Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – HOYTS FOOD PACE (1609 MS)
RAKERO SLAMMER-held up around the home turn.
BETTOR ISOLATE- offside sulky wheel contacted near the 1100 metres resulting in a flat tyre being carried for the remainder of the race.
KOSIMO- held up around the home turn and early in the home straight before using the sprint lane.
HELLUVA NZ- pre race swab samples taken. Held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.
BULLETPROOF BOY- post race swab samples taken. Underwent a post race veterinary examination due to be engaged to race at Melton the following day- no abnormalities apparent. Driver Scott Ewen was fined $100 pursuant to AHRR 168(1)(a) – careless driving for permitting his drive to make contact with the sulky tyre of BETTOR ISOLATE near the 1100 metres.
RACE 2 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS TROT (1609 MS)
WHOS THE MAN- checked near the 1300 metres
EL RESAMO- broke free of interference near the 1400 metres and trailed the field- warning issued.
GRUMPEE- began badly and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw.
MERCENARY- broke shortly after the start and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw.
EXALTED- broke early in the score up, was out of position at the start and was placed out of the mobile barrier draw. Post race swab samples taken.
ILLAWONG LARAJAY- driver Zac Phillips did not appear in the racebook. Trainer Jess Tubbs was cautioned for the late driver notification.
RACE 3 – EVOLUTION LODGE TROT (1609 MS)
LEANNE LEEANN- held up for clear running around the home turn and early in the home straight. Driver Bob Kuchenmeister was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted out near the 150 metres, momentarily inconveniencing DEEJAY DEX.
MIELICKI- slowly out at the start.
ROCKY VALLEY- broke free of interference near the 1400 metres and lost a shoe, then broke gain near the 1000 metres.
MISTER BLINDSIDE- broke free of interference near the 1400 metres.
DEEJAY DEX- trotted roughly near the 175 metres, then momentarily inconvenienced near the 150 metres. Will remain out of the mobile barrier draw at the request of trainer Kari Males.
RACE 4 –BECKLEY NIGHT 11th OCT PACE (1609 MS)
The start of this race was delayed due to Moonee Valley Race 2 gallops race running behind schedule.
CLEAR LEFT NZ- placed in restricted room nearing the finish.
YAPPAS COURAGE- held up and unable to obtain clear running in the home straight.
MONA MIA- held up and unable to obtain clear running in the home straight.
OZZIE BATTLER- held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.
RACE 5 – APCO WE GOT YOU PACE (1609 MS)
CRIME WRITER- driver Amy Day did not appear in the racebook. Trainer Matt Craven was cautioned for the late driver notification.
CLASSIC ANGELINA- underwent pre and post race veterinary examinations with no abnormalities apparent. Pre- race swab samples taken.
CLYMENUS NZ- held up around the home turn.
DHAULAGIRI NZ- briefly broke in the score up- warning issued. Post race swab samples taken.
RACE 6 –SOUTHERN CROSS FEEDS PACE (1609 MS)
The start of this race was delayed due to Richmond greyhounds Race 6 running behind schedule.
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 7 – OCIRA CONCRETE STRUCTURES PACE (1609 MS)
GOLDEN TRIBE- post race swab samples taken.
MAJOR CRUNCH- hung out at various stages.
DOUGS TRIBE- broke free of interference near the 450 metres- placed on his last chance to race truly.
ACT FAST- driver Amy Day was cautioned for failing to have her drive in position at the start.
RACE 8 – CAINYS PLUMBING & AG SERVICES PACE (1609 MS)
The start of this race was delayed due to Geelong greyhounds Race 10 running behind schedule.
SASSYOLA- underwent pre and post race veterinary checks due to her number of lifetime starts- no abnormalities apparent.
VALIENTE- held up around the home turn before using the sprint lane.
CAPTAIN MAASTRICHT- shifted out after the start.
WATTLEBANK ARNIE NZ- held up and unable to obtain clear running in the home straight.
HEAVENLY GIPSY- hung in under pressure in the home straight.
