Bettorsweetvictory- began badly and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw.

Followtheace- hung out in the back straight on the first occasion.

RACE 2 GEORGINA & CO  PACE ( 2180 MS)

Emjaybee- pulled hard in running, then gave ground over the concluding stages.

Love In A Chevy- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to his age and number of lifetime starts- no abnormalities apparent.

Azor Ahai NZ- pre race swab samples taken. Held up around the home turn.

Khans Creed- pulled hard whilst racing outside the leader.

RACE 3 – O’BRIEN ELECTRICAL PACE (1690 MS)

 Lady In Line- tightened and contacted marker pegs on the first turn. Pulled hard in running and held up around the home turn before utilising the sprint lane.

I Of The Hurricane- trainer Michael Laugher was cautioned for failing to notify the intended tactics of his multiple runners.

Budd Sidewinder- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to his number of lifetime starts – no abnormalities apparent. Momentarily tightened as Lady Lani crossed to the one out line towards the first turn.

Lady Lani- raced outside the leader before commencing to tire from the back straight, and shifted out in the back straight despite the efforts of driver Alannah Logie. A post race veterinary examination indicated no apparent abnormalities.Given the beaten margin of over 100 metres the mare was stood down from racing pending the completion of a satisfactory trial. Driver Alannah Logie was cautioned for momentarily tightening the running of Budd Sidewinder towards the first turn, and then  for tightening Lady In Line resulting in the sulky wheel of that runner contacting two marker pegs on the first turn.

Our Rebel Yell- post race swab samples taken.

Somebeachdreamin- pre race swab samples taken. Driver Anthony Butt did not appear in the racebook.

Deuce Coupe NZ- broke on two occasions in the score up, was out of position  at the start and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw.

Gottahaveahobbie- hung in, raced roughly and contacted marker pegs near the 400 metres. Driver George Schembri was then cautioned for allowing the gelding to race with his inside sulky wheel inside marker pegs near the 200 metres. Mr Schembri advised that he would look to effect gear changes before next racing to have the gelding pace more tractably.

 

RACE 4 – BROADSTEAD KILMORE 2YO MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)

Emjay Jazz- trainer Marnie Bibby was cautioned for failing to have the filly’s freezebrand clipped.

Texan Branach- raced roughly, hung in and then broke approaching the first turn- placed on his last chance to race truly.

Platinums Boy- inconvenienced by the galloping Texan Branach into the first turn.

Sandsting- trainer Chris Svanosio was cautioned for failing to notify the intended driving tactics of his multiple runners.

Captain Moore- driver Michael Stanley was fined $200 pursuant to AHRR 156(2)(a) for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.

Neon Tiger- inconvenienced into the first turn. Tired to be beaten 66 metres- warning issued.

 

RACE 5 – JET ROOFING TROT (2180 MS)

Brother Joseph- trotted roughly before breaking near the 350 metres- warning issued.

Lavengers Boy- tired to be beaten 90 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Driver Anthony Butt could offer no explanation for the performance, other than that the gelding may not have handled the track conditions.

Rocky Valley- paced in the score up and  was out of position at the start- placed out of the mobile barrier draw.

Roll With Rosco- will remain  out of the draw at the trainer’s request. Out of position at the start.

Its Not Love Me- out of position at the start and will remain out of the mobile barrier draw. Broke racing into the first turn and trailed the field thereafter.

 

RACE 6 – DLO PLUMBING 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)

Skadi- paced roughly around the home turn.

Ta Kalche- post race swab samples taken.

Alamo- driver Chris Shinn was fined $100 pursuant to AHRR 156(3) for exceeding the permitted number of whip uses over the final 200 metres.

Hello Sweetheart- driver Alex Ashwood was fined $200 pursuant to AHRR 156(2)(a) for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion when driving out upon entering the home straight. In addition Mr Ashwood was fined $200 pursuant to AHRR 156(3) for using his whip on more than the permitted number of uses over the final 200 metres. In determining penalty a  prior offence under the same rule within the preceding 28 days was noted.

Hey Gigi- driver Anthony Butt was not listed in the racebook. Broke in the score up, out of position at the start and will continue out of the mobile barrier draw.

