Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – BEAU RIVAGE XMAS IN JULY PACE 2130MS
ADORE ME SOME MORE (C Voak) – Driver was interviewed for the reason he had moved from a position in the one out line racing towards the front straight on the first occasion to gain a position outside the leader which resulted in the mare racing wide for the remainder of the race. C Voak advised he had moved in advance of MAKE YOUR MARK (N Turvey) which had begun to move forward in the three wide position, in attempt to gain the position outside the leader as he was of the opinion that MALAKIE (S Suvaljko) who had been racing outside the leader would relinquish the position. This did not eventuate, and he was forced to race wide throughout.
MALAKIE (S Suvaljko) – Driver was interviewed regarding his driving tactics in remaining in the position outside the leader when ADORE ME SOME MORE (C Voak) had attempted to gain that position in the early stages of the race. S Suvaljko advised it was his intentions to obtain cover if possible, however ADORE ME SOME MORE had not quickened and made sufficient ground, enabling him the opportunity to relinquish his position outside the leader.
MADDY MADDY (S McDonald) – Broke gait racing out of the back straight on the final occasion. The mare will now be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
DISPATCHER (T Wheeler) – Checked racing out of the back straight on the final occasion.
SEAGRASS (C Peterson) – Inconvenienced racing out of the back straight on the final occasion.
COURAGE OF LOMBO (J Rigoli) – Inconvenienced resulting in receiving a flat tyre racing out of the back straight on the final occasion.
RACE 2 – ALLWOOD STUD FARM (DIV.2) PACE (2536MS)
MASTER LEIGHTON (C Lewis) – Choked down racing into the back straight on the final occasion, was retired from the event shortly after. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
PIVOTAL (M Miller) – Inconvenienced in the back straight on the final occasion.
CAVALRY CALL (T Wheeler) – Inconvenienced in the back straight on the final occasion.
ROCKIN RUFUS (S Suvaljko) – Driver S Suvaljko advised the gelding when leading had over-raced throughout contributing to the unplaced performance. Trainer G Inwood advised that he would make gear adjustments in attempt to have the gelding race more tractable in future.
RACE 3 – SEFS - YOU NAME IT, WE FUND IT PACE (2130MS)
WALSH ( A Cortopassi) – Returned with the hopple shortening cord being entangled in the near hind hopple.
RACE 4 – PICK YOUR RACE NAME AT GP (DIV.1) PACE (2536MS)
RAKERO RAIDER NZ (V Stampalia) – When interviewed regarding taking a trail in the early stages from his barrier one position he advised that it was his intention to drive the gelding positive in the early stages to obtain a forward position however he was mindful the gelding had over-raced when leading over the 2536M distance. and as result when challenged by ROAD CLOSURE (K Harper) in the early stages for those reasons elected to take a trail.
Driver V Stampalia was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving for the manner he shifted outwards racing towards the home straight which caused DISCO UNDER FIRE (C Voak) to be held tight and steadied which in turn caused NAME IN LIGHTS (S Suvaljko) to be held tight for a short distance. He was advised to exercise greater care when shifting outwards in similar circumstances.
ROAD CLOSURE (K Harper) – Driver K Harper was cautioned for allowing the gelding to shift outwards in the home straight when leading which inconvenienced MIKIPELO (C Peterson), he was advised to make every endeavour to prevent his drives from shifting outwards in similar circumstances.
RACE 5 – DOWNLOAD THE TABTOUCH APP PACE (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 6 – BRIDGE BAR (DIV.2) PACE (2130MS)
LILLY LAGUNA (D Roberts) – Broke gait racing towards the front straight on the final occasion. It was established that MAJOR OVERS (C Lewis) who had been racing to its outside hung inwards marginally when under pressure and made slight contact with the off hind leg of LILLY LAGUNA and as a result the mare broke gait. After considering all circumstances a warning was issued on the racing manner of MAJOR OVERS.
BEALAWYER (S McDonald) – Checked racing towards the front straight on the final occasion.
TEPELO STAR (M Miller) – Checked and broke racing towards the front straight on the final occasion.
THE MERCENARY (T Wheeler) – Inconvenienced racing towards the front straight on the final occasion.
ONE FOR DAVE ANDME – (J Filardo) Inconvenienced racing towards the front straight on the final occasion.
RACE 7 – ENTERTAINMENT WITH HORSEPOWER PACE (2130MS)
No racing incident to report.
RACE 8 – GO ONE BETTER WITH WESTRAL PACE (2130MS)
TORREVEAN PINKY (E Suvaljko) – Driver E Suvaljko was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) for the manner she shifted outwards in the home straight on the final occasion which caused JUST ALL STYLE (G Schofield) to be tightened for a short distance.
IDEAL IVANA (M Miller) – The removable deafeners failed to release in running.
RACE 9 – VILI'S FAMILY BAKERY TROT (2536MS)
KYVALLEY CLICHY (C Voak) – Galloped as the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
IM GAVOCHE (R Warwick) – Broke shortly after the start and will remain outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
RACE 10 – WWW.WESTSIDEAUTO.COM.AU PACE (2130MS)
TERASITA (H Reeves) – Was out of position as the start was effected. Will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
