Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – BIANCO REINFORCING TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS

BUTCHER KATE NZ – Broke gait free of interference near the 1700 metres, a warning was issued.

GEORGY GIRL – Broke gait free of interference as the field raced into the first turn, due to the mares recent racing history, stood down until the completion of one satisfactory re-qualifying trial.

STINGOFAWASP – Broke gait free of interference near the 300 metres, a warning was issued.

ALDEBARAN GWEN – Checked and raced roughly near the 1700 metres when BUTCHER KATE NZ broke in advance of her. Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested to the line.

RACE 2 – HYGAIN RELEASE TROTTERS MOBILE– 1800MS

YOU REALLY GOT ME NZ – Broke gait free of interference as the field raced into the first turn, due to the geldings recent racing history, placed on its last chance to race truly.

BUCKLES – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested in the final straight.

SO VOGUE – Inconvenienced as the field raced into the first turn when YOU REALLY GOT ME NZ broke gait in advance of her.

RACE 3 – LADBROKES BLACK BOOK PACE – 1800MS

OUR GRAND TORINO – Gave ground from the 800 metres to eventually be beaten 89.0 metres, a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities, a warning was issued. Trainer L. Ahlfors advised it was his intention to trial the gelding prior to racing again.

MODS – Gave ground from the 500 metres to eventually be beaten 76.0 metres, a warning was issued. Trainer L. Ahlfors advised it was his intention to trial the horse prior to racing again.

LADY VEE – Raced roughly near the 1200 metres, a warning was issued. Inconvenienced near the 800 metres when OUR GRAND TORINO commenced to give ground.

HESTON BLUE STREAK – Hung out during the score-up, a warning was issued.

RACE 4 – BARGAIN STEEL CENTRE PACE – 2230MS

FRANCO LANDRY NZ – Showed gate speed but was unable to hold the lead, despite the efforts of the driver. Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested in the final straight.

BUDDING CAESAR – Broke gait free of interference, for a short distance, near the 1600 metres, a warning was issued.

STEAMED CLEANED – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 150 metres of the event, then when clear was fully tested in the final straight.

RACE 5 – SA BOTRA MEMBERS PACE – 1800MS

PLUTUS – As per HRSA policy for horses which have not raced in 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was passed fit to run. Had a tendency to over-race when attempting to take cover in the early stages of the event. Commenced to give ground from the 600 meters to eventually be beaten 152.0 metres, a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities consequently the gelding is stood down until the completion of one satisfactory re-qualifying trial.

REACT TO BEAUTY – Had a tendency to race erratically at various stages of the event, had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres of the event, then when clear was fully tested in the final straight.

RACE 6 – ANGLE VALE HARDWARE & FODDER TROTTERS MOBILE – 1800MS

IRENE ROSE – Broke gait in the early stages of the event and was out of position at despatch, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events.

ATOUT – Broke gait shortly after the start was effected, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events.

SPEEDYSEBASTIAN – Out of position when the start was effected, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events.

RACE 7 – NORTH EAST GROUP PACE – 1800MS

Stewards approved the late driving change of POWERLINC from G. Bell to A. Chapman as G. Bell had fallen ill.

BERNIE MACRAY – Driver C. Johnson had his drivers licence suspended for 7 days under Rule 156(2)(a) for the manner in which he used his whip in the final straight, when considering penalty, Stewards were mindful of his numerous breaches of the rules relating to whip use, in recent weeks.

POWERLINC – Dropped an off-side knee boot during the event.

RACE 8 – THE GLOBE BAR & GAMING PACE – 2230MS

TWO WAY WONDER – Driver C. Johnson was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(www) for the manner in which he shifted ground in the back straight on the last occasion.

ALWAYS STEAMED UP – Inconvenienced near the 500 meters when TWO WAY WONDER shifted ground in advance of him.

RACE 9 – ECMSMSO-WISE PLUMBING GROUP PACE – 1800MS

MISCHIEVOUS MAGGIE – Showed gate speed and led the event, however driver W. Hill elected to take a trail on the back of WHATA OPTIMIST near the 1600 meters.

WHATA OPTIMIST – After showing gate speed and working to the lead the gelding had a tendency to over-race whilst leading.

REGAL BREEZE – Tightened near the 250 metres when MONSIEUR STEEL shifted in under pressure.

MONSIEUR STEEL – Over-raced whilst racing outside the leader then commenced to tire and hang in near the 250 metres, a warning was issued.

RACE 10 – GAWLER CUPS DAY MARCH 24 PACERS HANDICAP

VAN MARA – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres, however, utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested over the concluding stages of the event.

JUSTANEXTRAGRAND – As per HRSA policy for horses which have not raced in 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was passed fit to run.

MAHARAJAH NZ – Galloped away when the barrier strands were released, will continue to be drawn wide in standing start events.

RACE 11 – LADBROKES ODDS SURGE PACE – 2230MS

CHILDERS ROAD – After showing gate speed and leading the event the gelding had a tendency to over-race.

MARTYS PARTY – Shifted out in the final straight when under pressure, a warning was issued.

LUV ME OR HATE ME – As per HRSA policy for horses aged 12 years or older, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.

GIANT JACKSON – Stewards fined driver T. Pullicino $100.00 under Rule 168(1)(a) which relates to careless driving, for allowing his runner to contact the sulky wheel of JOSHING OLIVER near the 800 metres, flattening the sulky tyre.

JOSHING OLIVER – Sustained a flat tyre near the 800 metres, which resulted in driver R. Hryhorec easing out of the race.
