Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
Due to Driver E Suvaljko being unavailable, Stewards approved the following driver changes:
Race 10 – ARISTOTLE – S Suvaljko. MAJESTIC GA GA- G Hall Jnr.
RACE 1 – GO ONE BETTER WITH WESTRAL PACE (2130MS)
OPAL HUNTER (R Williams) - A post-race veterinary examination of the unplaced gelding revealed it to have returned with a slightly elevated heart rate. Trainer/Driver Mr R Willams stated that the gelding was unsuited to the fast pace after being driven forward to race outside the leader in the back straight on the completion of a lap.
CHILLI PUNTER (S Suvaljko) - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind. A veterinary clearance is required prior to the mare racing or trialling again.
RACE 2 – WESTRAL MESHLOCK SECURITY DOORS & SCREENS PACE (1730MS)
QUINTON (S Suvaljko) - Tightened inside several marker pegs leaving the front straight on the first occasion.
General: Driver G Hall Jnr (LOUIE LEBEAU NZ) was fined $200 under HR168(1)(a) for careless driving for shifting inwards leaving the front straight on the first occasion causing QUINTON (S Suvaljko) to be tightened inside several marker pegs.
RACE 3 – WESTRAL PLANTATION TIMBER SHUTTERS PACE (2130MS)
ARMA BELIEVER (M Brown) - Shifted outwards in the front straight on the final occasion.
General: Driver M Brown (ARMA BELIEVER) was fined $100 under HR162(1) (www) for allowing her drive to shift outwards in the front straight on the final occasion which advantaged CORDERO (C Voak).
RACE 4 – WESTRAL SHADEROCK OUTDOOR BLINDS PACE (2130MS)
TUALOU NZ (D Egerton-Green) - When interviewed in relation to the unplaced performance, Driver D Egerton-Green stated that the gelding over-raced after being driven forward to lead and failed to settle and hung outwards throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
RACE 5 – WESTRAL MARES CLASSIC (G1) PACE (2536MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 6 – WESTRAL ROLLER SHUTTERS PACE (2130MS)
A false start was declared when NATHAN STREET (G Hall Jnr) became fierce in the score up and contacted the mobile barrier arm and broke gait and consequently checked FLYIN DISCO (T Wheeler).
ECLIPSE LINE (E Suvaljko) - Steadied when close to the sulky wheel of BETTOR ARCADE (A De Campo) at the turn into the front straight on the final occasion.
TORREVEAN PINKY (D Roberts) - Inconvenienced at the turn into the front straight on the final occasion.
NATHAN STREET- Fierce in the score up at the first attempt of the start and contacted the mobile barrier arm and broke gait and caused a false start. Pulled hard and out of position at the start. The gelding will now be placed out of the draw for future mobile events.
ERA (D Egerton-Green) – After the race reared and fell before getting back to its feet and then underwent a veterinary examination where no abnormalities were detected.
WATCH ME WAVE (C Suvaljko) - Inconvenienced at the turn into the front straight on the final occasion.
RACE 7 – WESTRAL WINDOW BLINDS PACE (2130MS)
MAJOR FREEWAY (S McDonald) - Returned having cast the near fore plate.
RACE 8 – WESTRAL QUALITY SINCE 1973 3YO PACE (1730MS)
WICKED HUSTLER (A Decampo) - Raced roughly leaving the front straight on the first occasion.
PINJARRA ROCKS (M Miller) - Gave ground from the 700m and retired from the race shortly after. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr K Prentice advised he would have the gelding undergo an endoscopic examination and report the findings to the Stewards. The gelding is now stood down from racing for 6 days and until the completion of one satisfactory requalifying trial.
RACE 9 – WESTRAL VERISHADE CURTAINS 2YO PACE (1730MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 10 – WESTRAL HONEYCOMB BLINDS TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HCP TROT (2503SS)

LORD PUBLISHER NZ- Trainer Mr R Abercromby later advised that the gelding was found to have bruising to its near fore hoof and will not start in a race again for approximately a fortnight.
