STEWARDS REPORT FOR KILMORE

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – HIP POCKET CASTLEMAINE TROT (1690 MS)
SKY LINDY – held up for clear running rounding the final turn. Driver Brent Thompson was cautioned for allowing the mare to race inside the final two marker pegs prior to the entrance of the sprint lane.
GUNNY TEE – pulled hard in running and then tired to be beaten 82m into tenth placing; last chance to race competitively.
MATTYO – galloped twice in running; last chance to race truly.
ATEGO DAWN – galloped after start; exclusion from future mobile barrier draws.
THE NIGHT QUEEN – galloped score-up, out of position when start effected; exclusion from future mobile barrier draws. Trailed the field thereafter. Post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed nasal discharge. Stood down for seven (7) days.
NELLIE JOY – out of position at the candy pole prior to the start being effected; warning issued.
FRANKYTHEFRENCHMAN – galloped score-up, out of position when start effected; exclusion from future mobile start events. Galloped under pressure over the concluding stages.
XIAOBO – slow to score-up and out of position when the start was effected as a result; continued exclusion from future mobile start events. Galloped under pressure; warning issued owing to recent tractability record. Post-race veterinary examination at the request of connections revealed nasal discharge. Stood down for seven (7) days.
Stewards delayed the all-clear to review angles of race vision of the start of the event and to obtain submissions from driver Mr Ross Graham as to whether AGAINST THE BRIDLE was afforded a fair start. Subsequent to said submissions, and review of all angles of the official replays, Stewards noted that whilst THE NIGHT QUEEN did galloped approx. 20m before the start was effected, the mare, whilst being restrained, remained in a gallop on the gate just prior to the start point before then losing ground after the start had been affected. Mr Graham explained that, at that point he had already begun to restrain his drive and direct AGAINST THE BRIDLE to the inside of THE NIGHT QUEEN and was of the view that no significant disadvantage was present. Given the circumstances Stewards were of the view that AGAINST THE BRIDLE was afforded a fair start and the all clear was given on the numbers of 9 – 7 – 2 – 13.
RACE 2 – KILMORE FORD PACE (2180 MS)
NOTHING SWEETER – declared a late scratching at 5.24pm owing to float breakdown.
ARCHAA – driver Christopher Shinn was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground as at approx. 200m he allowed or directed his drive outward when not clear of SPUN SILVER, with that runner being inconvenienced.
SPUN SILVER – trainer Alexandra Hurley was cautioned for not advising dual-runner tactics by the prescribed time. Inconvenienced at approx. 200m by ARCHAA, when that runner shifted outwards.
TOPZAVSKI – declared a late scratching at 5.47pm on veterinary advice.
ALTIUS – galloped score-up, out of position when start effected; exclusion from future mobile start events.
RACE 3 – APG - A HORSE FOR EVERYONE VICBRED SUPER SERIES (4YO TROTTING ENTIRES & GELDINGS) (1ST HEAT) (2180 MS)
JACK SPRAT – held up for clear running rounding the final turn.
REGINALDS REIGN - pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare policy having not competed in 12 or more months. No obvious abnormalities either examination. Galloped approx. 300m.
RINGER WELLS – held up for clear running rounding the final turn; utilized sprint lane thereafter.
WALLIS – galloped at approx. 1400m; warning issued owing to recent tractability record.. Checked by REGINALDS REIGN at approx. 300m when that runner galloped.
HEART OF GRACELAND – galloped rounding the final turn.
QUIRKY CHARACTER – galloped score-up, out of position when start effected; continued exclusion from future mobile barrier draws. Inconvenienced at approx. 1400m when WALLIS galloped.
RACE 4 – APG - A HORSE FOR EVERYONE VICBRED SUPER SERIES (4YO TROTTING ENTIRES & GELDINGS) (2ND HEAT) (2180 MS)
REMUS PHOENIX – galloped under pressure rounding the final turn; warning issued owing to recent tractability record.
DISTANT SUN – hung in heading into the first turn.
LOCKSLEY CAVALIER – checked by REMUS PHOENIX at approx. 225m when that runner galloped.
