RACE 1 – TABRADIO PACE (1730MS)
SEVEN NO TRUMPS (E Suvaljko) – Gave ground from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Driver E Suvaljko expressed disappointment in the performance and advised that she took the gelding from a trailing position leaving the back straight on the first occasion to race outside the leader as it was travelling strongly through the early stages and is best suited when positioned on the speed, however the gelding then dropped the bit and came under pressure from the 400m.
ISLAND TEE REX (K Harper) – Driver K Harper reported he had difficulty in releasing the gelding’s deafeners in the front straight on the final occasion.
General: Trainer D Young was fined $50 under HR273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding to race without its approved gear of dolly vardens and consequently raced in an open bridle. This information was disseminated.

HEAD OFFICE (S Suvaljko) – Hung inwards and raced inside a number of marker pegs leaving the back straight on the first occasion when racing tightly to the inside of MY SALINA (M Brown). Driver S Suvaljko reported that he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. The cord was subsequently inspected by the Stewards and found to be in good condition.
General: In relation to HEAD OFFICE (S Suvaljko) racing inside marker pegs leaving the back straight on the first occasion, it was established that the filly had an inclination to lay inwards and was making ground quickly and raced in restricted room to the inside of MY SALINA (M Brown) which was shifting inwards prior to then being corrected outwards. No blame was attributed to any driver and no further action was taken.
