Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – GO ONE BETTER WITH WESTRAL PACE (2130MS)

RACE 2 – WESTRAL MESHLOCK SECURITY DOORS & SCREENS PACE (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 3 – WESTRAL PLANTATION TIMBER SHUTTERS (DIV.1) PACE (2130MS)
SISTA SAMMY NZ (D Roberts) – Broke gait leaving the front straight after the bell. The filly will now be stood down from racing for 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
MAGNUS VICTOR (T Wheeler) – Hung inwards approaching the front straight on the final occasion and contacted marker pegs. A warning was placed against the gelding’s racing manner.
IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL NZ (R Williams) – When shifting inwards to obtain a position on the marker pegs following the leader approaching the front straight on the final occasion was held tight momentarily and raced inside a marker peg.
RACE 4 – WESTRAL SHADETRACK OUTDOOR BLINDS PACE (1730MS)
LAMANDIER (G Hall Jnr) – Inconvenienced and raced roughly as the start was effected when BRICKIES DREAM NZ (R Williams) was restrained and shifted outwards marginally.
CLASSIC CHOICE NZ (L Harper) – Shifted outwards when leading in the front straight on the final occasion allowing a marginal run for SOHO SANTORINI (C Peterson).
General: Driver L Harper (CLASSIC CHOICE) was advised to ensure he makes a greater effort to prevent his drives from shifting outwards in similar circumstances and Driver C Peterson (SOHO SANTORINI) was advised to ensure there is sufficient room when attempting similar runs in the future.
Driver R Williams (BRICKIES DREAM) was fined $200 under HR156(2)(a) for using his whip in more than a flicking motion.
RACE 5 – WESTRAL MARES CLASSIC (G1) PACE (2536MS)
OUR SANDY SHORE (M Brown) – Galloped as the start was effected and trailed the field throughout. Will now be placed out of the draw for future mobile start events.
General: Driver S Steele (STORMYSKYES) was fined $200 under HR156(2)(a) for using his whip in more than a flicking motion.
RACE 6 – WESTRAL ROLLER SHUTTERS FFA PACE (2130MS)
General: Driver K Harper (CORDERO) was fined $200 under HR156(4)(a) for applying his whip continuously in the front straight on the final occasion.
RACE 7 – WESTRAL WINDOW BLINDS (DIV.2) PACE (2130MS)
FIREROCKFIREROLL (C Voak) – Hung outwards and gave ground from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was issued against the gelding’s racing manner.
RACE 8 – WESTRAL QUALITY SINCE 1973 2YO FILLIES PACE (2130MS)
TI SENTO (L Wallrodt) – Gave ground from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly revealed no abnormalities. Trainer/Driver L Wallrodt advised that the filly had pulled hard in the score up and consequently he had driven forward in an attempt to cross SHES ALL GO (K Harper) and when unable to do so the filly then began to over-race which resulted in the filly giving ground from the 700. He further advised that he would start the filly in the country area for its immediate future starts.
LUCKY COPY (D Egerton-Green) – A post-race veterinary examination of the unplaced filly revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 9 – WESTRAL VERISHADE CURTAINS CONDITIONED PACE (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 10 – WESTRAL HONEYCOMB BLINDS 3YO PACE (2130MS)
KURIOUS BOY (R Warwick) and ARIONROCK (D Egerton-Green) locked wheels over the concluding stages.
General: Driver M Brown (THENU CAME ALONG) was cautioned for the manner in which she shifted outwards in the front straight on the final occasion which caused MAXIMUM ROCK (C Voak) to be inconvenienced when steadied outwards.

RACE 10 – PERTH'S KATE MAC FOR BREAKFAST ON SMOOTHFM 2YO PACE (2130MS)
WHEN IN VEGAS (D Egerton-Green) – When questioned in relation to his driving tactics and the performance of the gelding, Driver D Egerton-Green stated that he was instructed to hold the lead from barrier one and when challenged through the early stages he maintained his position, however the gelding came under pressure from the 600m and was unable to finish the race off and performed in a disappointing manner. Co-trainer Mr G Bond confirmed the instructions issued to Driver D Egerton-Green and expressed disappointment with the performance and advised that the gelding recovered well, however would now be sent for a spell.