MAXIMEZ – out of position when start effected; warning issued. Inconvenienced by REMUS PHOENIX at approx. 225m when that runner galloped.
BET BET HOTSHOT - pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare policy having not competed in 12 or more months. No obvious abnormalities either examination. Tired to be beaten 111m into tenth placing; stood down pending the completion of one (1) satisfactory requalifying trial owing to the beaten margin.
ALDEBARAN MARCUS – inconvenienced and galloped heading into the first turn when DISTANT SUN hung inward and tightened HAPPY ESCAPE (John Meade) who then shifted inward and crowded ALDEBARAN MARCUS.
HAPPY ESCAPE – connections requested that the gelding continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 5 – JC WINDOWS PACE (1690 MS)
SHAQ - pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare policy having attained 200 or more lifetime starts. No obvious abnormalities either examination. Held up and no clear run from approx. 400m to finish.
CHIRRIPO – held up for clear running rounding the final turn; directed downward and into the sprint lane at approx. 175m.
LOCHIEL LAD NZ – raced greenly rounding the first turn.
DIRECT COMMAND NZ – out of position when start effected, paced roughly and then galloped shortly after the start; exclusion from future mobile barrier draws.
MERRYWOOD PAUL – fractious and reared in the preliminary; out of position when start effected; last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Inconvenienced after the start when DIRECT COMMAND NZ galloped.
RACE 6 – PICKLEBET "GET YOUR PICKLE ON" VICBRED VOUCHER 2YO MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)
BANJO STAR – raced greenly at various stages.
STORM VENDETTA – raced greenly through the middle stages when positioned on the marker pegs.
MISS CULLEN - tired to be beaten 57.8m into eighth and last placing; warning issued.
TORQUE IN HEAVEN – galloped heading into the first turn; stood down pending the completion of one (1) satisfactory trial owing to recent tractability record.
PONTIAN GIRL – driver Chris Romanidis was cautioned for extricating the filly away from the starting gate prior to the start being effected. Tired to be beaten 55.5m into seventh placing; last chance to race competitively owing to recent record.
AMERICAN GUY – paced roughly heading into the first turn and then pulled hard for a short distance thereafter. Broke gear rounding the back turn in the final occasion with the inside lugging pole becoming detached.
RACE 7 – MC LABOUR VICBRED VOUCHER 2YO MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)
DUSTY PHILTRA – fractious and veered inwards sharply during score-up, out of position when start effected; exclusion from future mobile barrier draws.
IM STARVING – pulled hard in running, then tired to be beaten 50.7m into seventh placing. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be afflicted with exertional rhabdomyolysis (tying up). No treatment or stand-down period required.
CAMERINA – hung in and contacted several marker pegs rounding the final turn.
BAY LA VILLE – out of position when start effected; no action taken given the manners of DUSTY PHILTRA which was drawn ahead on the front row.
COLD STORAGE - out of position when start effected; no action taken given the manners of DUSTY PHILTRA which was drawn ahead on the front row. Galloped rounding the final turn; last chance to race tractably.
RACE 8 – APG - A HORSE FOR EVERYONE VICBRED SUPER SERIES (4YO TROTTING MARES) (1ST HEAT) (2180 MS)
KEAYANG GYPSY – galloped at approx. 200m.
WAIKARE ADRIENNA – tired to be beaten 66.9m into seventh placing; no action take owing to the margins between the placings.
RACE 9 – APG - A HORSE FOR EVERYONE VICBRED SUPER SERIES (4YO TROTTING MARES) (2ND HEAT) (2180 MS)
LEZAMA – galloped through early stages; trailed the field thereafter. Stood down pending the completion of one (1) satisfactory trial owing to recent tractability record.
KARAKAJACK TOOTH - pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare policy having not competed in 12 or more months. No obvious abnormalities either examination.
MEGA SPUR – hung in under pressure rounding the final turn and contacted marker pegs.
STATELY SALOME - pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare policy having not competed in 12 or more months. No obvious abnormalities either examination. Galloped rounding the final turn.
WITH APLOMB – out of position when start effected; warning issued.
CENTURION DREAM – galloped after start; exclusion from future mobile barrier draws.
