Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.
RACE 1 – HYGAIN PACE– 1800MS
STARS LEGACY – Showed gate speed and lead the event, however, driver G. Pullicino elected to take a trail on the back of LAZIEST as the field raced towards the first turn.
NURUNDERI – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and fully tested in the final straight.
BLINGADINGDING – Had difficulty finding a clear run over the final 400 metres of the event and was never fully tested in the final straight
RICKSHAWSHAOW – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight. Stewards spoke to drive C. Johnson regarding him allowing his runner to shift in near the 100 metres, shortly after activating gear, he was reminded of his obligations to maintain a straight course in the final straight
BYSTANDER – Tired over the concluding stages to eventually be beaten 47.0 metres.
SONNY RENNT – Broke gait free of interference as the field raced into the first turn, a warning was issued.
RACE 2 – LADBROKES PUNTER ASSIST PACE – 1800MS
AUDAZ YANKEE - Tired over the concluding stages to eventually be beaten 48.0 metres
PERFECT GAMBLE – Broke gait due to the near-side front hobble carrier breaking near the 850 metres and subsequently was retired from the event. Stewards inspected the equipment and noted it is of good quality; no further action was required.
LECIA GREY SHARK - Tired over the concluding stages to eventually be beaten 50.0 metres
RUTHLESS OFFENDER – Hung in near the 200 metres, a warning was issued.
RACE 3 – BIANCO REINFORCING TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS
ALDERBARAN BREE – Gave ground from the 500 metres to eventually be beaten 57.0 metres, a warning was issued.
FEEL THE MOMENT - Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
COUNTESS CRUSOE - Showed gate speed to lead the event, however, driver G. Pullicino elected to take a trail on the back of JANES GEM near the 1600 metres. Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and fully tested in the final straight.
MAJESTIC SUMMER – Broke gate free of interference shortly after the start was effected, taking no competitive part in the race, a warning was issued.
JANES GEM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after a minor incident In the raceday stalls and was passed fit to race.
RACE 4 – 1800-GOT-JUNK? PACE – 1800MS
HEZ A STEEL NZ – Stewards questioned drivers G. Rogers along with D. Girardi (VILLAGE CHARACTER) regarding an incident that appeared to occur near the 200 metres, where HEZ A STEEL was severely checked and broke gait near the 200 metres. After taking evidence from both drivers, reviewing the race replays and based on their own observations, it was determined that VILLAGE CHARACTER had a tendency to hang in through the final turn and then just prior to straightening moved in quite abruptly and contacted the off-side back leg of HEZ A STEEL NZ, despite the efforts of the driver. Stewards attributed to interference to the racing manners of VILLAGE CHARACTER and placed a warning on it.
VILLAGE CHARACTER – Hung in and contacted HEZ A STEEL NZ near the 200 metres, a warning was issued.
WINSOME BUNNY - Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and fully tested in the final straight.
RACE 5 – BARGAIN STEEL CENTRE PACE – 1609MS
ROCKINROLL RAIDER – Raced fierce in the score up. Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
MISCHIEVOUS MAGGIE – Showed gate speed to lead the event, however, driver G. Pullicino elected to take a trail on the back of HEREFORAGOODTIME near the 1600 metres. Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, utilised the sprint lane when it became available and fully tested in the final straight.
DIAMOND MOUNTED NZ – Raced fierce in the score up.
MARTYS PARTY – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
HUGH GO - Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
RACE 6 – RAY WHITE COMMERCIAL ADELAIDE PACE – 1800MS
CAULONIA PLAYBOY – Gave ground from the 500 metres to eventually be beaten 79.0 metres, placed on its last chance to race competitively.
BETTOR LOVER NZ – Inconvenienced as the field raced towards the first turn, when LUNCHINHEAVEN raced roughly in advance of her.
LUNCHINHEAVEN – Stewards questioned drivers K. Green along with K. Weidenbach (AMIRA MARIE) regarding an incident that appeared to occur as the field raced into the first turn where LUNCHINHEAVEN raced roughly. After taking evidence from both drivers, reviewing the race replays and based on their own observations it was determined that LUNCHINHEAVEN was the cause as it had a tendency to hang in and then raced roughly as a consequence, a warning was issued. Gave ground from the 600 metres to eventually be beaten 71.0 metres, placed on its last chance to race competitively.
AMIRA MARIE - Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and fully tested in the final straight.
RACE 7 – SEYMOUR GROUP PACE - 2230MS
ACES SHADOW – Showed gate speed to lead the event, however, gave ground from the 600 metres to eventually be beaten 70.0 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards spoke to trainer R. Holberton who could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. After considering all circumstances Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory and stood the gelding down until the completion of one satisfactory requalifying trial.
GOLDEN JAYLET – As per HRSA policy for horses aged 12 years or older, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run.
TUFFTIGER – Checked near the 400 metres, when ACES SHADOW gave ground when racing in advance of him.
RACE 8 – HAHN SUPER DRY 3.5 PACE – 1800MS
CLARENDEN SWEETLOU – Tired over the concluding stages to eventually be beaten 46.0 metres.
DASHING COWBOY - Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, utilised the sprint lane when it became available then broke gait free of interference. Placed on its last chance to race truly.
MAURLEN ANNIE – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
STAR OF WILLOUGHBY – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
WHATA OPTIMIST – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, when clear was fully tested in the final straight.
HY FILANTE - Raced fierce in the score up and over-raced when being restrained to the rear of the field and throughout the event. Utilised the sprint lane when it became available then inconvenienced when DASHING COWBOY broke gait in advance of her in the final straight.
RACE 9 - LADBROKES TOP 2/3/4 BETTING PACE – 1800MS
CROOKWELL JAKE – Gave ground from the 500 metres to eventually be beaten 79.0 metres and placed on its last chance to race competitively.
SUNSTAR – Showed gate speed to lead the event, then wanted to over-raced whilst leading.
THE CRIMSON PRINCE NZ – Broke gait free of interference in the early stages of the score up and failed to come up into position, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events. Gave ground from the 400 metres to eventually be beaten 73.0 metres and placed on its last chance to race competitively.
DON ARTHUR – Stewards reprimanded driver D. Girardi under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come into position.
General
Stewards approved the late driver changes for driver K. Wilson as she was unavailable due to personal circumstances and due to the early request Stewards accepted R. Hryhorec to replace K. Wislon.
