Stewards: B Lewis, R Mance (MT), W Wishart (Steward/Betting Analyst) (SR/HE)
Veterinary Surgeon: Drs P Symons, R Caslick
Starters: K Reeves (Starter/Gear), W Best (Driver/Brands)
Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – VALE DR. TOM RIEUSSET PACE (1730MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 2 – CATALANO TRUCKS YOUR ONE STOP SHOP PACE (2130MS)
LINEBACKER NZ (C Suvaljko) – Raced in restricted room and crowded over the final stages and consequently became positioned to the inside of the marker peg at the winning post peg in the front straight on the final occasion.
RACE 3 – WA FOTON DIESEL PACE (2130MS)
NUTBUSH GIRL (K Harper) – Gave ground from the 500m. Returned with a puncture to the right side tyre which occurred in the back straight on the final occasion when losing ground. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Driver K Harper was interviewed in relation to the unplaced performance and he expressed disappointment despite the mare being obliged to race outside the leader as he remained confident of winning from this position but became under pressure from the 800m. He added that the mare became keen in the score up and had a tendency to hang outwards and he therefore had to correct the mare resulting in it losing some momentum before then making ground after the start. Trainer Mr S Tognolini will be contacted over the ensuing days to discuss the mare’s recovery and his future intentions.
RACE 4 – FOTON EURO 6 CUMMINS POWERED PACE (2130MS)
INFINITE SIGN (J Young) – Returned having cast both front plates during running.
Late Gear Change: MY SILVER SPOON NZ - Murphy Blind on near side.
General: Trainer C Voak (MY SILVER SPOON) was fined $50 under HR273(6)(b) for not wearing the gear approved by the Stewards.
RACE 5 – CATALANO TRUCK SALES AND HIRE NAVY CUP PACE (GROUP 3) (2130MS)
LAVRA JOE (M Brown) – Locked wheels with BETTER ECLIPSE (G Hall Jnr) passing the winning post on the final occasion with Driver M Brown being dislodged.
PENNY BLACK NZ (E Suvaljko) – Driver E Suvaljko was interviewed in relation to making a three wide in the front straight on the first occasion and being unable to cross JUSTCALLMEMIKI NZ (D Roberts) to race outside the leader and subsequently having to be restrained to the rear of the field in the back straight on the first occasion. Ms Suvaljko explained that after HIGH PRICE (C Lewis) had crossed to race in advance of her drive she believed her best option was to make a forward run in an endeavour to race outside the leader as PENNY BLACK NZ (E Suvaljko) is better suited to this style of racing and also that MAGNIFICENT STORM NZ (A De Campo) would dictate the speed when leading and it would therefore be difficult to make ground from her original position. The explanation was deemed to be reasonable, and no further action was required.
JUSTCALLMEMIKI NZ (D Roberts) – Driver D Roberts was interviewed in relation to her driving tactics in resisting the challenge by PENNY BLACK NZ (E Suvaljko) in the back straight on the first occasion and maintaining her position outside the leader. Ms Roberts explained that she was disappointed with the gelding’s performance as it has raced competitively when positioned outside the leader in the past and she added that in her view it was not in the gelding’s best interest to take a trailing position behind PENNY BLACK NZ (E Suvaljko) as she was of the opinion that MAGNIFICENT STORM NZ (A De Campo) would then dictate the pace and JUSTCALLMEMIKI NZ would not have been suited by making a three wide run at a later stage in the race. This explanation was accepted, and no further action was taken.
General: Driver Mr Brown (LAVRA JOE) was interviewed in relation to the reason for her being dislodged passing the winning post on the final occasion. It was established that BETTER ECLIPSE (G Hall Jnr) was making ground quickly to the inside of LAVRA JOE which was under pressure with BETTER ECLIPSE and LAVRA JOE then locking wheels and shortly after HILLVIEW BONDI (L Elliott) shifted inwards slightly under pressure. No blame was attributed to any one driver for this incident, and no further action was taken. Ms Brown was subsequently examined by the St John Paramedics and declared fit to fulfil her remaining driving engagements.
