STEWARDS REPORT FOR GEELONG

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted. 

 

RACE 1 – BETFOCUS PACE (1609 MS)

LOTAKEVI – (200+starts, 12+yrs) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examination in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy. Broke gait when clear of interference at the 800m.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a left fore quarter crack that required treatment.  A 7 day stand down was imposed and the gelding will also be stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

DELTA STARZ – Driver Josh Duggan was cautioned for easing the pace approaching the first turn.  Inconvenienced by Lotakevi at the 800m.  Checked and by the tiring Alto Bayamo at the 600m and then made contact to the sulky of that runner.

WHITE LION – Broke in the score up and caused a false start.  The horse will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Tightened on the first turn by Flying Sparks.

KEAYANG SANTIAGO– Pulled hard in the lead.

FLYING SPARKS – Driver Darren Pace was cautioned for tightening the racing room of White Lion on the first turn.  Sulky contacted by Bella Louise at the 600m and sustained a flat tyre.

ALTA BAYAMO – Tired from the 600m to be beaten 62m into 11th placing.  Flat tyre sustained when contact was made by Delta Starz approaching the 500m.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

SANDSTRING – Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

METRO MEMORY– Contacted sulky of Nietra NZ on the first turn.

BELLA LOUISE– Driver Jordan Leedham replaced Chris Alford (unavailable).  Inconvenienced by Delta Starz on the first turn.  Mr.Leedham was fined $100 under AHR Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving after making contact with the offside sulky wheel of Flying Sparks at the 600m.

AUCKLAND RED– Inconvenienced by Alto Bayamo passing the 600m.

RANDOM MAHONEY– Inconvenienced by Alto Bayamo passing the 600m.

NETRA NZ– Sustained flat tyre on the first turn when sulky contacted by Metro Memory.

RACE 2 – APCO WE’VE GOT YOU PACE (1609 MS)

JACKA CONNOR NZ– Held up for clear running on the final turn and in the home straight.

MY UNCLE STAN– Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

STRAPPING RED– Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

RACE 3 –ZAV AMUSEMENTS SERIOUS FUN PACE(2100 MS)

CLYMENUS NZ – Pulled hard middle stages.

ROARFORROSCOE – Driver Kerryn Manning replaced Juanita Breen (illness).

DHAULAGIRI NZ– Broke in the score up and out of position at the start.  The gelding will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

CAPTAIN BELLASARIO– Driver John Caldow replaced Chris Alford (unavailable).

RACE 4 – HOYTS FOOD PACE (1609 MS)

ARNIES ARMY NZ – Broke gait when clear of interference at the 1300m and placed on last chance to race truly.  Pulled hard middle stages.

MAXY WANTS TO PLAY– Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

EARL OF PEMBROKE NZ – Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RACE 5 – LARA QUALITY MEATS MAIDEN TROT (2100 MS)

ALDEBARAN BRIANNA – Broke under pressure at the 100m.

MILLY METER– Began badly and trailed the field.  The mare will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

CALDERS REVENGE– Began badly and trailed the field.  The filly will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

IN HIGH PLACES– Inconvenienced after the start by Calders Revenge.

DESERT ROYALE– Tired to be beaten 63m into 6th position and placed on last chance to race competitively.

RACE 6 – EVOLUTION LODGE TROT (1609 MS)

I DREAM OF MILLIE – Hung in during the score up and out of position at the start.  The mare has been placed on its last chance in the draw.

DICHOTOMY– Broke in the score up and out of position at the start.  The mare will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Broke gait when clear of interference at the 400m, warning issued.

RACE 7 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (2100 MS)

ROCKY VALLEY– Fractious in the score up, warning issued.

TICTOK– Broke gait when clear of interference at the 400m.
