Globe Derby Park –Saturday 15th June 2024

The sprint lane was in operation at tonights event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

LATE DRIVER CHANGE

Late driver change Race 6. Gaita Pullicino replacing Tony Pullicino on UNCLE LOUIS.

RACE 1 –HYGAIN SOUTHERN CROSS PACE -1800MS

The reinspersons licence of Andrew Clarke (UBETONRED) was suspended for 10 days under R163(1)(a)(i)  after pleading guilty to a charge of crossing LIL MISS CROCKER (M Smith) near the 400 metres when not clear of that runner. UBETONRED which was leading the race shifted off pegs in back straight which allowed a run to LIL MISS CROCKER.  In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Clarkes plea of guilt and his previous good driving record.

RACE 2 SUNDONS COURAGE @ TRUSCOTT LODGE TROTTERS MOBILE  - 220MS

A warning was placed on MAJESTIC SUMMER (S Adams) which galloped in the front straight first occasion.

A warning was placed on KABAYO KING (A Chapman) which galloped leaving the front straight final occasion.

RACE 3 –  LADBROKE IT! PACE – 2230MS

The reinspersons licence of Tony Pullicino (HARRY OVENS) was suspended for 7 days under R156(2)(a) for using whip in more than a flicking motion.

MOHS EM DOWN (S Pascoe) utilised the sprint lane to win the race.

RACE 4 – NORTHSIDE TROPHIES PACE – 1800MS

Reinsperson Tony Pullicino (GIANT JACKSON) was reminded to ensure he has a rein in each hand at all times unless activating gear.

RACE 5 – THE GLOBE BAR & GAMING PACE  – 2230MS

Stewards heard a protest lodged by trainer Ray Holberton (ACES DAUGHTER) placed 4th against PER ARDUA AD ASTRA (K Wedenbach) 1st alleging interference after leaving the back straight first occasion. After viewing all videos of the incident, ,acting on their own observations and hearing from Mr. Holberton, Mr. Loone trainer of PER ARDUA AD ASTRA, Bernadette Page driver ACES DAUGHTER and Kevin Weidenbach  the protest was dismissed.

Stewards were of the opinion that whilst Mr Weidenbach was crossing to a position behind the leader Miss Page had been driving forward to take that position and her drive galloped when she took hold of it.  Therefore, they could not comfortably be satisfied Weidenbach was at fault. Stewards advised both drivers that they were of the view this incident on evidence could see neither party be held responsible.

Reinsperson Michael Smith (DIDMESELFAMISCHIEF) was fined $100 under R156(2)(b)(iii) for using the whip with overt force.

PER ARDUA AD ASTRA utilised the sprint lane to win the race.

Due to the on course medical officers attending to an on-course patron all remaining races put back one race with Race 9 now 10.54pm.

RACE 6 – CARDIGAN BOKO SWE @ BELLMOURE PARK TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS

When questioned Shaun Adams (MAJESTIC SUMMER) stated he elected to go forward mid race as his drive was pulling hard. Thereafter he was obliged to race three wide as XEBEC (J Holberton) held the position outside the leader.

RACE 7 – AIR DIFFUSION AGENCIES PACE – 1800MS

CARIJOY (D Whelan) hung inwards entering the home straight final occasion and locked the nearside sulky wheel with ALL AUSSIE MACH (N Brown) and the tyre punctured.

Reinsperson Declan Whelan (CARIJOY) was fined $100under R231(2) for misconducting himself at the conclusion of the race by use of inappropriate language.

RACE 8 – EMERGING STARS PACERS SERIES (HEAT 4) – 1800MS

A warning placed on WINSTON ALEXANDER (T Mumford) which galloped leaving the front straight after the start.

RACE 9 – LADBROKES YARD COMMENT PACE  1800MS

APOLOGY ACCEPTED (J Kittel) paced roughly as the start was effected and warning issued.