RACE 6 – CATALANO TRUCKS SERVICE CENTRE CHRISTMAS GIFT QUALIFIER NO.1 PACE (2130MS)
The start was delayed by several minutes due to Driver M Brown having to be examined by the St John Paramedics following the prior race.
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 7 – CATALANO QUALITY USED TRUCK SALES AND REPAIRS CHRISTMAS GIFT QUALIFIER NO.2 PACE (2130MS)
LIL HAPPY FELLA (L Harper) – Hung outwards in the back straight on the first occasion and also in the front straight on the second occasion. A warning was issued against the gelding’s racing manner.
FAT LOUIE NZ (C Voak) – Inconvenienced in the back straight on the first occasion.
CAMS BOULDER (R Warwick) – Inconvenienced and taken inwards and contacted a marker peg in the front straight on the second occasion.
ROCKANDROLLARTIST (A De Campo) – Shifted inwards slightly and made slight contact with the off-foreleg of FAT LOUIE NZ (C Voak) at the turn into the front straight on the first occasion which resulted in ROCKANDROLLARTIST sustaining a near-side flat tyre.
General: Driver A De Campo (ROCKANDROLLARTIST) was fined $100 for careless driving under HR168(1)(a) for shifting inwards at the turn into the front straight on the first occasion causing his near side tyre to make slight contact with the off-fore leg of FAT LOUIE NZ resulting in the tyre being punctured.
RACE 8 – CATALANO TRUCKS FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED PACE (2130MS)
BET ON THE RIVER (S Suvaljko) – Locked wheels with OH MIKI (L Elliott) in the back straight on the final occasion.
LOCAL RESIDENT (G Hall Jnr) – Checked in the back straight on the final occasion.
OH MIKI (L Elliott) – Hung inwards and locked wheels with BET ON THE RIVER (S Suvaljko) in the back straight on the final occasion. A warning was issued against the gelding’s racing manner.
RACE 9 – FOTON ALL NEW AMT WITH CUMMINS POWER DISCRETIONARY HCP PACE (2503SS)
GREVIS (E Suvaljko) – Galloped out. The gelding will now be placed out of the draw for future standing start events.
CLOUD NINE NZ (D Harper) – Galloped out. A warning was issued against the gelding’s starting manner.
RACE 10 – FOTON TRUCKS BUILT READY TO GO TRUCKS PACE (2130MS)
BUTTER ME UP - Trainer M Young was interviewed in relation to the reason for the gelding being withdrawn from this race on Wednesday, 3 December 2025. Mr Young explained that after the gelding had worked on Tuesday, 2 December 2025 it was found to have a virus which required veterinary treatment and was therefore unable to take its place in the field. Mr Young further advised that the gelding would not start in a race for a period of two weeks. After considering the explanation put forward no further action was taken.
CHEFS KISS (K Harper) – Checked and broke gait approaching the back straight on the final occasion.
PATRIARCH NZ (E Suvaljko) – Late gear change - Near side Murphy Blind off. Broke gait approaching the back straight on the final occasion. The colt will now be stood down from racing for 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.

Late Report – Gloucester Park Friday 28th November, 2025
Race 7 – THE RETRAVISION FOR ALL THE ELECTRICAL STUFF YOU LOVE PACE (2130MS)
The adjourned inquiry into the reason for FLYING DISCO (G Hall Jnr) racing roughly when its near foreleg received slight contact by the off-side wheel of TORPEDO ROCK (E Suvaljko) in the front straight on the final occasion was concluded after further evidence was taken from Driver E Suvaljko. Ms Suvaljko stated that at the turn into the front straight she had endeavoured to improve to the inside of FLYING DISCO (G Hall Jnr) however, as both runners were racing on level turns FLYING DISCO was able to resist this movement and shortly after TORPEDO ROCK was again taken outwards with FLYING DISCO not immediately responding to that movement when under pressure placing Driver G Hall Jnr at some disadvantage in shifting ground outwards due to other runners improving to his outside when his drive was commencing to yield ground. Stewards could not attribute full blame to Driver E Suvaljko for this incident given all the circumstances involved, however she was cautioned and reminded of her obligations to ensure that she is fully clear of other runners when endeavouring to improve her position to prevent incidents of a similar nature from occuring in future.
