Mr Painting advised he felt the filly would have sufficient gait speed to obtain a forward position after the start was effected however with multiple runners having superior gait speed he was caught racing three (3) wide. Mr Painting explained when  SHEZ BETTORS BABE obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400m he felt he would be able to improve forward and obtain the position however when its driver indicated by allowing that runner too improve forward approaching the 1200m it was evident the driver was not going relinquish the position therefore he took hold of the filly however KRISTYGIRL commenced to over race and failed to be restrained. Mr Painting added once the filly was able to be steadied OHHEMMJAY CRESCO  which had trailed the filly throughout improved forward four (4) wide approaching the 950m which resulted in the filly commencing to over race again which was the main factor he was able to restrain KRISTYGIRL to a running or marker line position. After viewing the available replays & Mr Painting comments Stewards advised Mr Painting he had erred with his tactics particular approaching the 1300m to continue improving forward when there was an opportunity to restrain to a rearward running line position when it was clear the position outside the leader was not viable and he was expected to show greater judgement.
