RACE 6 – NUTRIEN EQUINE PACE – 1740 metres

General- Prior to the declaration of all-clear, Stewards considered a protest lodged by Peter McRae, the driver of the 2nd placed THATS THE ATTITUDE against the 1st placed THE LURKER (Jackson Painting) with the grounds of the protest being interference passing the 250m to the finish. On review Stewards found that upon racing around the final turn & into the home straight on the final occasion, THE LURKER had shifted outwards resulting in THATS THE ATTITUDE being carried wider, however no contact to either runner or sulky was evident & both runners were tested for the full length of the home straight. Although acknowledging the continual shift of THE LURKER, Stewards were unable to find that such interference had an effect as to the finishing positions noting the manner that both runners found the line, the minimal interference and the half head margin. The protest was dismissed and all-clear announced on the judge’s numbers. 1st THE LURKER, 2nd THATS THE ATTITUDE, 3rd ALL SO SASSY & 4th TIGER CHEDDER.
