Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – TABTOUCH PLACE A SAME RACE MULTI PACE (2130MS)
MORE SASS was a late withdrawal at 4.33pm on veterinary advice when it was established after arriving on course that the filly had a nasal discharge. Now stood down from racing for a period of 7 days and until such time a veterinary clearance is provided.
General: Drivers A De Campo (MAGNUS VICTOR), C Voak (EYE BETTER), and T Wheeler (YA BETTOR FOLLOWME) were interviewed in relation to an incident shortly after the start where YA BETTOR FOLLOWME was tightened and broke gait. Driver A De Campo was cautioned for shifting inwards which contributed to the incident. In consideration, Stewards considered the contributing factors of SUGAR SHAKE (C Lewis) and MAJOR JAY NZ (E Suvaljko) which shifted outwards shortly after the start causing YA BETTOR FOLLOWME to be carried outwards slightly.
MADDY MADDY (S McDonald) – Checked and broke gait shortly after the start.
LAMANDIER (M Brown) – Checked after the start.
BEYOND BLING (J Suvaljko) – Inconvenienced shortly after the start.
RACE 2 – TABTOUCH SCAN MY BET (DIV.1) PACE (2130MS)
WALL STREET GIRL (J Young) – Broke gait entering the front straight on the first occasion. As the mare has offended previously, will now be stood down from racing for a period of 13 days and until such time as the completion of 2 satisfactory re-qualifying trials.
General: Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the back straight on the first occasion where ME FLASH (S Steele) broke gait when racing to the inside of FLYING RUMOUR (M Tenardi). After considering evidence, it was established FLYING RUMOUR hung inwards despite the efforts of its driver causing ME FLASH to be tightened and break gait for a short distance. A warning was placed on the gelding for hanging inwards and further Driver M Tenardi was told to make every effort to prevent his drives from shifting ground in future.
RACE 3 – YOU'VE GOT THE TABTOUCH PACE (2130MS)
BLAZE COOPS (K Harper) – Pulled hard when racing outside the leader and gave ground from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was issued on the mare’s racing manner.
MR FANTASTIC NZ (E Suvaljko) – Broke gait as the start was effected and took no competitive part in the race thereafter. Will remain out of the draw for future mobile barrier events and will be stood down from racing until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 4 – TABTOUCH SHARE MY BET FFA PACE ()2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 5 – TABTOUCH WA OAKS (G1) PACE (2536MS)
XCEPTIONAL ARMA (M Brown) – Raced roughly and hung outwards entering the front straight on the first occasion. Tightened and contacted two marker pegs entering the back straight on the first occasion.
WATER LOU (S Suvaljko) – Driver S Suvaljko was interviewed in relation to his driving tactics in pressuring the leader, XCEPTIONAL ARMA (M Brown) until crossing that filly to lead in the back straight on the first occasion with a fast sectional time being recorded. The filly was then under pressure prior to entering the home straight on the final occasion and finishing unplaced. Mr Suvaljko advised his instructions were to drive forward and lead the event if possible and consequently he continued to drive forward to obtain this position in the back straight on the first occasion. Mr Suvaljko expressed disappointment in the performance and advised the filly may be coming to the end of its preparation. Trainer M Reed confirmed the instructions and advised that although the filly had had a setback following its previous start on the 20th of September 2024 at Gloucester Park due to a cold and had missed two days work, the filly was fully fit prior to the race and was also of the opinion that it may be coming to the end of its preparation. Trainer M Reed was fined $200 under HR 30(1) for failing to advise Stewards of any condition that may have affected the filly’s performance.
General: Driver S Suvaljko (WATER LOU) was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) for causing tightening to XCEPTIONAL ARMA resulting in the filly striking two marker pegs. Further, Driver S Suvaljko was fined $300 under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving for the manner in which he checked the speed approaching the end of the back straight on the first occasion which resulted in MADAM PUBLISHER NZ (S McDonald), SUGAR DELIGHT (C Voak) and CHILLI PUNTER (K Harper) all being inconvenienced when having to be steadied.
RACE 6 – TABTOUCH RESTRICTED SPRING FEATURE PACE (2130MS)
LOUIE DIOR (R Bell) – A post-race veterinary examination of the unplaced gelding revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A Belton advised that she assess the gelding’s recovery and advise Stewards of any abnormalities.
General: Driver S McDonald (SOHO BOLLINGER) was fined $100 under rule 162(1)(www) for advantaging another runner for allowing the gelding to shift outwards in the front straight on the final occasion.
Driver M Miller (SOHO FIRESTONE) was reprimanded under rule 156(2)(a) for using the whip in more than a flicking motion. Driver M Miller’s right foot slipped from the sulky footrest when activating gear turning into the front straight on the final occasion and then slipped again momentarily prior to the finish.
RACE 7 – TABTOUCH SUPPORTS HARNESS RACING PACE (2130MS)

RACE 9 – TABTOUCH WATCH SKY RACING (DIV.2) PACE (2130MS)
SOHO SANTORINI (M Miller) – A post-race veterinary examination of the unplaced gelding revealed it to lame in the off hind. The gelding will be stood down from racing until such time as a veterinary clearance is provided.
RACE 10 – TABTOUCH PAST THE POST PAYOUTS PACE (2503SS)
BEACH CAPTAIN (C Lewis) – Galloped out at the start. A warning was issued.
THE WILDCARD (A De Campo) – Galloped out at the start and will remain outside the draw in future standing start events.