 

 

 

RACE 7 - C&M BUILD GROUP TROT (1690 MS)

Aldebaran Selena- pulled hard in the score up, then broke as the start was effected and took charge of driver Leilani Justice. When unable to restrain the mare racing  into the first turn Ms Justice cleared the front runners and directed the mare up the track out of the path of the field where the mare continued to gallop for an extended  distance. The mare was placed out of the mobile barrier draw and was stood down from racing pending the completion of a satisfactory trial.

Midnight Avenger- driver Chris Alford was cautioned for his use of the whip outside the confines of the sulky near the 250 metres.

Luna- trotted roughly in the score up and out of position at the start- warning issued. Held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.

Whats The Tea- hung in and trotted roughly in the score up and was significantly out of position at the start- placed out of the mobile barrier draw. Held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.

Massif Central- broke in the score up, out of position at the start and will continue out of the mobile barrier draw, trailed the field throughout and trotted roughly.

 

 

RACE 8 – HIP POCKET WORKWEAR 4YO & OLDER VICBRED GRADUATE TROT (1690 MS)

 Zingara Lass- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to not having raced since December 2021- no abnormalities apparent. Held up around the home turn and inconvenienced near the 200 metres.

Destrier- held up around the home turn and inconvenienced near the 200 metres before using the sprint lane.

Sweet Maori Miss- led before breaking under pressure near the 250 metres.

Mister High Hopes- trotted roughly in the score up and out of position at the start- warning issued. Tired over the final 600 metresa nd was placed on his lst chance to race competitively.

Aldebaran Brutus- broke after the start and will continue out of the mobile barrier draw. Broke racing around the first turn.

 

 

RACE 9 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY 3YO FILLIES 0-2 LTW PACE (1690 MS)

Into The Harkness- inconvenienced when angling away from the back of Indi Air Tonight near the 300 metres  and contacted the sulky of that runner causing the filly to break.

Indi Air Tonight- hung out near the 350 metres, then hung in and lost momentum. Hung in and contacted marker pegs a short distance later- warning issued for racing greenly.

Fearless Writer- no action taken regarding sectional times due to the slow track conditions.

 

 

RACE 10 – MC SECURITY PACE (1690 MS)

Luna Dream- Stewards queried trainer Warren Greene regarding the apparent improved performance of the mare. Mr Greene explained that the mare had been treated for hock soreness since last racing and had trialled well leading up to this race, albeit pulling a flat tyre in the trial. Mr Greene added that the mare had benefited from a trail on the leaders back, with the time of tonights race also being slower than in her recent races.

Bona Khan- inconvenienced in the score up, then pulled hard whilst leading.

Beau Bronski- broke the offside hopple connecting strap near the 350 metres and paced roughly. Stewards will inquire into the whip use for driver Alex Ashwood near the 300 metres.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT 26/7/2024

Driver Alex Ashwodd pkeaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AHRR 156(2)(a) for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion from the 300 metres. A fine of $400 was imposed. In detemining penalty Stewards took into consideration  that Mr Ashwood ahd been penalised $200 in an earlier race at the same race meeting. 

Rebel With A Grin NZ- pre race swab samples taken.

Time After Time- fractious in the early part of the score up, then broke and  shifted in abruptly checking and inconveniencing several runners. Placed out of the mobile barrier draw. Tired to be beaten in excess of 50 metes- warning issued.

Final Bow- inconvenienced in the score up, then pulled hard in running.

Jackierabbit- inconvenienced in the score up.

Unit Forty One- inconvenienced in the score up, then pulled hard in the score up and in running.

 

 

 

RACE 11- CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES PACE(1690 MS)

Nifty Jolt- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to his number of lifetime starts, no abnormalities apparent. Driver James Herbertson was cautioned for allowing his drive to contact marker pegs  around the home turn.

Oktolove- pulled hard in the middle stages when being restrained to the rear. Tired to be beaten more than 50 metres- warning issued.

Friends- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to his age- no abnormalities apparent.

Marianna Bromac NZ- driver George Schembri was fined $100 for allowing his drive to contact marker pegs near the 200 metres.
