Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at tonight’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
RACE 1 – BEAU RIVAGE XMAS IN JULY 3YO PACE DIV.2 (2130MS)
ILLEGAL ACT (G.HALL JNR) – Raced roughly after the start and again when racing out of the front straight on the final occasion. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing manner. Driver advised the stable would experiment with gear adjustments in an attempt to have the gelding race more tractably in future.
RACE 2 – FOLLOW @GLOUCESTERPARK ON TWITTER PACE DIV.2 (2130MS)
JUST A REACTION (A. De Campo) – Driver A. De Campo was fined $100 under R168(1)(a) for careless driving in that leaving the back straight on the final occasion he contacted the sulky wheel of NAME IN LIGHTS (S. Suvaljko) causing JUSTA REACTION to break gait.
RACE 3 – RETRAVISION PACE DIV.2 (2130MS)
LIVE LIFE FAST NZ (H. Charles) – Driver H. Charles was cautioned for slowing the pace in the early stages of the race when racing in the one out line which caused ALLTHEWAYTOROYALTY (C. Lewis) who was following, to restrain to prevent contacting its sulky.
RACE 4 – BRIDGE BAR OPEN THIS SATURDAY PACE (2536MS)
SIDSTREPO (B. Smith) – Jumped a small object on the track breaking gait leaving the front straight after the bell, checking MASTER LEIGHTON (J. Young). A post-race veterinary examination revealed SIDSTREPO to have suffered a laceration to the off fore heel in the incident.
THEREUGO (L. Harper) – Trainer/Driver L. Harper advised prior to the race, a change of tactics, in that the gelding will attempt to be driven with cover, this information was disseminated via the RWWA Twitter account and public announcement.
Driver L. Harper was reprimanded under R168(1)(e) for laying his head back towards MASTER LEIGHTON (J. Young) who was following, when racing in the back straight on the second occasion.
RACE 5 – ALLWOOD STUD FARM PACE DIV.1 (2130MS)
ROCKSTAR REBEL (A. De Campo) - Driver A. De Campo was fined $100 under R168(1)(a) for careless driving in that he contacted and punctured the offside sulky tyre of OH WHAT A COUNTRY (D. Harper) leaving the front straight after the bell.
General: On inquiry, Driver G. Cox (REGAL AURA) pleaded guilty to a charge of causing interference under R163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing the gelding to shift inwards causing contact to ROCKSTAR REBEL (A. De Campo) with that gelding breaking gait momentarily. Mr Cox’s reinsperson’s license was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing midnight Tuesday 7th of June 2022 to expire midnight 16th of June 2022. When considering penalty, Stewards took into account the degree of carelessness, which was deemed to be low-level, the degree of interference was low to mid-level and the consequences of his actions in one runner receiving interference.

RACE 7 – WESTSIDE AUTO WHOLESALE FILLIES & MARES PACE (2130MS)
GODS PLAN (A. De Campo) – A post-race veterinary examination, of the unplaced mare, revealed no abnormalities. Trainer advised the mare will now be spelled.
RACE 8 – THE RUNNING CAMEL PACE DIV.1 (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report
RACE 9 – XMAS IN JULY BOOK NOW TROT (2130MS)
KELL ROAD KID (D. Harper) – Broke gait after the start was effected and will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier start events.
LUVAFLAIR (N. Johns) – Driver N. Johns was fined $50 under R162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position until the start was effected.
LIGHTNING CALDER (B. Stanley) – Raced roughly entering the front straight on the first occasion and again leaving the front straight on the first occasion, a warning was issued.

BELONERO (S. Suvaljko)– Trainer M. Scott advised that blood samples taken from the gelding revealed no abnormalities, and he will now continue with its current preparation.

RACE 7 – CASH CONVERTERS PACE (2503SS)
GEE SMITH (G. Hall Jnr)– Trainer M. Scott advised that a subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an allergic reaction and will now be treated for that aliment, prior to racing again.
