Globe Derby Park – 9/11/24

The sprint lane was in operation at tonight’s event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – SOUTHERN CROSS FINALS NIGHT NOVEMBER 30 PACERS HANDICAP –  2230SS

Warning placed on JIMMY LOCKE (K Weidenbach) which galloped from the barrier.
LORD ZARIAS (R Hryhorec) which galloped from barrier will continue to be excluded from draw

RACE 2 – SUNDONS COURAGE @ TRUSCOTT LODGE TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230MS

Warnings placed on ALDEBARAN STILES (D Hill) which galloped leaving backstraight first occasion.

Stewards questioned Micheal Smith (XEBEC) and Ryan Hryhorec (RAKERO BLAZE) as to the reason XEBEC galloped shortly after entering front straight final occasion. After hearing evidence of Michael Smith that he was endeavouring to go with the movement of RAKERO BLAZE and his drive was inclined to lay in and became unbalanced causing it to break gait. Stewards were satisfied that Ryan Hryhorec had shifted ground in a reasonable manner and took no further action.

RACE 3 – LADBROKES COMMUNITIES PACE  - 2230MS

LAYLAS PRINCESS (S Pascoe) pulled hard when leading the one out line and when giving ground near 400 metres which inconvenienced TREACHEROUS ROCK (D Girardi) and SUMMERDAYS (D Smith).

RACE 4 – JUBILEE ROOM OPEN FOR SNACKS & BBQ PACE  - 1800MS

Permission was given for Dean Girardi (EURO BEAT) to fit a Murphy Blind on near side as it hung in its preliminary.

When questioned as why he elected to move into a position on the pegs after leaving 400 metres Corey Johnson (CLARENDEN EXPRESS) stated he had been unable to move wider as he had CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (M Smith) racing on his outside and further the horses on the peg line at that point appeared to be travelling better than those out wider.

ALWAYS ROCKIN (K Weidenbach) hung in home turn final occasion and dislodged a marker peg.

Stewards questioned Trainers Ryan & Trent Hoare (ODINS BLACK CROWS) into what appeared an improved performance from the gelding. They stated that the gear changes made after previous start where it had over raced after contacting own sulky had allowed it to settle and be rated advantageously in tonight’s race.

RACE 5 – 2024 KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR LADYSHIP STAKES – 1800MS

DEE JAYS MISS (A Chapman) placed on last chance in draw as out of position at the start.

A warning placed on TORQUE INTHEUSA (D Hill) which hung inwards and broke gait after entering backstraight first occasion. OIL THE FRISBEE (L Ryan), MACHETE ROULETTE (D Afford), JAWSOFAGOODTIME (C Johnson) and JADES HOPE (R Shepherd) were all checked in this incident.

Trainer Ross Collins reported JAWSOFAGOODTIME cross fired and struck its knee boot.

RACE 6 – 2024 LADBROKES SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PACING OAKS (LISTED CLASSIC)  - 1800MS

SHEZAMAMAJOR (W Hill) which galloped shortly after the start will continue to be excluded from the draw.

MISS IDAHO (R Hryhorec) raced wide back straight first occasion and when eased into one out line MY BABYGIRL (T McMahon) had to be eased.

HARRO HILL (C Johnson) which broke gait on two occasions in backstraight final lap placed on last chance to race truly.

ELUSIVE (D Hill) shifted up the track after entering front straight run to finish and bumped sulky wheels with SHOWSOMEJOY (G Pullicino).

RACE 7 2024 SEYMOUR GROUP LORDSHIP STAKES – 1800MS

A warning placed on TIGER ROARS (S Turner) which galloped after entering backstraight first occasion.

RACE 8 – 2024 HYGAIN SIRES PRODUCE – 2230MS

A reprimanded issued to Danielle Hill (BAY JIM MAJOR) under R163 (1)(c) contacting and dislodging a marker peg near 400 metres.

RACE 9 - WHAT THE HILL CA @ WOODLANDS STUD PACE – 1800MS

Reinsperson Samantha Pascoe (TRUMPYS LEGEND) fined $100 under R162 (1)(y) for whilst leading first half last mile in 64.9 seconds being outside prescribed time 64 seconds.
