Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics. RACE 1 – TABTOUCH PLACE A SAME RACE MULTI CHRISTMAS GIFT QUALIFIER NO.3 PACE (2130MS)
BEAT THE BANK (M Miller) - Returned with a laceration to the near knee.
General: Driver A De Campo (ROCKANDROLLARTIST) was questioned in relation to his head movement in the front straight on the first occasion and again entering the back straight on the final occasion which caused CAPTAIN CONFETTI (L Elliott) to race roughly momentarily. Mr De Campo stated that CAPTAIN CONFETTI (L Elliott) contacted and displaced his helmet on numerous occasions throughout the race and he therefore moved his head back in reaction to the contact. Mr De Campo was cautioned and told not to over-react in such circumstances as further action may be taken against him. Further, Driver L Elliott was told to allow greater clearance when trailing other runners to prevent his drives from contacting the helmet of the driver directly in advance to prevent such incidents in future.
RACE 2 – TABTOUCH PLACE A SAME RACE MULTI CHRISTMAS GIFT QUALIFIER NO.4 PACE (2130MS)
MEDIEVAL MAN (D Roberts) - Driver D Roberts was interviewed in relation to her tactics in the early stages by driving forward when strongly challenged by PETES HONOUR (C Lewis) before that gelding crossed to the lead near the winning post with a considerably faster than average lead time of 34.1 seconds being set. Ms Roberts stated that she was instructed to be in a forward position and continued challenging for the lead as PETES HONOUR (C Lewis), although gaining some advantage over her drive had not crossed fully and she was of the view that Driver C Lewis would not persevere in his endeavours to lead and that by continuing to race forward she would be able to take the lead from ILLAWONG MUSTANG (D Harper), however upon realising that she was not likely to cross that gelding and being mindful at this stage of the fast pace being set, she elected to restrain her drive to give it its best possible chance of finishing the race off.
PETES HONOUR (C Lewis) - Driver C Lewis was questioned in relation to his tactics through the early stages in continuing to drive forward despite MEDIEVAL MAN (D Roberts) being driven along to his inside causing the gelding to work very hard before crossing to the lead near the winning post on the first occasion which resulted in a considerably faster than average lead time of 34.1 seconds being set. Mr Lewis stated that he anticipated being able to lead and was racing in advance of MEDIEVAL MAN and expected that gelding to be driven more conservatively, however it continued to challenge the leader for longer than anticipated and consequently he was obliged to work hard before attaining the lead. He added that the gelding received some pressure through the middle stages with all these circumstances resulting in it not being able to finish off the race strongly.
SWEET COCO (G Hall Jnr) - Obliged to cover extra ground from leaving the front straight on the final occasion. Broke gait in the back straight on the final occasion. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
General: Drivers G Hall Jnr (SWEET COCO) and L Harper (LIL HAPPY FELLA) will be interviewed at Gloucester Park on Friday 19 December 2025 in relation to SWEET COCO being obliged to cover extra ground leaving the front straight on the final occasion and also the reason for the mare breaking gait in the back straight on the final occasion.
