BIZZNESS CLASS– ($4.20) Driver Blake Pace was queried regarding the performance of the gelding which gave ground to be beaten 30m into 8th placing.  Mr.Pace stated he was disappointed with the effort, given the tempo of the race from the 1200m and the three wide trail into the race should have been of benefit.  Mr.Pace added that the gelding hung in on the final turn and found little when placed under pressure in the home straight.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.

RACE 6 – JAN SLATER LIFE MEMBER PACE (1750 MS)

SOAR – Inconvenienced by Uncut Gem at the 1000m.  Utilised sprint lane in home straight.

UNCUT GEM – Driver Jack Laugher stated the gelding proved reluctant to progress to the position outside the leader after making a three wide move from the 1300m.  Mr.Laugher added that once that position wasn’t an option he elected to restrain to a position on the marker pegs with a lap remaining.  In doing so, Mr.Laugher inconvenienced Soar and he was issued a caution for shifting ground.
