Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics. All drivers competing at this meeting were required to undergo breathalyser testing with all results being negative.
RACE 1 – TROTSYND PACE (2130MS)
TORPEDO ROCK (E Suvaljko) – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
SOHO MOONRAKER (M Miller) – Lay inwards approaching the front straight on the final occasion and momentarily locked wheels with HALE SAINT LOUIE NZ (D Egerton-Green).
RACE 2 – TROTSYND- GROUP 1 WINNERS PACE (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 3 – VALE HUBERT TUCKER 3YO PACE (2130MS)
MAXIMUM ROCK (C Voak) – Galloped at the start. Trailed the field throughout. Will now be placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.
MIKIS PRIDE (C Lewis) – Raced roughly for a short distance after the start. A warning was issued.
RACE 4 – TROTSYND #WINNERSWIN CONDITIONED PACE (1730MS)
MASTER PUBLISHER NZ - Late withdrawal at 5pm when Trainer G Hall Snr advised that the gelding was lame in the near fore. The gelding will now be stood down from racing for 28 days with the penalty being reduced to 7 days upon the provision of a veterinary clearance.
GOODFELLAZ (C Lewis) – When interviewed regarding the unplaced performance, Driver C Lewis advised that the gelding over-raced after not being able to lead which was detrimental to its finishing effort.
HILLVIEW BONDI (K Symington) – Driver K Symington advised that the hopple shortening pins failed to release despite his efforts. `
JAWSOFLINCOLN (G Hall Jnr) – Raced roughly as the start was effected. A warning was issued.
RACE 5 – TROTSYND J P STRATTON CUP (G2) PACE (2130MS)
MISTER SMARTEE NZ (G Hall Jnr) - Driver G Hall Jnr was fined $300 under HR162(a)(i) for being out of position at the candy pole. When determining penalty, Stewards considered the Group 2 status of the event where increased penalties apply.
PINNY TIGER (C Voak) – Broke gait approaching the front straight on the first occasion. Now stood down from racing for 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 6 – TROTSYND SYNDICATION 4YO+ PACE (2130MS)
ALCOPONY (R Warwick) – Returned with the one-legged spreader being detached.
RACE 7 – TROTSYND- REGISTER YOUR INTEREST PACE (2130MS)
POCKET THE CHANGE NZ (K Symington) – A post-race veterinary examination of the unplaced mare revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 8 – TROTSYND- PACING TO VICTORY PACE (2130MS)
MIDDLEPAGE (D Harper) – Broke an off-side hopple connecting strap and then broke gait leaving the back straight on the first occasion. On inspection the gear was found to be in good order. In such circumstances, no action was taken against the gelding.
MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON NZ (G Hall Jnr) – A post-race veterinary examination of the unplaced gelding revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 9 – TROTSYND- JOIN THE FUN PACE (2130MS)
SUGAR STREET NZ - Late scratching at 5.18pm due to Trainer B Howlett being indisposed and consequently was unable to transport the gelding to the course.
THOMSON BAY (S McDonald) – Driver S McDonald was reprimanded under HR162(1)(i) for being out of position at the candy pole.
MAGNUS VICTOR (A De Campo) – Driver A De Campo was reprimanded under HR162(1)(i) for being out of position at the candy pole. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it was slow to recover. Trainer/Driver A De Campo expressed disappointment in the performance and will have blood specimens taken from the gelding and report any irregularities.
RACE 10 – TROTSYND SUPPORTS JP PACING TROT (2536MS)
OUR MAESTOSO NZ - Late scratching at 5.18pm due to Trainer B Howlett being indisposed and consequently was unable to transport the gelding to the course.
SKY EAGLE (G Johnson) - Pulled hard throughout. Gave ground from the 600m to be beaten by 105m. Due to the uncompetitive performance, Trainer Mr G Johnson was advised that the gelding will now be stood down from racing for 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory requalifying trial.
MARENGO BAY (G Hall Jnr) - Broke gait in the back straight on the final occasion. Now stood down from racing for 13 days and until the completion of two satisfactory requalifying trials.
