RACE 1 – RAY WHITE COMMERCIAL ADELAIDE PACE – 1800MS

MALACHITE ROCK – Inconvenienced as the field raced into the first turn when BOHEMIAM BRAIDS shifted out when racing on his inside. Driver K. Green reported to Stewards that MALACHITE ROCK had dropped a knee boot during the event.

THE LADYBIRD – Stewards questioned driver G. Pullicino along with M. Smith (LOVE TO DEAL) regarding an incident that appeared to occur as the field raced towards the first turn, where driver G. Pullicino had to check her drive when LOVE TO DEAL moved towards the marker pegs in advance of her. After taking evidence from both drivers, reviewing the race replays and based on their own observations it was determined that as M. Smith went to move towards the marker pegs, he initially had room to do so, however, prior to moving in to that position the pace eased which resulted in THE LADYBIRD being tightened and G. Pullicino easing her runner to accommodate LOVE TO DEAL. Stewards reprimanded Driver M. Smith under Rule 163(1)(a)(i) for crossing with insufficient clearance as in their opinion there was always only minimal clearance available to him, however, the easing of the pace compounded the situation. Had a tendency to over race when racing on the marker pegs, then had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres. Broke gait free of interference in the final straight and a warning was issued.

LOVE TO DEAL – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and 200 metres, however, utilised the sprint lane when it became available and fully tested in the final straight.

BOHEMIAN BRAIDS – Stewards questioned driver R. Hryhorec along with L. Ryan (CAPTAINS DREAM) regarding an incident that appeared to occur as the field raced towards the first turn, where BOHEMIAN BRAIDS was inconvenienced and ran up the track. After taking evidence from both drivers, reviewing the race replays and based on their own observations it was determined that as R. Hryhorec was attempting to drive up on the inside of CAPTAINS DREAM, which had commenced to move into a position in the running line, in advance of BOHEMIAN BRAIDS, R. Hryhorec realised CAPTAINS DREAM had beaten him to the position and steadied his driver, however the gelding over-reacted and shifted out as a consequence. Stewards accepted the evidence of both drivers and as no one driver or horse was at fault, no further action was required.

RACE 2 – 2025 LADBROKES LADYSHIP STAKES – 1800MS

SHEMEANSBUSINESS – Showed gate speed to lead the event, however, driver K. Weidenbach elected to take a trail on the back of HILLTOP STAR near the 1400 metres. After taking evidence from both drivers, reviewing the race replays and based on their own observations it was determined that as G. Pullicino moved away from the marker pegs she had tightened the racing room of CLASSIC CHOICE however, M. Norman stated that whist the racing was tight, he believed CLASSIC CHOICE had over-reacted to the movement and the fact his runner was not progressing, he had anticipated the movement from his inside and steadied his drive to ensure no tightening occurred.
