Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – MC SECURITY PACE (1690 MS)

MAJOR BERT– Hung out on the turn after the bell and locked wheels. Inconvenienced in the back straight, check and broke gait. Jumped a shadow in the final lap and a warning issued. When question Driver Corey Bell stated that the gelding had never travelled well in running and disappointed. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting signs of a viral infection, and it was stood down for a period on 7 days.

TUPELO BEACH– Pulled hard in running and checked in the back straight on the final lap.

IVANA BYTHESEASIDE– In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (Raced previous day) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations which revealed no significant abnormalities. Raced roughly and had its sulky contacted in the back straight.

COTCHINELLIE– Driver Alex Ashwood was cautioned for contacting marker pegs making the turn into the home straight.

RABADA– Inconvenienced and locked wheels making the turn after the bell and again in the back straight.

PABLO ROCKS– Inconvenienced in the back straight.

 

 

RACE 2 – PASTOR STEPHEN STANDING @ LLOWALONG FARMS PACE 1690 MS)

GENERAL – Prior to the All Clear being declared Stewards considered a protest from Driver Sean O’Sullivan (ATOMIC GLORY 2nd) against FOREGONE CONCLUSION NZ, placed 1st, for alleged interference in the home straight. After considering the submissions from both Drivers and assessing the video footage Stewards were of the opinion that whilst FOREGONE CONCLUSION NZ has shifted out under pressure ATOMIC GLORY although hindered slightly that the extent of the interference was not sufficient to alter the placing and as such the protest was dismissed and the all clear was given.

FOREGONE CONCLUSION NZ– Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Driver Connor Clarke was fined $100 under AHRR 162 (1)(www) for allowing his horse to shift out and hinder another runner.

FINAL BOW– Inconvenienced in the final lap.

ATOMIC GLORY– Hindered slight in the home straight.

PAIGETHEHURRIKANE– Race three wide in the early stages and gave ground in the final lap.

IMA CHARMA– Held up making the turn into the home straight.

TERROROAN– Out of position after breaking in the score up and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

CONSPIRATOR NZ– Driver Steven Matson was fined $100 under AHRR 156(3) for unapproved whip use, for applying the whip to his drive on more occasions than are permitted over the final 200m.

 

RACE 3 – C + M BUILD GROUP PACE(1690 MS)

ELZEBOY - In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (12yo +) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations which revealed no significant abnormalities. Gave ground in the final lap.

KITCH MACRAY– Gave ground in the final lap.

JEDI MIND- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (12yo +, 200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations which revealed no significant abnormalities.

ROYAL EDARD– Raced wide in the early stages.

TEX GOES BANG– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

RIGHTEOUSLY- Out of position after breaking in the score up and will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

NORTHERN TERROR– Inconvenienced and held up making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 4 - REG WITHERS 3YO CLASSIC (2180 MS)

THE AFRICAN QUEEN – Trainer Alex Ashwood was cautioned for not declaring the correct gear on the filly.

MAXY BOMBER- Trainer Ashleigh Herbertson was cautioned for not declaring the correct gear on the filly. Raced roughly in running and held up making the turn into the home straight.

MY UPTOWN GIRL– Contacted a sulky and checked in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination reveal ed no significant abnormalities.

ANOTHER PUDDIN– Raced three wide in the middle stages.

SUMMER SCHOOL– Held up making the turn into the home straight and shifted out in the home straight. Driver Stephen Boyington pleaded guilty under AHRR 163(1)(a)(iii) to a charge of careless driving in the in the home straight he shifted outwards and caused interference to MY UPTOWN GIRL.

LILSTREPO– Trainer Courtney Slater was fined $50 under AHRR  276(3)(b) for failing to declare the correct gear for the filly. Broke gait in the final lap and was placed on its last chance to race tractably.

SALSAWITHSIERRA- Broke gait after the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw at its future mobile starts. Broke gait in the final lap and was placed on its last chance to race tractably.

 

RACE 5 O'BRIEN ELECTRICAL PACE (1690 MS)

INSIDE LEG– Held up making the turn into the home straight.

FEEL THE REIGN- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations which revealed no significant abnormalities.

MICHEN ROY– Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

METRO MEMORY- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (12 months) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations which revealed no significant abnormalities. Tired, beaten 83m. Driver James Herbertson was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance and the gelding was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

 

RACE 6 – JET ROOFING PACE (2180 MS)

DREAMERS DELIGHT – Inconvenienced and held up making the turn into the home straight.

JILLIBY TIDALWAVE– Broke gait in the score up and placed on its last chance in the draw. Gave ground in the final lap.

BUDD SIDEWINDER- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (200+ starts) it underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations which revealed no significant abnormalities. Driver Jack Laugher was cautioned for being out of position in the score up. Held up making the turn into the home straight.

SCRITTORE- Driver Corey Bell was cautioned for being out of position in the score up.

 

RACE 7 – STANDARDBREDS FOR BREAST CANCER TROT (2180 MS)

TAKEN BY TIME – Due to the mobile being close to the marker pegs, the mare broke gait after contacting a marker peg and a false start was declared. Tired, beaten 255m. Apos race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. The mare will now be stood down from racing until satisfactory completing a trial.

ALABAMA BAY– Tired beaten 97m and placed on its last chance to race competitively.

DA PREZ– Broke gait under pressure and a warning issued.

DOSSIER– Locked wheels in the first lap.

TOUGHER– Locked wheels in the first lap. Tired in the final lap and a warning issued.

DISTANT SUN– Pulled hard in running and gave ground in the final lap.

PROHIBITED BID NZ- Trainer Brent Lilley was fined $50 under AHRR  276(3)(b) for failing to declare the correct gear for the filly. Broke gait in the score up and will continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

RACE 8 – TAB PACE (2180 MS)

MONTANA PRIDE – Held up making the turn into the home straight.

LIKEABLE ROGUE – Driver Alex Ashwood was cautioned for being out of position in the score up.

REGAL ROCK NZ– Raced wide in the early stages and gave ground in the final lap.

TRINITYS DELIGHT– raced fiercely in running and contacted marker pegs. Hung inwards and a warning issued.

RACE 9 – BUDS & BRANCHES FLORIST 4YO & OLDER MAIDEN PACE (2180 MS)

ROLLIN MARY – Tired, beaten 74m and will now be stood down from racing until satisfactory completing a trial.

IMAGUNNARESTNGO– Out of position after hanging in during the score up and a warning issued.

TRIROCKIN– Shifted in during the final lap and contacted a sulky. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Driver Ross Payne was cautioned for contacting marker pegs.

SWEET FACE– Raced three wide in the early stages. Shifted out in the final lap and contacted a sulky.

LA FRANK– Fractious in the score up and will continue to be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.
